Nmm did a lion cross stitch which she bought from China, she was really happy with it and it looked amazing :T

No idea about import - although I have never been charged fees from anything from abroad - the seller usually ticks the 'gift' option or it hasn't been worth enough to be charged duty.

Thanks Louise. Love your little baby pic - it is so sweet. Did you mean you have painted the frame - it looks great. Lovely idea of incorporating Dads name.

Just having a cuppa before I go for shower. Hope to get away by 9am - that means it will probably be 9.30 by our usual standards. DH is still in the land of nod gently snoring away (aw bless). I popped down stairs at about 4.40 and fed the washer (not with anything I was waiting for) its just I hate going away and leaving stuff in the laundry basket - I know, OH is always telling me I'm strange .......

    Take care everyone,

I totally understand. If you don't do it now, you have to do it when you get home, and that's much much worse IMHO. I am the same with washing up, hoovering etc...

All you want to do when you get home is have a cuppa, not clean. Also you need the decks clear for new washing, you don't want to worry about old stuff :)

Back to work today after 10 days off... I don't want to go :( No stitching done at all - but Zante was lovely :) xx

I do exactly the same, put the washing machine on when I go to bed night before holiday and leave it on the airer so laundry basket is empty when we get back from hols.

We're off to Zante in 11 and a half weeks :j:j:j we went two years ago and loved it so are going back to the same place, Argassi. Where were you TMIF?

Hi all, just popped in for a bit of a rant...
Some people are just plain rude!

I got a PM from someone asking where I got the Dalek cross stitch pattern from.
I replied back saying it was a free chart, and gave them the link to the chart and the thread code/colours.
Did they bother to even reply to say thank you?
Nope they didn't, and I know they have been online since as I looked at their profile.
The person in question must be a lurker on this thread as the username doesn't seem familiar.
I just think it's rude not to bother even saying thank you.

Anyways, on a better note, you all know I am taking part in the 15 projects in 2012 challenge.
Well, there the group for 2013 is open too, so I am deciding what my projects for next year will be!

So far I have the following:

    1. Red Riding Hood. (PS there is a sale on HAED by the looks of things).
    2. Freedom. - It's the eagle with the flag. I plan to stitch one eagle every year :)
    3. The London Sampler Scene - That is in the next issue of WOXS but this is just a possibility.

I just have those so far, as I don't know how many I will have left over from this year to stitch next year lol I would say at least 4 of them! (White Lightning, Tiger & Cub, Coronation Steet, 3 Retrievers).
    13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13
    May
    Misson: Complete 20 Stock Cards - 23 of 20
    - DONE! :T
Read all Unread Books: 20 / 47  - oops bought 8 more books, 25p each though!

Soulie, you are a bad, bad influence! :rotfl:

After our discussion about which painting we'd want to stitch the other day I did sort of fall for that Escher one I mentioned. So when you said HAED had a sale on....well....I don't have to tell you all what happened do I?

(First time I'd ever bought from them, really easy too. Dangerously easy!)

    36 pages of stitching.

    (But I love it!)

That should keep you busy for a while then :o I have the chart for 'Starry starry night' in my stash.

David Bowie has become a bit of a UFO although he is staring at me from the top of the bureau! I have just finished a little kitchen sampler that I bought at the Bluewater show earlier in the year. (Have just got my tickets for the September one.)

Started a free card kit of a panda in the pub on Sunday night whilst DH was watching the football.

I also have two baby cardigans finished that need sewing up and two cardigans on the needles for me, one in the lounge and one next to the bed :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I really must look at my stash and decide on an order. I can feel a list coming on ;)

Just popping in quickly before hubby gets home to update you on my progress of a good marriage.

also, I've printed out the free chart for a starry night and that's now sitting in my stash - so many things to stitch so little time.

Soulie - it annoys me when people so that. I had someone pm me asking for a copy of the MP Marriage sampler, they weren't from this thread and I'd not heard from them before. I told the truth and said I'd crossed through the pattern as I'd stitched so couldn't pass it on :)

    Wow, you've been busy :T

I think 'gossiping' looks good on aida band, and is definitely the best material if you're doing a hanging.

Thanks - I've now bought a small heart shaped wire hanger which I think will be very suitable and very quick to do

The RM design is gorgeous - I have a feeling I may have that stitched somewhere - did the chart come from a magazine?

The piece you stitched is very similar but not exactly the same.

As for the second stocking - what a lovely gesture to go to so much effort, I hope the amount of work in them is appreciated

Believe me I am very careful about who I stitch for - I have to be certain they appreciate it :D

    :)

    Thanks for all the encouragement

Spent some time this morning painting and framing this small picture for my new niece
(John was our Dad's name, I like the fact my sister has used it as a middle name)

This is beautiful and a lovely gesture with the name.
