  • not read thro yet but OHHH soooooo tempted.

cross stitch card shop subscriber offer

    • 3 Issues for £9.50 by Direct Debit
PLUS free vintage sewing box and DMC threads £9.50
    • £24.55 6 issues for £24.55 by Credit/Debit card
PLUS free vintage sewing box and DMC threads
ermmm excuse my GCSE maths but isn't it cheaper to pay for 2 x 3m then 1x6m??

do you read this as being if you just sign up for the 3 month you still get the box and threads??

Direct debit deals are usually more attractive as you have to actively cancel whereas a credit card order is just a one off.
Seems like a great offer. I've just done the 3 issues for £3 (no free gift of course) otherwise I would be tempted.
Don't forget you can buy these subscriptions via cashback sites :money:

Hi all, just popped in for a bit of a rant...
Some people are just plain rude!

I got a PM from someone asking where I got the Dalek cross stitch pattern from.
I replied back saying it was a free chart, and gave them the link to the chart and the thread code/colours.
Did they bother to even reply to say thank you?
Nope they didn't, and I know they have been online since as I looked at their profile.
The person in question must be a lurker on this thread as the username doesn't seem familiar.
I just think it's rude not to bother even saying thank you.

Anyways, on a better note, you all know I am taking part in the 15 projects in 2012 challenge.
Well, there the group for 2013 is open too, so I am deciding what my projects for next year will be!

So far I have the following:

    1. Red Riding Hood. (PS there is a sale on HAED by the looks of things).
    2. Freedom. - It's the eagle with the flag. I plan to stitch one eagle every year :)
    3. The London Sampler Scene - That is in the next issue of WOXS but this is just a possibility.

I just have those so far, as I don't know how many I will have left over from this year to stitch next year lol I would say at least 4 of them! (White Lightning, Tiger & Cub, Coronation Steet, 3 Retrievers).

    Very annoying, very rude.

Thank you for the link - have resisted temptation so far :D

We're off to Zante in 11 and a half weeks :j:j:j we went two years ago and loved it so are going back to the same place, Argassi. Where were you TMIF?

I went to Tsivili :) Very nice!!!

Soulie, you are a bad, bad influence! :rotfl:

After our discussion about which painting we'd want to stitch the other day I did sort of fall for that Escher one I mentioned. So when you said HAED had a sale on....well....I don't have to tell you all what happened do I?

(First time I'd ever bought from them, really easy too. Dangerously easy!)

    36 pages of stitching.

    (But I love it!)

    You're welcome, I think :rotfl:

Soulie - it annoys me when people so that. I had someone pm me asking for a copy of the MP Marriage sampler, they weren't from this thread and I'd not heard from them before. I told the truth and said I'd crossed through the pattern as I'd stitched so couldn't pass it on :)
    Very annoying, very rude.

Thank you for the link - have resisted temptation so far :D

I don't mind people asking, especially as the Dalek chart was a free one anyways, but the least you can do is acknowledge and say thank you afterwards!

Ahhhhh go on FOS, there's bound to be something there that could tempt you :o

I signed up for a trial sub (3 issues for £3) and my confirmation says my first issue is due around 5th July. Sorry can't help with contents as I don't have the previous issue but I will happily post a list of contents here when it arrives

I was looking through my Cross Stitch Card Shop from last month on Monday and I couldn't find the "next months pages" but the subscription offer featured in the mag ends on 5 July and the competition ends on 30 June ? or 2 July so I'm guessing new mag on 5th July :j

That rennie mackintosh flower got me looking for something similar to stitch quickly for my mums birthday, i found one on a blog site and i think its yours *louise* :rotfl: Do you remember what magazine it was in? linky I think the middle name is a lovely idea :)

Yes (to quote Louise) it was a free supplement. I can't help with what issue but it might be in my box of charts from magazines so will have a look shortly....

    Evening, hope everyone is ok.

