I am way behind on posts so if I miss acknowledging anyone I apologise
After the problems with the car last weekend (which I got sorted on the Monday) we have had problems with the lights in the bedroom this week. Electrician is coming on Tuesday. Just hoping it won't be too expensive
mags cat Loving Hard Frost. and great that it should be easier from now on. Well done on sorting out your fabric stash - it will save so much time when you need to find the right piece of fabric for a project you really want to start. The Thea Gouveneur kit is amazing - I have seen a stitched model at a show and it looked wonderful
Highlighter pens Unless I am sttiching a very small project I photocopy the chart so i don t have to worry about erasing the highlighting
Louise Your Company E piece is stunning and I am sure will be much appreciated
brednall I hardly ever go to Hobbycraft but when I do I am always struck by the high prices. Years ago they were good on price for DMC and Anchor threads but not any more
JCS Love both of your framed pieces but especially the hearts - I love the shadow effect and the colours of the mounts really set them off. You are really lucky to have such a great framer especially compared to Louise's experience. I've framed smaller pieces myself but have always paid an expert for my bigger pieces
AIlsb Your tiger is simply stunning and the story behind it just makes it even better0 -
My framed pieces, cost £55 for them both:

like the idea of a chat thread but as its mostly regulars on here is it a huge problem if we go off topic sometimes?
I never talk about things that are off topic and it annoys me when people do. I only talk about stitching.chickywiggle wrote: »New laptop went bang last night and now i have no files nothing that i had transferred over!!! (managed to exchange for a new lappy today but being Argos no offer to recover files)
now sat trying to install stuff onto new lappy while downloading a free recover all programme onto the older one (before the last one) to see if i can recoveranything at all.
If you can afford it, it's worth getting an external hard drive - I have a folder of files that I've downloaded on my laptop that every so often, I save to my external HD. I also, when I save a site as a favourite in internet explorer, I add it to an excel file, which also goes in the folder to be saved to my HD.
That way, if my laptop goes bang, I have most of what I've done previously.
Oh, sorry, was that off topic? Well, I neverI've got 20 pages to catch up, by the way...

Just wondered if you'd all filled in the questionnaire/stitching survey that reflects what you'd like to see in CrossStitcher (or not!), size, length, nature and complexity of projects etc?
I filled this in - I told them exactly what I thought. Although I got a bit stuck on the 'What's the best gift you've received with a magazine' and answered that a tin with a magnet in the lid for needles was the best I'd hadTo be fair, it's the only one I still use.

Are any of you fans of sudoku or other japanese themed puzzles ? (kakuro, enigma (as it used to be called - also known as linked in (I think) mosaic, hanje etc?)
I like sudoku (and super sudoku - where there are letters and numbers). I also like enigma and mosaic. Never heard of hanje though.0 -
While clearing out some of my stash I cam across an afghan that I would love to do for my son. I am thinking of maybe using old cover kit charts for this as I think these might be large enough, so was wondering does anyone have any that they no longer need. I would need them posted as my printer doesn't speak to my laptop. Obviously I would be willing to pay all costs involved....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

Oh..or I vaguely remember buying a chart of a Mr Men alphabet which I had planned to use, but I can't find it now...does anyone have that..xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

Or does anyone have any other ideas...lol...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0
