PS I was browsing the Mouseloft site the other day but I have bought from them before and there is nothing now that takes my fancy.
I'm after my festive stash for next year - nothing like getting organisedso if you have any ideas of small xmas kits (preferably with a card and envelope) then please share.
Likewise for very small simple kits for birthdays/anniversaries etc plus to start people off on who haven't stitched before ....0 -
When do people start their larger Christmas projects?
I have several charts, kits etc that I was going to sell on, but I was wondering if it is too early to list them.0 -
Hi, I use these, I got this medium one from eBay because it came with a winder and some bobbins, but you can get the larger ones for about the same price from Home Bargains.
As you can see though, you might need a fewI have loads of skeins left to wind but I ran out of room and I'm not taking all the beads out of my larger boxes cause I would still need to find somewhere to put those, so just need to invest in a couple of the bigger boxes
Thank you I'll have a go. I think like you I will need more than one box.

I know this isn't cross stitch related but if you are a pay as you go mobile customer, would you mind letting me know what phone you have and what network you are on? I am currently with Virgin mobile and would like to change networks but don't know who to go with - orange/te$co top of the list but can't make up my mind and as my phone is locked to virgin, would have to buy a new phone.... if I do decide to move networks. I know I can probably sort out an unlock code but would prefer to keep the phone as it is as a spare/emergency phone.
I'm not fussed about having access to facebook or e-mail on my phone, I just want a decent camera, radio and the ability to text oh and make the occasional call. I have always gone for nokias in the past.
I'm with Orange pay as you go and it's rubbish. The coverage is supposed to be good, and according to the coverage checks the signal should be strong where I live now and the last 2 houses I lived in, yet I've varied between no signal at all to 1 barSame goes for my mum's holiday cottage in Yorkshire. There should be signal, but it receives absolutely none at all. I actually took my first phone back as I thought it was broken with such bad coverage, but it wasn't!! And the T-mobile-Orange coverage share hasn't improved it much, I still have to stand in one spot and not move in order to make a call. Customer service is awful too. You can probably tell it drives me crazy!!
The only plus point to Orange is the Orange Wednesday cinema tickets. If my phone wasn't locked to Orange I would've left, but I refuse to waste money unlocking it.
I'm like you in that I don't use my phone other than texts, calls and photos, but I can't recommend a phone as mine is 2 years old and I need to get a new one myself once I've got some money.
For pay as you go O2 have always been best, easiest to top up, and very good signal. I still keep a really old brick phone on O2 with some credit on it for when I get nothing on Orange. Hubby has always done well with Vodafone as well.
debtdalek- I'm intending to do my kids a stocking each this year, and I'll probably start those about June ish to make totally sure I get finished and get a head start. If I'm just doing a scene though I'll leave it until September onwards. Personally I wouldn't buy anything now unless it was very cheap, I associate buying xmas stuff at this time of year with sales, so I'd only pay bare minimum. It might be worth you waiting a little while to sell them, or I might just be strange for leaving it until later in the year!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -

I usually start a new Christmas project during the Christmas/New Year break and then stitch it on and off during the year with the aim of finishing before December. But I'm not sure that I am typical. Christmas in July is often used by magazines, shopping sites etc so perhaps that might be a better time ?0 -

I think this must be now as I've not seen it before either. Not sure whether I would stitch it. I'm not too keen on the organist.
Debtdalek - have pm'd you. Thank you so much.
Will try my new thread over the weekend and hopefully post the results. Who knows I might even get to finish the dreaded tiger :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j
