One of my other hobbies is sea fishing. (Yes. I know I live about as far from the sea as it's possible to be. Shush!). Tomorrow's trip to Aberdovey has been cancelled. Boo!

On the positive side, I won't have to spend all day on a boat in the pouring rain and as I've taken the day off work anyway I can slob on the sofa cross stitching guilt free! Woo hoo! :j

Louise. Love it, looks really good!

Tiger is finished!! (I think) :D
I have done a few whiskers freehand as I didn't like the amount and placement of the charted ones but I'm not convinced they are staying so they are only loosely stitched. Haven't ironed it yet either until I decide if they whiskers are staying. Don't know why one area of green looks odd, doesn't look like that in real life :o

This is what I'm doing next,
    Photo-0001-5.jpg

This was bought by my Mum when she wanted to give cross stitching a go. After sorting the threads she decided it looked too hard so gave it to me.
I was always going to give her it back after stitching it as she wanted to put it up for when I have kids but as that seems unlikely now I suggested giving it to a cousin of mine who is expecting her first in Sept.
At least it will be up on a wall and not languishing in a cupboard.

Thanks Louise, I'm really pleased with it :)

Have just spoken to my Mum about the CC kit I'm doing next. We have decided that as we know my cousin is having a boy I'm going to change the colour of the slide steps from pink to blue and leave out the flower. I have found 4 shades of blue from an old kit to replace the pink and as they aren't branded I hope I have enough.

Louise - David Tennant is a really good likeness. I few evening it would have taken me a few weeks.

Soulie - glad yesterday went as well as it could and that your son coped well.

Okay, so we haven't had a random question for a while - here's one.

If you were to stitch a reproduction of a painting by a famous artist, which would you choose and why?

I have stitched a 'waterlilies' by Monet in the past but doubt I would do one like that again - it was on pre printed fabric and I felt a little cheaty when I stitched it lol

    morning all
up early today as Ds has a sponsored walk in the peaks packed him off with layers and waterproofs so thought id say hello.

Shelly Tiger looks fantastic and great idea personalising the slide to make it more boyish.

cant think of a famous picture id love to stitch but im drawn towards monet or van gogh at the mo just because i like their work.

if anyone would like to stitch flaming june by lord Frederick Leighton i have the chart, it was in a bag of mags i got at a carboot
    SPC~12 ot 124

At the moment the painting that I would stitch - and have considered doing many times, who knows it may happen in the future- is Van Gogh's Starry Night. Whilst looking for an image of this to show I came across this site which is offering this chart, and others, free of charge. http://www.freecrossstitchonline.com/past-patterns2.html

I also like Tree of Life by Klimt. I am stitching a Rainbow Tree which is based on this design but larger and has more colours.

I like this random question and look forward to reading what others fancy stitching.

    wow!!!!! Its amazing :T:T:T

Yay Its Friday :T the weekend is creeping ever closer :T I am looking forward to leaving the office later and not having to return until Monday :j meaning time for stitching and general relaxing. Snail is progressing well. I promise picture tomorrow/sunday :j I'm not sure how the finished piece will turn out as I'm using vaerigated threads and it looks daft at the moment so I'm hoping that when the backstitch etc is done, it will look as it is meant to!

Thanks for pointer re stuff I need for my trousers :)
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday and a fab stitchy weekend planned

PS if I was to stitch some art ? well I think it might have to be Banksy or that Jack Vettriano bloke ?!
