C'mon - spill! We need to know :D

    :o:o:o

Last night I bought, downloaded, printed, sorted fabric and threads then started this.

    eartheurope_LRG.jpg

Hubby saw I had been looking at it, he thinks it would look great in the hallway and suggested I stitch it next. I had the perfect sized piece of black aida which acrosstown send me by accident and told me to just keep.

    I guess it's a bit of a break from the girly/princessy stuff I have stitched lately :)

Summer hols start next weekend so I should have more time for stitching - I still intend to get Circe completed soon. I will do a week on Earth then get her finished, there's not too much to do but the gold metallic was getting on my nerves a bit.

Soulie - great progress on your eagle.

Louise - I love this design and can't wait to see your updates.

No stitching for me this weekend went away with hubby (son stayed with his Grandad) for an early birthday break to Chester. Managed a trip to Abakhan, for those sewers out there they have a sale in store this Wednesday evening and all day Thursday. Bought a ball of wool to kniw a scarf and some canvas to make myself a bag. decided I had enough stitchy stuff to go at.

Having said that Louise thanks for the website link for the free Starry Night pattern. Need to get a new print cartridge and will then print it out.

I was reading their site and along with the free small charts, every 2 weeks they will put up two larger charts which you can download for free for a fortnight. We got lucky with the starry nights one just at the right time lol :)

I just need to remember to keep checking back regularly :D

    Morning all

Does anyone know when the next Cross Stitch Card Shop is out - the one in the shops seems to have been there for ages. Also, any clue what is in it?

  • The updates look great, love the Tiger and cats both look stunning!

Quick Q, I have purchased a bath mitt and small towel in dusky pink for my mothers b'day but I'm not sure how to personalise the band on each. Does anyone know where I can find free art deco / nouveau, macintosh border/ flowers etc. Any ideas what to write?

Any advice greatly appreciated as always!

In other stitchy news. I finished my summer exchange piece and sent it off to Texas. By the time I had finished and 'got creative' trying to mount it looked more crafty than stitchy, oops. Also was first time using metallics.

I am still working on my oriental exchange and will also incorporate some metallics and possibly try some beading..ooh it's all soo exciting :) I have also purchased DMC 'Cats chorus' kit from a forum so will look forward to starting that one soon also. Busy Busy with soo many stitchy birthday pressies coming up :)

You have certainly been busy. Would love to see some pics.

Have you looked at the DMC Club site that was mentioned here recently - there may be something suitable

Just been mulling over the 'famous artist' question and have been having a nosey round this site

    Scarlet Quince

Smaller version of Starry Night (230 x 181stitches)for those who like it :)

Free Mini Starry Night (100 x 80 stitches) that could be done in well under a fortnight I reckon

Not a famous one but how amazing would this look framed on a wall: Earth from Space

Edit to add a view from our side: Europe from space

This site is fabulous. I love the one you have chosen to do.

But there are lots of others which are just stunning e.g.
Orchard in Spring by Monet which is a painting I haven't seen before

Sun and Moon Flowers by GD Leslie

Cafe Terrace by night - Van Gogh

And I haven't looked at everything. Too many choices, too little time :D

sound like everyone had busy stitchy weekends
love the photos they really are brilliant
you planet earth looks stunning on black Louise
i think the guardian angel is beautiful and i am drawn towards stitching an angel of some kind but i keep holding back, as ive mentioned my niece is very poorly and i know stitching at this time the angel would always be associated with her and now.
spent the weekend tidying the cupboard under the stairs where most of my stitchy stuff is crammed into its now in some kind of order which is good. This week i plan to finish the twins stitchy for my brother and get both his and mums framed.

    i hope all are well

Yup, about time I uploaded some pics. I will add some to Flikr soon and post once done.

I checked the site but nothing yet... found a cpl of ideas in old mags though. want it to be simple and not take too long as b'day mid july but also want it to look good. With a small one to do for OH bro and the 3 things for mum, I think I may have been over ambitious. Been soo sore and tired last few days that no stitching done :( and oriental exchange needs to be posted by 8th july... eek

Louise - new project looks fab. I actually enjoyed stitching on black aida :) Good luck with it
