Hi guys, well i've got some good news and some bad news or funny depending on how you look at it :rotfl:
Good News, i finished Czar :j:j:j
Closeup
Bad News, i decided to kiss the ground yesterday, i slipped on a drain, hit my face, knee and wrist on the concrete. I know have a fat lip, badly bruised wrist and a sore knee :rotfl: My hand/wrist which took most of the fall is a lovely shade of black/blue/purple and swollen so probably no stitching for a little whileAt least i got Czar finished before i fell

Oh no! nmm, get well soon. Are you sure your wrist doesn't need X-raying? I hope it gets better soon.0

Hi, thanks elliep
I don't think it needs an x-ray, i can move my fingers and its not that sore now, only hurts if i twist it or pick up something heavy. I took a photo for prosperity :rotfl:

Ouch!! If the wrist pain hangs around I'd get an xray. When my Dad had a car accident his fractured wrist wasn't picked up immediately. It was only after a few days that he complained his wrist was still sore that the fracture was found. He could use the wrist and fingers ok so he wasn't going to mention it!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Ok nmm I've got to ask, why did you kiss the ground! Lol xxx13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Czar is stunning! He's on my 'wishlist'
Sorry to hear about your wrist though! it looks really sore!
I apologise in advance for the length of my post and the amount of pics, but I have a major catch up to post lol
Hi everyone! Another member checking in after a long absence.
A big welcome back to all the others who are returning and *waves* to all the newbies to the thread.
Is anyone else doing the Cross Stitch Crazy Challenge 2012 on facebook?
It's where you are supposed to pick 1 project per day for the first 15 days of January and stitch a little on each one, then those 15 are the ones to be completed during 2012.
Sounds like a BIG challenge to me, but it certainly has motivated me to stitch more. And I know some stitchers don't like to plan out what they will stitch throughout the year, but some do.
BTW you didn't HAVE to start on the 1st January (I didn't, I found it late), so if anyone else wants to join in, it's not too late
Anyways my 15 are:
Day 1: Born Free's 'Tiger and Cub'
Day 2: 'Elephant'
Day 3: 'Retrievers'
Day 4: 'West Yorkshire Map'
Day 5: Coronation Street's 'Now and Then'
Day 6: 'Piglet'
Day 7: 'White Lightning'
Day 8: Tatty Teddy's 'A Flower for You'
Day 9: Coronation Street's 'Hilda's Ducks'
Day 10: 'Dalek Victory'
Day 11: 'Christmas Kisses'
Day 12: 'Peacock'
Day 13: 'Silent Flight'
Day 14: Not decided yet.
Day 15: 'Winter on the Green'
Day 3's Project: 'Retrievers,' was a UFO. I originally started this on 14/01/05 and is probably about 60% finished (the bottom part, there is more on the right but not shown in the pic). I only managed about 1 hour worth of stitching (at the top), on the day I re-started it, but it's a start, and I really hope those coffee stains come out!
Day 4's Project: 'West Yorkshire Map', I started last year, on 26/09/11, it was meant to be a Christmas pressie for my Uncle, but well, I didn't get it done lol so I am hoping this challenge will motivate me to get it done for this Christmas lol
Anyways I can't post the picture on the fb group just in case my uncle accidentally sees it! I do have an album on fb which he is blocked from seeing, and I don't think he will see it here so I can post pics here without worrying!
Up until adding this to the 2012 15 Challenge I had stitched all but the river, I also re-stitched the purple lines as they didn't look right, and I have noticed a small mistake on the trees, so they will be re-stitched in the next session. 1 hour and 15 minutes worth of stitching in this session. 14 hours and 15 minutes in total
I didn't do any stitching on Day 5 as I was ill, but that project is a WIP.
Day 6's project was stitched on but it seems I made a mistake when I originally started on it, I used 2 threads instead of 1, so I am hoping to get the kit again from eBay (it was a free cover kit with a magazine), rather than unpick it all lol
Day 7's Project: 'White Lightning', a UFO that I originally started on 07/01/05, back then I would start from the middle, nowadays I tend to start in the top left, so there are about 20-30 stitches in the middle (not seen on pic), from where I originally made a start.
The pic shows 2 days worth of stitching as I really enjoyed stitching him, plus Day 8's project only needs backstitch adding to it, and I couldn't face it lol. 16 hours and 50 minutes worth of stitching over 2 days.
No pic for Day 9's Project. I did do some stitching, but ended up unpicking most of it lol. I will post a pic after the next session!
Day 10's Project: 'Dalek Victory', the fist project which is a new start. I just stitched the first arms of one colour, but I found this way a lot better. You can just about make out the words 'To Victory', the yellow is actually the highlight.
Once again I apologise for the length of my post!
Question of the Day: For those who use both hands to stitch, which hand do you use underneath?
And are you right handed or left handed?
I use my right hand underneath and my left hand on top.13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13

wow on finishing Czar its looks amazing,
sorry to hear about your trip - dont forget to send a postcard next time lol take care with your wrist and dont strain it any more by stitching too much.
Soulie I dont think that I could have that many projects on the go at once. I tend to forget where I am on some of the older projects that I have started. I may go back to them someday and use my pen to mark out the squares when I can be bothered.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

I scan my charts then print them out, so I can highlight what I have done as I go alongWay much easier and that way you don't ruin an original chart, just in case of
