Evening all
Just wanted to say hi after my week's holiday in the backwaters of the Lake District. The cottage we stayed in was very disappointing but we had a few nice days then 2 solid days of rain!!!
Did get to see the Olympic torch on Thursday night though which was quite exciting.
Will catch up tomorrow and post more then

I'm defrosting my inside freezer this morning. Its taking AGES! As per usual I'm making promises that I will keep things nice and tidy in future with designated drawers for certain foods rather than let it become the mess of disorganization it always end up. We shall see....
With the abundance of sport that is on the box today, I couldn't have a better excuse to get plenty of stitching in so I will, I hope settle on the sofa at some point although I don't know what I shall stitch as I have fallen out of love with the snail.
What is everyone else planning on stitching this afternoon??0 -

we have a freezer drawer a week. e.g. week 1's meals in top, week 2 in 2nd etc.
no stitchy for me with trouble 1 and 2 around. that and the tax credits just bought me a new laptop so i need to play and get it up to date with all my bookmarks/ usernames/ mail etc.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
We explored a little - found a couple of little crafty shops buried in back streets of Grange-over-Sands and also Barrow in Furness so I did get a little craft fix. Had a lovely sail on Windermere which was my DD thought was ace.
As for today's stitching, still trying to complete my Home Sweet Home but had visitors as it is my DS's 1st birthday on Tuesday.

I put the plastic on top of the design and marked round it (managed to get marker pen on fabric but I wont tell anyone that bit :shhh:) then cut it out and just popped plastic, fabric and card into frame and it appears to have worked. yaaay :j:j Looking forward to seeing your pics.
Thanks for the tips - I'll give it a go and see if it works!0 -
Visiters have left early as they want to get home in time for the footy:j
That means I only have to make tea for DH and me and then can finally get some stitching done. I want to finish "We're not Gossiping" and I'm also doing a small Rennie Macintosh inspired design to go into a coaster as a gift.
sweetcarer - your blue and white sampler is really looking good
Soulie - love it when you can see things start to take shape (eagle's wing)
Emma welcome back - sorry you didn't have better weather
FlatEric - next time you buy a freezer consider frost free; life's too short to scrape ice off freezer walls
Hope everyone has a good evening with some quality stitching time0 -

Having a little break from ironing - DS1 (12) actually ASKED if he could do some for me  I swear, that boy is just too good to be true lol:rotfl: He is a little sweetheart though, even has a cuppa waiting for me when I get in on the evenings I'm working - just hope it lasts once he hits his teensflowerofscotland wrote: »

yes thats the plan for the next freezer purchase. I do recall we did look at a frost free freezer back when we purchased our freezer but for some reason we didn't end up buying it. I think it was a combination of they didn't have a matching fridge (we need under the counter options) and the shop where we were (Co*met) refused any discount whatsoever even though we were looking to buy [STRIKE]half the shop[/STRIKE] all our white goods plus hoover/cooker/tv! I think they might have offered free delivery (worth £15) but I have a sneaky suspicion that they couldn't even offer us that!
I've got the football on but I'm not really interested in watching it. I might start the beside the sea kit instead and watch why are we getting fat ? (it was on bbc2 in the week).0
