Spent some time this morning painting and framing this small picture for my new niece
(John was our Dad's name, I like the fact my sister has used it as a middle name)

Haha yeah it's my blog - I must post some updates. I got bored because all the pics took so long to upload.

That was in a booklet which came with a magazine a few years ago - I might still have it somewhere, I will look tonight :)

    Evening, hope everyone is ok.

Not done any sewing for a few days, I got side tracked with reading the 50 shades of grey trilogy :lipsrseal:p:shhh:;)

I did pick up 2 pictures from the framers today, part of my "I have a drawer full of these, must do something with them" project. I need to get some more ready, but will have to wait until after pay day now. Tried to post some pictures, but keep getting error message so will try again in a few days.

    Have a good evening,

Thats how I read it chicky.

Got IT Crowd finished except for framing. Will do that when we get back from Chester (off there tomorrow). Dropped a couple of clangers with stitching the words but have decided just to ignore it - it makes it unique. :o

Love everyones updates. Came across this on ebay yesterday

Is this the one people were mentioning earlier?? I like it. Have been wondering about ordering from China but still a little unsure. Do we have to pay extra taxes on things we import? Will have to see how many pennies come back from Chester :D

Will try to catch up with your posts properly over the next couple of days.

I've stitched 4 of the 5 celtic ladies and I love them all so my vote goes for Celtic Noel. The cross stitching is quite easy as there are blocks of colour and very little back stitch or fractionals. There is a lot of beading but this does make it stunning. My SiL keeps dropping big hints about me doing this for her and I would happily do the xs but just not sure I want to do the beaded borders again.

Has anyone ever stitched a big piece more than once? I think I would get bored.

Not a big piece, but I did do a single red rose in cross stitch, blackwork and also beadwork, that wasn't that bad as different techniques though.

Nmm did a lion cross stitch which she bought from China, she was really happy with it and it looked amazing :T

No idea about import - although I have never been charged fees from anything from abroad - the seller usually ticks the 'gift' option or it hasn't been worth enough to be charged duty.
