    You're welcome, I think :rotfl:

I don't mind people asking, especially as the Dalek chart was a free one anyways, but the least you can do is acknowledge and say thank you afterwards!

Ahhhhh go on FOS, there's bound to be something there that could tempt you :o

There are lots of lovely charts on there but they don't seem to be offering free time as well and I'm trying to be realistic about what I can actually achieve

SOrry if this has already been discussed but as I was just looking through my latest Cross Stitcher, it says the next issue is on sale on 13 June!!! Don't think that's quite right is it?!?!?

They have left the date from the previous month = very poor proof reading and quality control (again!). While the date error doesn't really matter it makes me concerned about the accuracy of the charts

Off topic I know, and sorry not been posting much. I do like to lurk and only post when I have something interesting to say or pass on - which isn't very often!

I got half way through 50 Shades and I have to say it is the worst book I have ever, ever read and I read an awful lot, and will ready pretty much anything.

It was so badly written, had no storyline, the characters were unbelievable and in my opinion poor tripe!

Sorry just had to say that.

Will get back onto topic now and post an update on Winter Angel shortly. Haven't done a massive amount, I'm just trying to fill in all the white of her skirt and its getting a little tedious now.

Loving the Celtic designs by the way, have got my eye on those next. Please stop posting pictures because its making my wishlist bigger by the day! :rotfl:

    Morning

Just to let you know I'm still about haven't done a runner!! checking the board everyday to see everyone's lovely stitching updates.

Still working hard on Noah's Ark - still a fair way to go as I haven't been able to spend as much time doing it as I would've liked. Need to get my skates on as sister in law booked in for c sec on 26th July - 4 weeks today :eek:

Will try and post pic soon
  • Here is an update on my Winter Angel.

I'm just stitching in the white of the skirt at the minute. Its good whilst I catch up with the soaps as I don't need to concentrate too much, but its also a little boring especially stitching in just one colour and seeing how much more I have to do.

Instead of the beads, I bought some metallic thread which is the blue bits on the skirt and also on the flowers.

I must admit to dreading the wings - I know how much I struggled with the Spring Angel!

LL- Angel looking fab!, love the effect with the metallics instead of beads. what stitching technique are you using, can't see it properly.
I usually lurk too, till I have something relevant to post. most of the time, just complimenting ppl on all the lovely work... so inspiring :)

BM- good to know still around. Not nearly enough time in the day to get lots of stitchyness done :(
Just reminded me about mum's stitchy gifts, not started and her b'day is on 22/7 eek, best get move on and finish oriental exchange so can start.

Anyone have any estimation of how long it could take for what is equiv to stitching a border like design on 3 aida bands?

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi everyone,

i'm going to catch up on the last week as a treat inbetween doing other less fun jobs.

however, i've a Big Question to ask. we're getting married (yay! finally!), and our prefered venue has an opening on Sept 22nd THIS YEAR!! less than 3 months away! i've been wracking my brain on all the things that need doing, and the invites are top of the list.

I just can't find ones i like that i can afford. I could make them, but am getting bogged down in stamps, ribbons ect and too many ideas.

On monday whilst driving to work i was musing on how sad i am that i havnt started that Will & Kate sampler from last year's CrossStitcher 238, as i want to alter it to be for me and my OH. Then it dawned on me... that the sampler would make the best invitations - photographs of it of course! so now i'm stuck... either i :
    1. wait till i can stitch the relevant bits (names, dates, bunting, bluebirds, hearts only)
    2. i attack photoshop (lacking skills though)
    3. i recreate the design in one of those xstitch designer programes and use just the pattern.
    4. give up. stick a bow to a blank card, stamp a heart on the front and worry about something else instead :rotfl:

what do you think? quite how bonkers am i being??? :o:rotfl:

I have two polls for you this evening .....

    Poll number 1....
If you were going to buy a complete set of threads, would you buy
    (a) dmc
    (b) anchor
    or (c) madeira ???

    DMC everytime :)
Soulie and Ailsb - that is very rude of people to 'lurk' and ask, and definalty not to say thank you. lets hope they are lurking here and read how cross we all are!!.

Obviosly publicly free charts are different but am sure I don't need to remind people of the dangers of offering **wink wink** to lurkers/ newbies with the copywright dangers involved.

Soulie am tempted by the 15 in 2013 challange but they would need to be small ones - hmmm might have a think about that but not till MUCH later on in the year.

Totally agree on the topic of asking and sharing of charts.

You defo should join in with next years challenge! It would be great to have some people from here in it too.
Small projects are absolutely fine, that's how I've managed to get 4 done already lol And you can roll over any unfinished projects to the following year, as I am planning to do next year.
Oh and you can count knitted projects etc too if you wanted to!
Here is the link to the fb group, you do have to join to see posts, but there's the link for you anyways :D
