woot good progress made on Oriental piece after 5 hours stitching, now have a kimono, lol. Also seem to be faster at block colour stitching. Now I just have face, back stitch and beading left :) and all my gorgeous beads arrived from ebay this morning :)

Hope everyone else is getting on well

subtle minx - look forward to seeing it :)

You have all been quiet in the cafe today.....

Anyone else into Wimbledon on here? I was watching this afternoon -hoping the young british girl, Laura Robson does well, and of course I will support Andy Murray, but I don't think he is quite up to beating Nadal. :(

    Morning all

Does anyone know when the next Cross Stitch Card Shop is out - the one in the shops seems to have been there for ages. Also, any clue what is in it?

    Emma

I signed up for a trial sub (3 issues for £3) and my confirmation says my first issue is due around 5th July. Sorry can't help with contents as I don't have the previous issue but I will happily post a list of contents here when it arrives

I've stitched 4 of the 5 celtic ladies and I love them all so my vote goes for Celtic Noel. The cross stitching is quite easy as there are blocks of colour and very little back stitch or fractionals. There is a lot of beading but this does make it stunning. My SiL keeps dropping big hints about me doing this for her and I would happily do the xs but just not sure I want to do the beaded borders again.

Has anyone ever stitched a big piece more than once? I think I would get bored.

    Hi ladies.

All the updates are great, keep up the good work :)

Louise. Can't wait to see your Earth progress. I'd like a Moon design like that but a quick google doesn't bring anything up. If anyone comes across a detailed Moon design, please let me know :)

Been getting on with the CC kit, it's coming along nicely. Although I loved stitching the Tiger it's nice to be using bright colours and to see the design taking shape quickly.

  • Managed 2 more finishes at the weekend (though they are only small):j

The Lizzie Kate "We're Not Gossiping" which I stitched on aida band instead of the linen that came with the chart as I want to hang it using a wire hanger and with pre finished edges it's quicker and easier

Also a Mackintosh Rose for a coaster (it will be a birthday pressie).

As the football match was going on and on I also picked up Imagine and did a few more stitches in that. It did occur to me that stitching a mythical creature (unicorn) while waiting to see if England could win a penalty shoot out was highly appropriate but I didn't share this thought with the footie fans in the room :rotfl:

Found out at the weekend that one of my nieces is expecting another baby due late Oct. I had already said I would stitch a Xmas stocking for her first child (who will be 2 by Xmas) so now I will have to stitch 2 stockings. So that's my next project sorted.
I'm going to do this Lizzie Kate Angel as it stitches up quite quickly and it will be easy to change the colours for the 2 versions

I've got a piece of cream with gold lurex thread that I will use for the first one and the dress will be red with green sleeves. Will have to root through my fabric stash for a 2nd piece of fabric but there's no rush for that. I'm also going to use perle threads that have some lurex in them (a suggestion by someone here - can't remember who, might have been 23rdspiral but thank you whoever suggested it).

    Wow, you've been busy :T

I think 'gossiping' looks good on aida band, and is definitely the best material if you're doing a hanging.

The RM design is gorgeous - I have a feeling I may have that stitched somewhere - did the chart come from a magazine?

As for the second stocking - what a lovely gesture to go to so much effort, I hope the amount of work in them is appreciated

    :)

Only once, and there would have to be a VERY good reason for me to ever do a design twice.

I stitched this Scotland design a few years for my Uncle who go married and moved to America, sadly he has passed away now but I stitched another for our house.

It's no fun second time round though.

I also think you should go for the Celtic Noel - she is obviously your favourite and you can get big cat designs in every second magazine these days :D
