Ooh...good question.
I'd want to do something by Escher -you know those pen and ink sketches of impossible perspective with the little figures going up and down crazy angled staircases?
I wonder if anyone does patterns :bimbles off to Google it:
Edited to add : Uh oh...there's a HAED! I blame you for this, Louise!

Doing this from my work computer so hope boss doesnt see me.Does anyone remember the website, I am sure I seen it advertisedin here about selling small lengths of threads (eg 1m) quite cheaply.I have ordered what I need for my wee anniversery card I am going to dobut I have read on their facebook page there might be some delay in delivery - I was hoping to start it this weekend and do it when he is sleeping and finish it next weekend - our anniversery is July 7th - so need to be done by then or before it to set it all up.This is why I am also looking for the card.Hope you can help - if need do I will just have to wait and try and do it when I am at work in my lunchHope all are wellsweetcarer
apologies for formatting I am using EXCEL at time of writing and copying it over to here.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Shelly - love, love, love your Tiger, it's absolutely stunning. Have you decided where you are going to hang it?
Thanks ladies for the lovely comments!
Not yet Ailsb. Possibly above the stairs or in the office/study/computer room so that I can see it everyday.
Louise. I have no idea! I do like the piece Mags linked to though.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Didn't manage to post pic yesterday - but here it is now. Seems as though it has taken ages to do. Its not really my cup of tea but it will go down with the next lot of stuff to charity shop or school/church fair.
[link removed as I'm still not allowed to post them!]
Take care everyone,

sorry to quote a message from a few pages back, but I just wanted to ask how you assembled this one (the home sweet home mini pic). I did a similar design (butterfly/flowers) and couldn't work out how to put it in the frame properly - did you cut the material to size then just place all the layers in the frame? I'm quite new to framing stuff!
loving all the stitchy updates.. I should have a couple of photos of finished projects to post soon!0 -

Oops...I should have typed a disclaimer:rotfl:
That looks mega complicated but would look amazing:cool:
I have been tempted to tackle the Mona Lisa - not because Da Vinci is a particular favourite but because it's such a famous piece of work it would be interesting to see it stitched.
I also like the colours in The Scream, and think it would be good to stitch but I have to admit it does creep me out a little:rotfl:

afternoon all
Just finished washing and ironing a piece that I have been stitching over the last few evenings - I'm hoping I don't need to say who it is.....
I am stitching Matt Smith next and framing them as a pair for my Dr Who mad nephew.:D
I do worry about some of these celebrity cross stitches - I have only ever stitched one, years ago of Donny Osmond for my Mum. You can imagine how I felt when he opened it and said 'Ohhh Cliff Richard - I love him!':rotfl::rotfl:
Louise - it's a very good likeness, can't believe it only took you a few evenings.
I've got the Cliff Richard one I did for my Mum, though to be honest it could be any man :rotfl:0 -
Louise. Love it, looks really good!
Tiger is finished!! (I think)
I have done a few whiskers freehand as I didn't like the amount and placement of the charted ones but I'm not convinced they are staying so they are only loosely stitched. Haven't ironed it yet either until I decide if they whiskers are staying. Don't know why one area of green looks odd, doesn't look like that in real life
This is what I'm doing next,
This was bought by my Mum when she wanted to give cross stitching a go. After sorting the threads she decided it looked too hard so gave it to me.
I was always going to give her it back after stitching it as she wanted to put it up for when I have kids but as that seems unlikely now I suggested giving it to a cousin of mine who is expecting her first in Sept.
At least it will be up on a wall and not languishing in a cupboard.
Shelly - the tiger is simply stunning, quite breathtaking.0 -
Took cats in to be framed on Tuesday, got a phone call today to say it was ready, so here's the finished piece:
I did take in 2 more pieces to be framed, have a drawer full of completed designs so determined to get organised.
And here's the one I started at the weekend, just over half done.
Hope everyone has a good weekend,0 -

Yeah...I know all about that....:o:o:o:rotfl:
Your cats look amazing all framed up, you can tell a lot of love and dedication has gone into that picture :T:T:TCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi littlemonkey - this is what I did and it seems to have worked. I put the plastic on top of the design and marked round it (managed to get marker pen on fabric but I wont tell anyone that bit :shhh:) then cut it out and just popped plastic, fabric and card into frame and it appears to have worked. yaaay :j:j Looking forward to seeing your pics.
Shelly - tiger is amazing. Well done.
JCS1 - Cats looks so life like. Love your hearts too.
Louise very good likeness. :T
sweetcarer - hope you manage to sort your anniversary card in time.
I have started the IT Crowd pic - I know I said I wasn't going to start anything before I get back from Chester next week - but you know what its like. I sorted out the fabric and the threads and before I realised what was happening...... Quite a simple pic but it is quite big (doing it on 14ct) but I should be able to pick up just a plain black frame from £shop or Wilkos I hope. Up to now the design could have been a placemat or something (just border and scroll things done. But now a pair of legs have appeared and I'm going to have to try and hide it when DS is about as I was hoping to get it all finished before he sees it. Once he sees the figures and text in it he will realise its for him.
Oh nearly forgot - I came across this if anyone can make use of the free bit - http://www.lucieheaton.com/ I will not be held responsible for any spends.
Re classics - I like Mona Lisa too. Not really classic but I have got a set of little Art Deco designs in stash and might start them soon but NOT before Chester (promise)
Hope you all get some stitchy time over the weekend.
