  • Can anyone help me with the wox 5 for £5 thing?
I am new to cross stitch and this seems like a good offer, but when I click the button on the website it takes me to a page that says there is no offers available in the UK?
Anyone know why? Is there a promo code I have to enter or something?
    Thanks

Ailsb - I am verrryyy tempted to put that on my to-do list it's fab. can I have a piccie when you've finished to make a new logo for the facebook group?

nannon - birth sampler looking good.

b-e-g: fab progress, defintly be ready for spring.

sweetcarer: any news on hubby's job prospects yet??

Just looked at my blue pen (thought i'd gridded princess palace but i havn't), it's plain blue. silver writing "water erasable pen japan" with a white lid.

DD - more then happy for sweecarer to have first dibs on your mags/ binders but if the "cross-sticher" binders are going spare after do let me know.

FoS: love christmas angel. will send you a PM about the threads.

Have now sorted (ok I've moved things from one box to another) and not counting unstarted kits/ charts etc) I have the following UFO's......

    1) Troutbeck
    2) small christmas kit - cat and tree
    3) cut-thro princess palace
    4) small chart design - "buggy buddies"
    5) mr men abc (only started this 3 yrs ago). the idea was to sitch small squares of each letter onto a blanket but i cut some too small. think i may just give up finishing this as not happy with it.
    6) little green monster (only a few stitches)
    7) charlies ark cot birth sampler
    8) polar bear ABC (about 20 stitches done).

Chicky - Of course you can have a picture and a ;) if you'd like one at any time. I think this is just a way to make sure that I finish it though.

As far as UFO's go I know I have the one I'm currently stitching, although I don't think I should count this one as actively stitching it - I need some way of reducing my list.

    Then I have the following:
    1. Tiger - inherited from Mum - need to complete the background and the outline
    2. Dragons toasting marshmallows over a fire - can't even see they are supposed to be dragons so very little stitched.
    3. Wedding sampler for Nephew - just need to add names and date of wedding which I didn't do at the time as it felt like tempting fate.
    4. African woman carrying pot on her head - inherited from Mum - background only to finish but it's on 22 count and very tiring to stitch.
    5. Peter pan on navy aida - about a quarter finished.
    6. Poppy bookmark - about 20 stitches done
    7. Blackwork bookmark - one complete row finished, about another 20 to do!
    8. Santa christmas stocking - Santa's arm stitched.
    9. A pooh, tigger & eeyore bookmark - pooh completed.
    10. A small "momentos kit" teapot - white of teapot completed.
    11. An acorn bookmark - inherited from Mum - one lone line of stitching done. (I'm going to keep this out and finish it for my sister, stitching at lunchtime at work).
    12. Country Companions three on a bench - inherited from Mum. About half finished.
    13. An advent calendar - days 1-6 finished
    14. A black bookmark with stars and a ship - 3 stars finished.
    15. A "Mouseloft" Christmas tree - snow only completed
    16. Small lavendar bag - inherited from Mum - about 20 stitches done
    17. Winnie the Pooh J - about 20 sticthes done.
    18. victorian Santa - about 20 stitches done
    19. Poohs blustery day - pooh finished, eeyore outlined.
    20. Paper dolls, paper chain design - only needs outlining. May use as a birth card for my nephews wife who is due a girl in May.
    21. 4 seasons design - Spring, Summer & Autumn finished, Winter half completed.

As you can see I could be occupied for at least a couple of years with finishing these without starting any new ones. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen :rotfl:

Hadn't really thought about what I had started until Chicky listed hers and I was upstairs so had alook. They are all in a box in the bedroom so didn't realise I had so many of them.

Will try to finish some of the above this year.

Well I have completed a few of my UFO's since joining the club so I don't feel any guilt about having a number of unfinished pieces :D

Have been working on Touched by magic since Fri - what I find strange about it is that while I'm close to it, I don't realise what I'm stitching - it's only when I take a few steps back I think 'Oh - that's a horse!' :rotfl:

Got the new WOXS in the mail today.....I really shouldn't have looked! *Has words with self* The kit that came with it will be lovely for one of the many March birthdays that are soming up, the puppy and mouse is SO cute, DD wants the knights and castle pillow and the bookmarks are a great idea!!

Ah...flip....my 'to do' pile is going crazy :o

    Hi.
I think it might be because its the 1st of the month. All the offers I've been getting through recently expired on 31st Jan, so maybe wait a few days and trya again, or keep on eye on this thread and I'm sure the next person to recieve an offer code will let you know?

Or ring them and say you've seen the 5 for £5 on the website but it won't let you buy it - I'm sure they will apologise and do it on the phone for you, they are generally pretty good.

    hi all,
well ive managed a bit more on Peace. i was looking at it thinking the house roof looks funny, then realised i hadnt stitched any snow on it so it was too small and wonky without! oops.

debt dalek - thanks - i think i got confused. i do have a couple of QUICK AND EASY mags, but i'm not really looking for more unless something takes my fancy in particular.

it's CROSS STITCH QUICK that i 'need' a couple of issues of (3,7,8) = it's the little handbag sized one, great for carrying with me. from c.2003 onwards but i dont know when it ended... does anyone?
