Evening ladies
Looking for a bit of advice please. After losing my outlet for my handmade cards, I have decided to make some small cross stitched items. I potentially have a place at an upcoming craft fair so I have something to aim for. I have keyrings already and thought about doing some magnets with plastic canvas, maybe some cross stitch cards that could also be gifts (like wedding or new baby) but stumped for other ideas. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Also, if anyone has any suitable charts or oddments of aida, I would be happy to borrow them etc.
Regards
Emma
How about bookmarks? I have stitched a few and received one that was stitched especially for me :T0 -

Glad you had a good time tho would be interesting to know where your cottage was/ who it was through as my mum often stays that way in cottages so can warn her off. PM me if you want.
did i mention you can now go for holidays in my old student house?? I would LOVE to do that but tis pretty expensive as it houses 8. Still may have to do it just for the memories (or our stitchy weekend??)
Will confirm exact details about cottage and pm you. In general, it just didn't have that home from home feeling that we have had with our previous two cottages. I'm thinking of starting a thread on the holidays forum so that people can share reviews of cottages they have stayed in. I have to be honest and say the cottage felt/looked cleaner when we left than when we arrived! but it was adequate for our needs just not "home" with all my "home comforts" and cross stitch stash!
Ive opened all my cross stitch mags and I'm rather excited :T I think thats going to be my project for tomorrow (browse mags and find more projects to add to the TO DO list)

Some thoughts = coasters, little boxes with a tooth fairy XS on the top, scissors fobs, if the craft fair is before the schools break up then Thank You Teacher cards could sell, sachets filled with lavender or pot pourri, covered buttons, badges for kids, birthday cards for "special birthdays" - 40, 50, 60 etc. Hope it goes well.0 -
sorry brednall i cant think of any ideas that havent already been mentioned
welcome home flat eric
i second that louise i love a progress piccie
well i went through my box of pictures from the house today and took all the cross stitch out of frames that i know we wont put back on the walls once we are allowed pictures up and i now have a box full, but i dont really know what to do with them , seems a shame to leave them in a box but im not really sure what i could do with them
decided to frame a good marriage and have it on the window ledge, so found a frame for that in my box and also on for the only place so will frame them tommorrow
i have made a good start on my purse, im really enjoying stitching it, substituted one or the pinks and one of the greens for sparkley threads and im sewing it on sparkly aida aswell, cant believe how much of a difference thread heaven makes!! wont post a picture yet as im only 2 days in!

Hubby did his usual last night and didn't come to bed till very late so I stayed up stitching in bed - sneaked it in to bedroom. Framed it a wee while ago as he is still sleeping - going to wake him up soon with "breakfast" in bed and give it to him then. The frame is not exactly wooden but I fell for it. Now I can get less pressured stitching done. Found my kiss by Emily Peacock (thank you granny!) and might even stitch it or I might gets some gridded (magic guide evenweave) 25hpi for Jo Versos floral garlands. So many choices and also I still have to complete my lavender vase hubby got me and my blue stitch at work. My stitching bug is all over the place.
Ok better show you a picture - hope everyone is well where ever you are

Happy (belated) anniversary.
This is beautiful and the frame is just perfect.0 -
Fnished third page of Earh....it was only a half page due to it being a curve so I won't bore you with an another update yet lol
Can't sleep so watching Jimmy Carr on DVD atm, just starting on a small piece that a friend has asked me to stitch for her new grandson.
Watched 'Contagion' earlier...it was basically 'Outbreak' but without Dustin Hoffman or a love aspect, so not great. Oh....and I finally cracked open that carton of Karamel Sutra Ice cream that I bought a while back (when I saw you guys talking about it lol)......so much for a 'core of caramel' It went down about an inch or so and that was it. Harrumph.
Anyway, that was the random convo for the evening...back to my pram sitch lol
I love updates -no such thing as too many in my book (though I haven't kept up to date myself)
Your space picture is stunning and you have made amazing progress especially with all those confetti stitches0 -

I agree it's a shame not to have our work on display (though I have a box like yours).
What sort of sizes are the pieces and is there any spare fabric around the stitching?
Box tops are nice with stitching on the top - especially if you store stitching bits and bobs in them. Fridge magnets, coasters, cards, pincushions, cushions, book or photo album covers, sachets, hanging hearts could work. Can you use any of them for presents?0
