    morning all
again lovely photos and updates, sweetcarer hope you are soon feeling better and headache doesnt turn into migraine
did a bit of titanic yesterday afternoon thought id got a bargain at the car boot, but it turned out not to have the chart in, i got a pack of small pieces of adia along with a large cover kit, its a bunch of red tulips in a striped glass or vase but i thought it was a real kit as its quite big and all the threads are already sorted on a card, on closer inspection its from a crossstitcher mag and chart must have been in the mag, does anyone recognoise it and know what issue number i should be looking out for please?
also got a welsh dragon kit, bro in law is from wales so thats him sorted for christmas
    a tapestry scissor case
a pack of 'easy grid' for converting pictures or photos into charts, not sure what id do with it yet but it looked useful
a couple of charts the kits have been done so its just the charts and left over treads to matchup. a floral one and an indian dreamcatcher one, a box full of dmc threads and a small plastic box with some threads already in wound onto cards, a cross stitch collection mag and a load of spare cards. i only spent about a £5er so really pleased

I've stitched this & I'm sure I have the chart on the pc. PM me your email address & I'll email it over in a little while.

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • Morning everyone - I hesitate to use the word good as it is pouring with rain and quite chilly. Though that makes it an ideal day to stay home and stitch.

ocemeer - had to go looking for Spanish mags after your comments - not sure these are the same ones you were looking at but they have some lovely designs

ladymarmalade I think your idea of making your own cushion is probably the best way to go. Making a cushion is easy - it's the design and the embroidery that takes the time. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Louise - hope you get some stitching time today

sweetcarer hope you feel better soon and that your headache doesn't become a migraine. That anniversary sampler is lovely - I must have it as I used to subsribe to XS Collection in the early days of publication

blue eyed girl Oh no - it's so maddening when you make a mistake and even worse when you don't notice straight away I'm sure we've all done it. The worst example I can think of is the border on a large Just Nan sampler where I didn't do enough checking and when I reached the end of the left hand border it didn't match the right hand  Nothing for it but to "reverse stitch" back to where I made the mistake and redo it. It almost became a UFO but after putting it to one side for a short while I finally finished it and it is one of my favourite pieces

Hope you don't have to redo too much of SB

caroline Love all your upates but especially To have and to hold Is this a kit or a chart?

chicky how frustrating about the sofas Hope you get it sorted quickly

maria Felt exhausted just reading your post but sounds like fun. Beautiful ring cushions. Love the latest fairy. Cards should be great. Was it you who was thinking of selling some of her xs? If it was because you don't have space for it have you thought of raffling a framed piece to raise money for Rainbows? A neighbour of mine did this recently for local brass band and raised quite a lot of money

mrsmp The tulips kit is from issue 199 You did really well at the car boot sale

Have spent the morning getting the house back to normal after yesterday's visitors. Lunch is pea and ham soup which is bubbling away in the slow cooker and dinner will be left over roast beef and veg with a few oven potato wedges so no cooking means more time to stitch :j

Hope everyone enjoys the day. Hope to post updates later

Hope all you Southeners are enjoying your bank holiday :D

It's been chucking it down here so I'm glad everyone is at work/school.

Got the whole house cleaned this morning while they were at school (even the kids rooms :))Just picked up DD and had lunch - got till just after 3pm to ourselves before I collect DS2, make dinner, get DD to ballet, rush home, get changed and get myself to work.

However......I am hatching a new stitchy plan.... I haven't been able to think what to get my mum for Christmas. It will be her first one without my dad so I was trying to think of something a bit special/different. So last night I started charting the words to 'their song' to stitch for her.
Hubby reckons it will upset her too much but I think she will be upset anyway on the day. Her birthday is the 23rd Dec so I could always give her it then if it seems unsuitable. I'm undecided for now.

Determined to finish the medieval lady before I start though...just the grass to do!

FoS = yes they are the ones - collecting them as much as I can - they do 'collections' where three of the magazines are sold together for about 7 euros so I keep an eye out for those when I can. ONly have a set of three baby ones with me right now, one has some lovely alien spacecraft stuff in it.
I will try and keep an eye on the chat more for when people are looking for things so I can do a nudge if required, will exchange my WOXS subscription for the labores one (though the patchwork one is lovely too).

Just realised the Nan designs you sew are absolutely gorgeous - but am on a sewing ban I have too much to do right now (5 chair backs to make and 6 single duvet sets to do and two double duvet sets too - i don't get flowers from my OH he buys me rolls of fabric !)

Just popping on quickly before the Wallace and Gromit Prom :T to say hi and hope everyone has had a lovely weekend/bank hols.

I managed about 5 stitches of the Lickle Ted design yesterday but hopefully I will get some more done this afternoon/evening.

I have had quite a lazy day. :T Sorted out my clothes this morning so have a bag for the charity shop now and been catching up on Deal or no Deal on 4od.

I am a bit annoyed however. My OH bought me an internet radio for my birthday and we paid the extra to get the rechargeable battery but despite having the radio for several weeks and the battery having plenty of time to charge up - it doesn't hold its charge at all and immediately you unplug the radio, it switches itself off. :( I'm guessing its the battery that's the problem as the radio appears to work fine so I've filled out a returns and will be posting it back tomorrow. I was going to get a replacement but none was available. Do you think there will be a problem that I don't have the original packaging - long since binned! (I bought it from Am^zon)

My neighbours kids rolled in at 5am something this morning. Ha ! I wonder if they have got up yet and wonder if they have round 2 hangovers from hell?! what is the appeal of going out and drinking far too much ???

ok, sofa, cross stitch and wallace and gromit it is!
  • That's ax brilliant idea flowers of scotland why didnt I think of that!
