Can I ask a question please? FOr any of you that have made magnets to either sell or give as gifts, how do you cover up the back of the stitching or do you just keep it as neat as possible. I am thinking of doing some small designs to sell at the craft fair.

    Thanks

havent ever made magnets myself but how about either a plain piece of paper in the back to cover the reverse side, or using bondaweb type stuff to cover the back. im sure someone whos already done some will be along shortly with their answer.

I would cover your stitching with paper or card? I was stitching magnets last year for my Slimming World Group but I couldn't afford the £1.50 for each magnet that Framecraft wanted so I found somewhere else that sold magnets in bulk and much cheaper but as they weren't proper craft items (i.e. only meant for paper advertising I guess?) there wasn't much room but they worked ok.

I did many moons ago stitch some keyrings, the small round ones. If my memory serves me correct, it was a mag called Cross Stitch Gift Shop - I stitched mainly initials but did also stitch a small elephant and then stuck a pic of my OH on the other side of the keyring. You know never forget I love You :rotfl: I did the same for my friend. was nice to personalise it and was more interesting than using the supplied paper.

just popping in to say..........."wahoooo the sofas are gone" :j:j

I've just remembered why i never stray onto other threads (Maria may have noticed my run in with someone - sorry can't remember who else stays into the christmas thread)
See if you think I'm being catty (as can't use the word i want on forum).
I posted about stuff from a shop. literally 2/ 3 posts later person b posted about the same shop.
Person 3 asked THEM by name about the shop.
Being the helpful person i am i put some links and some info.
about 5 posts later person 2 posted about a line about the shop.
poster 3 then thanked them by name for being so helpful.

I mentioned i was annoyed on the thread and a few people asked why so not mentioning names i stated this fact. I joked that perhaps i was on their ignore list.

person 3 almost immediatly put an apology (so they knew exactly who they were). they have since edited it to say "if you want to have a dig next time tell me".

Lifes too short to get p155ed off about it but I'm certainly not making an effort for them again. I know how easy it is to miss a post but this was completly ignoring 2 posts literally minutes before person 2 commented.

    rant over.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Apologies ladies - not sure i made myself clear. I was thinking of stitching some simple magnets onto plastic canvas so not sure I could use iron-on interfacing - lol!!

    Any ideas gratefully received
