  • ohhh DD would be interested in your binders...............

as for selling mags I've never had much luck (so they are back in my stash).

Well I think that's why it might work better to list individual project pages?

If you can let me know which magazine binders you are after, you are very welcome to have them. I'll go and make a list of them first.
I've just realised that it's going to be a bigger task than I anticipated, as the whole of the floor under the double bed space is full of binders! Then there's a crate of magazines on the landing that's not moved for 8 years!!!!!
I also realised that before I list the actual magazines - that I need to go through them myself too!!!!
I also probably have virtually all of the freebie kits in the loft to go with them and I really should make the effort to pair them up, otherwise they are no use to anyone, as they won't have the chart!
Oh well I guess it's an early start on the spring cleaning as well as stash sorting and raising a little cash.
I'll get back to you shortly with a list of all of the binders.

Thank you flowerofscotland, when I feel like looking at it again I will take a picture and post it so you can see it. I'm going to have a good go at it with the lemon juice when I can bear it. Because of the design of the work and I can't cut it as you suggested as it goes inbetween stitches iyswim, but it was a fab idea and it would have looked lovely. Oh well lessons learned.

I think when I pick up my needle again i'm going to try using a bright tacking thread as you do. I really do need to grid the HAED theres so much to it I go very very wrong with out the griding lol.

OK Just a quick list then - off the top of my head (and on my hands and knees) I can see:

    4 Needlecraft Binders
    4 Discovering Needlecraft Binders
    4 Cross Stitcher Binders
    4 Neeedlework Binders
2 Mary Hickmott New Stitches Binders
    2 Needlecrafts Cross Stitch Binders
    1 Needleworks Cross Stitch Binder

Please bear in mind that these may not match what they sell now. They date from about '91 onwards but are all in excellent condition.

So all of them are full of magazines and in addition I can see:
a complete set of the Classic Stitches partwork, and then magazines from:

    World of Cross Stitch
    Cross Stitch Gold
    Cross Stitch Collection
    Cross Stitch Crazy
    Quick & Easy Cross Stitch
as well as a number of extra magazines which I never got the binders for, plus one off magazines.

So as you can see it's going to take me a while to sort through them for anything I want for myself but meantime please feel free to make any requests based on the above.

I am planning on an afternoon with my audio book (The Drop by Michael Connelly) and some cross stitch. I am undecided what project to pick - an xmas tigger that I started a couple of weeks ago, well I have stitched most of it and have gone wrong somewhere so not feeling the love for it anymore then earlier this week, I started this but I unpicked it yesterday (then got bored and just cut away the spare material and binned what was stitched) because the pink background on the left, well you could see the pink thread changed shade as it moved down the aida. Not sure what went wrong, whether I got thread sorting confused or whether I picked up the completely wrong thread by mistake? Anyway, top on the list of contenders is another tigger kit but not sure which one. Need to sort out a project for work also plus a handbag kit too !

    Mark B Gone Tm Japan

and on the other side smaller writing saying
Please try with a waste cloth cutting before use.

  • Hi everyone

Just wondered if any of you have seen this site or even better, stitched any of the charts http://www.pandathread.net

There are hundreds of free charts to (legally) download and are in pdf format. They download really quickly. (I have downloaded some and checked them with my anti virus software and it found no threats). You need to click on the thumbnails as some of them show just a tiny piece of the actual design. There are lots of gorgeous charts. There is also a table which gives the conversion from Panda thread to DMC and Anchor although I noticed that Panda use the same numbers as DMC but put 00 in front.

Hopefully some of you will find this useful;)

I have no idea what these will be like stitched but the charts certainly look detailed enough.
  • Am really enjoying stitching the Lizzie Kate Angel Stocking and as I am doing so am thinking of variations so that I could use the same pattern but the end result look different. Changing the colours of the dress is one obvious change; using beads instead of stitches on the dress is another; I also think I have some white with silver lurex fabric which would be a different background.

Anyway here is my (currently headless) Angel. I love the wings

I like that flowerofscotland. Nice colours with just enough detail. Can't wait to see the head!
