  • morning all im finally back, been keeping up with you on my phone, but have only just got real internet!! given up with sky and got a dongal untill they get there a**es in gear

there was a couple of questions that people asked that i wanted to answer

if i could have a full set of threads it would definatly be DMC

if i was to stich a painting it would be this one

oh i cant find it just spent 20 mins looking and i cant find it, it would help if i knew what it was called!! i do know that it is on the website one of you lovley ladies recommended, where they brought the big eye with the butterfly but i cant remember the website, so im pretty useless today

i would love to join the 13 challenge next year

i have started somthing new since moving in, im doing a good marriage and thinking of making it into a cushion

the new place is lovley but as it is a new build we arnt allowed to do anything for a year not even put up a picture!! so i think i will spend the rest of the year making things to go in my daughters room when we can decorate, pillows, blanket, bunting, pictures and curtains so when we can decorate it will be all ready.

if anyone can help with the name of that website i would apprechiate it !

Doing a re-enactment show next weekend, so will be finding way to xstich authentically :p makes a change from luceting.

Just wondering, 2 things re: DMC. Does anyone have any duplicates that they want to exchange?
Also random idea, for those without shade cards, would it be possible to build up a shade card by ppl donating/offering an inch of their threads. Obviously if lots of ppl are interested the person using their thread would be compensated or skein replaced. Also poss a good use for left over threads that could help others.
I know the shade cards are £14-18 but the printed only one is on sale at sew and sew for £3 ( I purchased one). Anyway just thinking aloud, as been pondering it lately, obviously idea needs tweaking etc. Thoughts etc?

Sorry MATI, no idea of the link you're looking for, sure someone else will have it.

I would be up for the 13 in 2013 challenge :j

Regarding the music lessons - you always feel obligated to pay, but I suppose at least it's something worthwhile. Extra lessons used to be free in this county, you just had to show some aptitude and be selected, but since the cutbacks they have started charging £150 per year for extra lessons, which I don't think is unreasonable really, but it means a lot of people have had to give up which is a shame. My son will hopefully start on the piano after the holidays. Drums he can keep for normal music classes :rotfl:

Anyway, going to watch Djokovic then Watson on centre court and do some stitching. Earth is coming along nicely (despite all the confetti stitch!) will post an update soon :)

    Hello Girls

Hope this is not an intrusion, but I wonder if you could have a read of this and let me know what you think.

If I could offer you the whole range of D.M.C. threads for £75 or even better £40 - that is all 447 colours! Would you be interested?

The catch - the threads would only be 50cm (or 25cm) long instead of the usual 8m.

I am thinking of starting up a wee business and I will sell whole sets of threads for £75 or even 25 cm lengths set for £40 each.

I am only sounding you out as I know you are into cross stitch - nothing is set in stone yet. As you know its only me in the house working and I am trying to rack my brains how to raise a wee bit extra money.

Please let me know what you think.

    Thank you and kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

I apologise in advance and I promise I am not encouraging anyone, BUT is there any decent cross stitch sales on online anywhere?
I've just come in to a little bit of money and it's burning a hole in my pocket but I am struggling to find anything decent to spend it on lol
I think I will get some of the threads, if not all of them for Red Riding Hood, and I've bought a cake smoother and a mystery papercrafting box for £10, which is supposed to contain stuff worth £50, so we will see.

But I really want to add to my cross stitch stash! But I like it better when things are on sale, and I just haven't come across anything just yet.

    Thanks in advance.
