Suppose to be stitching but got distracted looking at x stiitch magazines in spain and fallen in love with their patchwork magazine ( I already love their x stitch ones both for baby and normal as some of their designs are really beautiful and appeal more than WOXS so I know what subscription I am changing to - wish I had a little girl to sew for there are some wonderful princess patterns in the issue I have).
Must get on just found out i need to do a wedding card for end of September now too as well as everything else.0 -
Just popping in during the lull before the storm i.e. when all my visitors arrive. Think everything is under control and I can't do anything more at the moment
Chicky Love those Xmas cupcakes - not sure I would do something that detailed for a Xmas card which will probably be thrown out at the end of the festivities. Would make lovely decorations for the tree (more likely to be kept)
Can't help with the query on the the subs gift I'm afraid
nmm You should change your user name to The Finder for your brilliant detective work
ocemeer When you find the extra time can you share it please
I thought the scroll frame for a wedding anniversary sampler was a lovely idea. Jo Verso did an anniversary sampler design featuring all the anniversaries - depends if you like her style or not
mrsmp Your version of Footprints is lovely and the way the mount is part of the overall design is stunning. The one I stitched had more verses but I had to use an ordinary mount - found the pattern here
FE well done on making a reservation at the library instead of buying the book (it's very good BTW)
magscat I have a needle threader and I don't find it at all useful so wouldn't recommend. Other models may be ok. The easy thread needles are good though
Sounds like a car pulling into the drive so need to change into hostess mode:rotfl:0 -

ladymarmalade welcome to the cafe. It's a long time since I stitched a ring pillow and it was chosen to fit with the bride's wedding theme. What sort of design do you like (or not like?) Have you got any preferences about colour or are you sticking to white/cream/ivory?
Hi....not too fussed about the colours as i can always adapt, but the 'theme' is green and off white!
i've been looking myself again and lots of the ones i have found are quite old fashioned so I am now thinking that I should bit the bullet and get creative. You see I usaull just stick to kits (easy as everything is there for you) or simple 'picture' designs from magazines. What I might do though is get a normal wedding kit I like but stitch it on my own piece of fabric and then turn it into a cushion and add ribbon etc.....just wondering if I am up to that lol:A:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. I've got an unopened packet of size 26 easy threading eye cross stitch needles. Never tried them myself, but if you're interested in trying them then pm your address.

Thanks, that's really kind of you
I've got lots of needles though...I just need better eyesight :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon all
Spent yesterday out clay shooting with hubby and a group of friends then we all went out for dinner - so tired by the time we got home, I think it's the fastest I have fallen asleep ever. :TGot a big bruise on my shoulder from the shotgun kick so I'm a bit stiff today.
Have to head out shopping - DS1 had the CHEEK to grow too fast over the holidays so the school trousers which fitted him in June are too short now! Going to have to stop feeding him or something lol :rotfl:
I'm a smidge annoyed that I'm not going to get to sit, stitch and watch the athletics on tv(It's the Birmingham GP)
Hope everyone else is finding some stitchy time this weekend xxCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Flowerofscotland - happy to share but not sure what (i'm a bit dense right now suffering from not sleeping well right now so head a bit cottonwooley). I like the scroll and thinking of keeping that for one of my friends who is getting married at Xmas as a marriage thing, as it doesnt quite go with a Spanish house - have seen a midnight galleon which is lovely just nothing to do with paper..... in fact got to switch computer off as spent hours looking at the back issues of the spanish cross stitch mags, they are into house decor a lot and do lovely net curtain stuff and tablecloths, right athletics and sewing calls.0

It seems like ages since I did any stitching, so going to shut myself away for the afternoon and get some of the horse race done
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend0 -
Been thinking of the anniversery stitch. What about one of these - these are two I have done before (the wedding one many times) and they take under a week to do - or all day if you have the time.
or the one I did for my own anniverery
I got this magazine in my stash and made me think of all the anniverseries - they are selling it on ebay too - Celebarations in Cross Stitch - Samplers - photo taken from ebay as I have lost the camera - it is in the bottom corner
Here is the links on ebay to the magazine

:mad::mad::mad:
I was so mad with myself yesterday when I realised that I had dropped a major clanger with Sleeping Beauty - major in the sense that I had missed out two rows of stitching. My first reaction was that I was going to have to unpick half a page of xstitching  but after calming down and looking at this I can use some 'manipulation' and hope things work out. I know it seems as though it should have been obvious that things weren't 'matching up' but on the areas that I have done so far - well I missed it. If I had got up to her face, the penny might have dropped as she would have and a bit of a weird expression on her face
. Don't feel quite as bad today as I did yesterday. Anyway hope to get the stitching out once I get this laptop put away.
Enjoy holiday weekend everyone (sorry Louise:D)
