Emma, Thank You for your offer but I think it's too colourful for him - he'd probably want something more subtle.0

must dig out princess palace and soak it to check the pen comes out........ tho never noticed a problem with mine in the past.
Been sorting out my stash today and have a load of verigated thread i bought (from poundland) which i thought was stranded but it's not so obv too chunky to try and cross stitch with. Is it any good to anyone for embrodiary or anything (i'll even pay the cost of a stamp to you) rather then just bin it (or ask the "I'll ave it" lot on my local freegle.) There's also various stranded cross stitch threads from free kits so I have nooooo idea which numbers etc they are but are fine if you are just wanting the odd colour here and there for non-descript charts. happy to send to one person or split.
no stitching for me today have got all the paperwork that i've found in various rooms in the house/ boxes in the celler and need to get it all filed away.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Good Morning Everyone
I have a veritable mountain of various Cross Stitch Magazines and binders under the bed, that have to go!
I'd like to try and sell as many as possible - unless anyone here is desperate for a particular issue or binders of course, in which case you are very welcome to just cover the cost of the postage.
I notice that on EBay some people list the whole magazine and others just cut out the pages for a particular project.
The latter has drawbacks, as obviously some of the pages are bound to have another chart on the back.
However, I did notice last night that in some instances, there were loads of bids on particular individual charts - whereas a lot of the whole magazines are not selling.
I guess the postage is a lot cheaper for an individual page than a whole magazine.
Seems from a MSE standpoint therefore, that the latter is the way to go?
Would welcome any comments, suggestions and of course requests for magazines/binders.
I'll start making a list of them all in a minute and post again.0 -
ohhh DD would be interested in your binders...............
as for selling mags I've never had much luck (so they are back in my stash).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Hi Chicky If no one else is interested I could use the variegated threads for things I do with my DS's primary school class but I'd have to send something in return even if it's just a skein of regular DMC0 -

Oh Emma I could cry at the thought of all that beautiful work spoiled No wonder your stitchy bug has gone missing. Hopefully if you keep in touch here we can get it back for you after you move - your new home will have blank walls to fill.
I've never used these pens for gridding just for temporary marking such as the middle or top of the fabric. I don't grid many of my projects but when I'm doing something big such as a Mirabilia, Lavender & Lace, Lanarte or Paula Vaughan I use yellow tacking thread to grid - it shows on most colour of fabric and it's easy to remove as you stitch. I don't know how much longer it takes than marking as I find it easy to get into a stitching rhythm when doing it.
But that doesn't help with your Samurai. Do the marks show on the actual stitched area? Is there any possibility of rescue by cutting round the stitched area and appliqueing (sp?) it to another fabric which could become a cushion or could be framed. It would look stunning on a moire silk or a velvet background.
Thank you for sharing the warning and good luck with the move0
