It's a very strange chart (not sure if i've said it before). But the letters aren't always formed identically.
See example - look at the "too" on the 2nd line and last line. there are loads of other examples in the main body too (just look how many o's have a line joining it to the next letter and how many don't. But I daren't alter it cause i'll forget what i altered by the time I get to the end.
The "IF". I've altered this slightly from the chart and thought half stitches in the middle may make it stand out more but now it's done it's still very dull and blends in together. I think if i do full crosses this will be worse.
Do you think if I perhaps outline stitch the word IF in a metallic thread or black it may help??..... any ideas.... should I unpick it??
First 2 verses - half way through (except the border)...... still unsure what type of border to do.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Here is the design I love:

Will this be too hard for a beginner (I think I know the answer but just in case!)
Thank you all in advance
ETA: The design is not printed on the aida..
I think this is a lovely design. As others have said it is large but as it uses only whole stitches I think it would be managable. Make sure you put a white pillowcase on your knee so as the holes are more visible.chickywiggle wrote: »

I think maybe making the green whole stitches, and outlining in black may help...It does seem to run into the other colour and be a bit blurry as it is....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
chickywiggle - that's amazing! I love that poem0

Chicky - not sure if black outlining might be a bit too harsh - is there any black eleswhere on the design? You could try outlining in gold metallic or even in a darker brown to the lettering.
Off out in a bit to get quotes for framing. Have found a couple of shops in the area and going to have a look. Tried to get to one yesterday pm but turned round after 40 minutes decided it was too far and weather too bad.
Have a good stitchy day all. Hubby back from working away so no stitching for me - got to clean "his" kitchen up - lolCross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

beg. I really like the Birthday cards, very nice.
Malfiore. Welcome. Personally I'd start on a small piece just to get back into the swing of stitching, maybe a mag freebie, that way I wouldn't be too bothered if I messed it up.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
blue-eyed-girl - love the number cards. Where is the chart from please?
Regards
Emma
Hiya Emma - I got the numbers from a little booklet that came free with Cross Stitch Crazy Mag. Had a quick look on Fleabay and found this one but I think the price is a bit .
Right girls - decision time - housework or Sleeping Beauty :think::think::think:

There's no other black BUT as I am adapting the border I could work it in. OR that's given me an idea. I could unpick the red letters. cross the green and do the letters in gold metallic (then work the gold into the border). ......
knew i shouldn't have meddled!!blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Right girls - decision time - housework or Sleeping Beauty :think::think::think::think:

Chicky - I would suggest finishing off the green crosses and outline the 'If' in a dark red colour. That way it would define the edges but still blend in nicely.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