Not done any sewing for a few days, I got side tracked with reading the 50 shades of grey trilogy :lipsrseal:p:shhh:;)

I did pick up 2 pictures from the framers today, part of my "I have a drawer full of these, must do something with them" project. I need to get some more ready, but will have to wait until after pay day now. Tried to post some pictures, but keep getting error message so will try again in a few days.

    Have a good evening,

I have Mr Grey Book 1 but I have been busy reading Not Dead Yet (the new Peter James Novel). I've just finished this and am tempted to read Mr Grey but I'm not sure if I can be bothered. There are other books I think I want to read first. I think its a marmite kind of book. I find all the fuss about it quite funny!

Ok so no stitching for me this week :( but planning holiday project :T and think this might be newton bear laying in bed. or the Margaret Sherry free mouse and kite kit that came with Cross Stitch Crazy recently.

I have two polls for you this evening .....

    Poll number 1....
If you were going to buy a complete set of threads, would you buy
    (a) dmc
    (b) anchor
    or (c) madeira ???

    poll number 2....

my last day in the office tomorrow - should i go in super early ??? i.e. leave the house before 6.30am to get in for 7.30am or should I go in at normal time ? (leave at 7.10am)

and yes cross stitcher have printed the wrong date for the next issue.. and next month, its the last of the emily peacock letters. I'm sure they said that on their website recently.

I would opt for DMC, decided gonna keep buying/swapping etc till have full set, like the idea of building set from peoples collection, so OH will have to find something esle to get me for crimble :P Sure I'll come up with something. I also have lots of anchor but plan to sell these on eventually. Am also buying occasionally madeira threads ( mainly metallics).. Think I've got a l'il problem :)

In other poll - I'd go in earlier, if it means leaving earlier, otherwise whats the benefit?

Not even going to look for the HAED sale. Just swapped some evenweave for a pako thread organiser a kit and some Joan Elliot charts. Stitchy ppl are so lovely and generous. :)

Loving all the updates by the way!

As for lurker re: Dalek, that is just too rude!

Flat eric - I'd go for DMC every time, can't pinpoint why as have some Anchor and Madeira but never think to use them. Like some of the hand dyed floss thats around at the moment as well.

As for \Poll 2 I agree go in early if it means finishing early but make sure you do get out early.

I've read 50 shades of grey - have to say didn't do much for me. I felt it was quite poorly written. Having said that I bought it Sunday and finished it Monday. Don't think I'm going to bother with books2 3.

Just realised how mean I sounded about the chart earlier. It wasn't meant like that and I have helped others where I can but this particular request was different. Sorry if I have offended anyone with what I said.

Soulie and Ailsb - that is very rude of people to 'lurk' and ask, and definalty not to say thank you. lets hope they are lurking here and read how cross we all are!!.

Obviosly publicly free charts are different but am sure I don't need to remind people of the dangers of offering **wink wink** to lurkers/ newbies with the copywright dangers involved.

Ailsb I was beinginng to think it was just me who thought 50 shades of Grey was badly written. I couldn't get passed the 2nd chapter before i gave it up as a boring bad job. spoken to sooo many people who are obsessed with them (in fact I think they believe he is a real person lol) keep being told to attempt it again but erm.....NOO. and as far as the p0rn element goes I've read MUCH better!!!!

Soulie am tempted by the 15 in 2013 challange but they would need to be small ones - hmmm might have a think about that but not till MUCH later on in the year.

Flat Eric: poll 1: DMC. I find anchor feels thicker (am i imagining it??) and maderia too wiry. I have bought anchor occasionally when the store didn't have DMC or I have fallen in love with a colour.

Poll 2: go in late finish early??

no stitchy news here. but my glow in the dark threads and marble blue aida (and new needles) have arrived. fabby ebay seller stitchitywitchity. good price, cheap postage and prompt delivery.

Have found the red arrow chart Nykied sent me a while ago but does anyone know of any nice small 'inflight' plane charts before I 'go google' tomorrow??
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
