I'm currently stitching my rainbow Tree on 11 count and using 2 strands. As they say I started so I'll finish!!! But I have to admit I think 3 strands would probably look better. It does "grow" fast and is nice and easy to stitch. Will try to take a photo tomorrow and let you see what you think.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Catch up time :j:j
Aislb - love marriage sampler. Thanks for comments re 11ct too.
Lancs Lady - good progress with Winter Angel. Looking forward to next update.
23rd - invites sound great. Good luck with all other preparations.
Soulie - 13 in 2013 sounds great idea and like mrs. m I don't do fb either.
Flat Eric - hope you are still on that sofa with stitching in hand
Louise - great progress so far. This is going to be very impressive. Fancy some people saying you should have your own special rules for 13 in 2013 challenge - how rude. There'll be no stopping you if you get locked in your very own craft room - no I'm not turning into a big green eyed monster
:D It might have been nnm looking for RM
Sweetcarer - hope you manage to work something out regarding the threads. I tend to buy the threads (full skiens) as I need them in an attempt to build up a little supply. Hope you manage to get hubbys card finished. How many years will you be celebrating. I think I can remember you posted some of your wedding pics a while ago.
JCS1 - lovely pics - 'If' is my favourite.
FOS - sounds as though you had a really nightmare trip but at least you arrived home safely. Regarding the washing before hols - loved your comment re people who leave their washing in basket for weeks :rotfl: but I would just like to say that considering I got mine really really really up to date before we left, when I got back I had three washer loads plus some hand washing to do and we were only away for two nights - how does that work out. Re my query about 11ct aida, I have contacted the seller and they have said that it is done for three strands. It is solid stitching - no blank bits and I would get a mount to go to the edge of the stitching if that makes sense. Thanks for your advice.
My stitchy plans for the week - get frame for IT Crowd from Wilkos tomorrow, make my mind up which kit to order from China and I have started a kit I bought in Edinburgh last year - its a set of mini Art Deco pics. Should be quite simple - but lately I'm finding the most simple of task quite taxing - we will have to wait and see.
Sorry for rambling on a bit but you lot have been so chatty over the last couple of days and I had a lot to catch up on.
Take care everyone,

Have a quick question if anyone can help, I want to do a decorative throw for my daughters bed, has anyone done one before? Do they do am afghan in single bed size?, or would I be better off doing each picture separately and making it into a blanket, or using on big piece of aida and making it in to a blanket? Or my final option using waste canvas on a blanket, not sure which is the best way to go about it lol
Any help would be apprechiated

23rd. Love your invitation idea, sure they will look fab!
Louise. Earth is coming along nicely. I don't envy you the confetti stitching at all!
Sweetcarer. Hope you get your card finished on time! It's a really nice design.
JCS. Love your two framed pieces.
Nmm. Nice progress.
As for me.....the CC is coming along a lot quicker than I thought it would, though it's an easy stitch really as it's mostly blocks of colour. Only bit I'm not looking forward to (and will leave until last I think) is the blue steps of the slide that I have changed. I only have 3 blues that are close in shade as opposed to the 4 shades of pink I should be using. Oh well, it will either look ok or rubbish, I'll deal with it when I get that far :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
nmm - good progress - getting interesting as pic is 'revealed'.
shelly - I'm sure the blues will be fine. Looking forward to the piccy.
Off now the frame IT Crowd - will post pic later.

Well here's the pic
Don't think it looks too bad considering it was a free chart, aida and threads I had in and the frame came from the £shop. :j:j
Will get it up on the wall for DS before he comes in today. He used to work in IT support so I'm sure he will appreciate it.
Take care everyone,

PS Will pop back later to let you know which kit I have decided on for next big project - still at the dilly dallying stage.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

personally I would (well ok I wouldn't cause i'm not that creative but you know what i mean) i'd do individual pics on waste canvas and put them onto a blanket. OR do little mini ones and create a patchwork blanket.
I think trying to stitch a single sized anything in one go is going to be HUGEEEEE (and defo require a frame).blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Well here's the pic

It's brilliant and one of my top 10 annoying sayings. :rotfl:
JSC (i think without looking back) you wouldn't still have the 'if' chart floating around would you?? I'm thinking Christmas (already) and stitching/ framing poems for family (hey cheap and chearful but well recieved). Tho I may only do the first 'verse' of them if they are too long.
Can anyone suggest any others am not really a poetry girl myself but i remember my mum used to have this on her wall so I know it would go down well.
Ohhhh idea - nanna paints....... wonder if i can get a painty/ natury one.
something trainy themed for my dad? (nightmail is the only one to spring to mind).
I can always chart the poem if i can find the right ones.
thanks in advance - off to google.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
BEG I can't see the picture
Thanks for you help chicky I was thinking 4 possibly 5 pictures on a blanket, but now I'm thinking proper patchwork, one square cross stitch one square material. Now need to find loads of little fairy patterns! Good job I need to finish my started project and have the next one lined up so gives me lots of time to find them!13 in 2013 challenge 9/130
