    Maybe a little off topic.

Just had to share this with you all - it is a cake . . .

A chef at North Devon District Hospital has won her second national gold award within a year for a novelty cake – a stunning recreation of a sewing basket that is edible down to the last needle, button and strand of cotton.

    THAT is amazing!! :eek::T:T

I am going to buy bewitching book by Joan Elliott. RUcraft used to sell the book with some threads, but they it has gone from their website and they only sell the book now, does anyone know where the book and the threads come as a set?

I am also going to buy one of those frames that everyone or nearly everyone has, can someone point me in the direction again please?

    Frame is here: http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Plastic-TableLap-Frame---Small__RAR-Small-spc-Table-fslsh-Lap.aspx

Haven't heard of that book, I'm going to have to google it :)

That cake is incredible! Thanks for posting a pic.

Mum has nicked my stitching spot to mend DH's ripped jeans pocket, so I'm sat on the chair with a kitten sat on my foot-underneath a blanket! Funny little girl!

Having a clear out of my bedroom as its a tip. Come across loads of stitching stuff that I forgot was in there. Does it walk off on its own during the night? I've got a piece of turquoise aida which I fancy stitching on. Maybe something summer-y or tropical themed.
Too hot for me today, mind. I walked to the pool for my water aerobics class (with factor 50 on!) but didn't take any with me to put on after, so got slightly toasted on the walk home (30 mins?).
Saw lots of Olympic traffic in the high street today & yesterday. Lot of special buses (there's a pop up hotel nearby which I believe some of the security staff are living in, so think the buses are learning the route to transport them to Stratford) & some car with cycle racks on top. There was one with Iran on the back and El Salvador & Greece. My mum is stewarding at the cycle race this weekend, so she'll get to be part of the action.

Is This the same as these at the bottom of the page? apart from the stand bit that sits on your lap.

This is the book I was talking about.

    Loving that cake :T

Well, I picked up my job lot from ebay seller, now that I have got it home and looked at it more closely, I am in even more stunned. All the items had been up in the loft for a while, and they are moving house hence the reson for sale, but there is so much - it's going to take quite a few evening to sort through.

There's even more than it looks, as that bit of red fabric at the top, has green, blue, yellow, peach and various other colours in the same packet (can you tell my cat likes having his picture taken :p )

And a few more threads too - they are mainly DMC and Anchor, if anyone is missing any Anchor threads please pm me and I'll send a list of what I have, might take me a while to make that list though!

Might have to hide it all way before the weekend and OH sees it :rotfl:

They look very similar, and have the same supplier. Website for them is below, they appear to be slightly cheaper but I haven't checked out their postage:

I like Rory, glad he got saved, I love his voice.

Yes they are the same frames (same manufacturer) but it's the lap part that makes all the difference to stitching imo :)

Creeping in through the back door and hoping no one notices...

I haven't been on here in ages...Had my baby last year and don't know where the time went to...lol

Anyway, my brother is getting married on the 1st October this year and I would love to stitch him something.

I quite fancy Vervaco's To Have and To Hold, but was wondering if any of you wonderful people had any other suggestions...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Hello everyone :),

Can I join in the group?! I'm a fan of the 'Cut Through Series' of Bothy Threads and currently working through the Noah's Ark one. This is my second big project, the first was the camper van but made sooo many mistakes i've now binned that one and started afresh with the Noah' Ark. Would love to have another go at the camper van but for now the Noah's ark one is just fine.
