thats a great way of doing it Soulie. I normally bring mine up at a random place. get them knotted and twisted so there is no point using them OR forget which colour it is ............ then snip it off LOL.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hi All,

I've lurked around on here a while and been Cross Stitching a few years.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Wedding/Marriage kit? I went to school with the groom-to-be and he's a friend of the family. I'm not invited to the wedding and haven't even met the bride but as a family we would like to send a card. Design fairly modern or at least not too flowery and not too big so its suitable for a large ish card.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance :)

How about Lizzie Kate's Just Married? I've stitched it & it's quick to stitch, you can adapt the colours to suit & it's not too big.

I think I must be a bit of an oddity in that I try to finish all of stitches in one colour in a given area before I do another. I don't do the 5x5 or 10x10 rule, neither do I try to finish a sheet of A4 before moving to the next I tend to jump around.

I also do this and jump around and follow very little, I usually change colours, technique, embellishments etc. However not done a big chart as yet, so only 1 page at a time.

Souli - update looks fab, can't wait to see it as the eagle appears more :) I tried to follow what you meant, but brain confuzzled and useless at following/understanding logical things.

Maria - I also think a good marriage will be best framed, if it makes sense imo a cushion doesn't quite celebrate a marriage like a framed piece on the wall which will be admired and loved for years to come and protected.

Ailsb- Are you doing the sal on TSS? think I saw your name.
Completely don't envy you, Bromyard Gala has been cancelled, found out when we arrived this morn, so think we'll head home tomoz, via a shop to look for perle for the Hardanger sal.

Welcome Giggles, you'll love it here if you are passionate about cross stitch and not just a chart leecher. I think i will be getting the LK wedding one, looks simple and quick to stitch and is well priced, just my thing :p

No stitching as yet, but hope to get some out later, especially considering the amount I brought ;)

can second that. I've used them twice in the last month and reasonable p+p. Glad you found a suitable chart, there are far too many LK ones I'd like to stitch one day.

Fnished third page of Earh....it was only a half page due to it being a curve so I won't bore you with an another update yet lol

Can't sleep so watching Jimmy Carr on DVD atm, just starting on a small piece that a friend has asked me to stitch for her new grandson.

Watched 'Contagion' earlier...it was basically 'Outbreak' but without Dustin Hoffman or a love aspect, so not great. Oh....and I finally cracked open that carton of Karamel Sutra Ice cream that I bought a while back (when I saw you guys talking about it lol)......so much for a 'core of caramel' It went down about an inch or so and that was it. Harrumph.

Anyway, that was the random convo for the evening...back to my pram sitch lol

Lovely pics shelly, maria and soulie. :T

Hellooo giggles_alot. Let us know how you get on with the marriage stitch.

Will have to re-study your explanation soulie tomorrow when my brain is a little less scrambled and tired. I think I know where you are going with it - its just that its rather late now. :o

Have started no. 2 pic of art deco minis - quite enjoying them as they are quite easy and blocky to stitch. Had word that Sleeping Beauty is on her way :j.

I second the idea of a stitchy weekend in view of this horrible rotten weather. I propose we all stay dry and stitch.

I do the same Ailsb. The only time I leave trailing thread to finish later is if I have done all the stitches of that colour in the area but the last few stitches were singles (like confetti stitching) that then doesn't leave me with enough stitches to finish/anchor my thread at the back. I'll then trail it and finish it another time when I have done more stitching in that area.
Though having said that, if I was starting with a new length of thread I would do the singles first and work towards the already stitched area so I could finish the thread off at the end.
