I copy my charts too, so I can highlight as I go along. That way I always know exactly where I am when I pick up a project, and I've always got a nice fresh and new copy (well, original) chart if the one I'm using gets too tatty.

    Hello everyone!

I don't knnow if anyone still gets it judging by the chat on last years thread but if anyone does still get Cross Stitcher but could anyone ;);) me the Share A Little Happiness chart from issue 241??

    Happy stitching
    (sorry for the ramble)

I still get Cross Stitcher and actually like the changes they made but then I am a sewer as well as a cross stitcher and like making cushions etc so the new features appeal to me. Have sent you a PM about the issue you are looking for.
  • Thanks for a fascinating update. I know I couldn't stick to that sort of plan so I really admire what you are doing and look forward to seeing how you get on during the year. You certainly seem to have made progress so far.

I sympathise with your problem on the using 2 threads instead of 1 as I have done this on a cover kit in the past (a Flower Fairies design I was doing for a round robin). Do you know which magazine the kit came from as I may have it in my stash and you would be welcome to have it as i rarely stitch Disney designs.

Day 6's project was stitched on but it seems I made a mistake when I originally started on it, I used 2 threads instead of 1, so I am hoping to get the kit again from eBay (it was a free cover kit with a magazine), rather than unpick it all lol

nmm, well done on finishing Czar - he looks fantastic and sorry to hear about your wrist. I'd get it x-rayed just in case.

Soulie, I couldn't do that many projects at once - I'm bad enough with two! I stitch two-handed and I have my left hand underneath. I write with my right hand but do most other things with my left...

czar is lovelllly nmm. but doh for kissing the ground!

Soulie now THAT is a challange.... good luck.

I'm really getting on with troutbeck (you can almost tell what it is) so will try and post a pic later when i am at home.

soo bored at work (for a change) seems the 3 meetings with managers about it has fallen on deaf ears so am simply not bothering anymore.

hoping to sort out my stitchy stash over the weekend.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

nmm - Ouch, sorry to hear about your accident! Hope your wrist is better soon :( Czar looks fantastic though, what's your plans for him?

Soulie - Welcome back :D Good luck with all your challenges. 15 projects in 2012? I hope some of them are keyrings :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ps. to answer your Q: I am right handed and when using both to stitch I use my right hand on top and my left hand underneath.

Soulie, good luck with your challenge!
I couldn't have that many on the go myself, one at a time is enough for me :D

In answer to your question, I am right handed and when stitching both hands can be underneath at the same time. My right hand is used to push the needle through from the top, then it goes underneath to pull the needle through, then it pushes the needle back through to the top again. My left hand stays underneath all the time to guide the needle into the correct hole when pushing needle from underneath.
I have tried a few times to stitch using my right hand to push needle through from top and my left to then push back from underneath but I couldn't get on with it, felt really odd.

Well, it certainly is motivating me to stitch more, that's for sure!
The Piglet 'Watercolour' kit was from Cross Stitcher, I have no idea what issue # though, as back then, I used to cut out the charts and put them in a huge binder lol

haha. no, no keyrings  Most of my projects are big ones LOL
I should have put links to the pics of my 15 in my post, will edit that in later.

Thank you all for you replies re. two handed stitching.
I am also right handed, but use the opposite hands to you lot!
Right hand underneath to pull the needle through then back up, left hand to push the needle in and pull the thread through.
Then again, I pretty much only use my right hand to write with and everything else with my left hand (I tried learning guitar once, but it was hard on a 'normal' guitar, and the friend teaching me didn't have a left handed one).

Okay, another question, those that stitched Margaret Sherry's 'Christmas Kisses' freebie kit with WOXS a couple of month ago, did any of you find the quality of the thread awful?
It's been a while since I stitched a freebie kit, but the threads were always of good quality, and usually DMC or Anchor.
But while stitching it last night one half of the threads would just fall apart, so that one strand was longer than the other if you know what I mean?
Also the needle is thin and bowed!

nmm- czar looks great! Hope your wrist recovers soon.

soulie- wow, what a challenge  I couldn't manage that, I usually have only one thing at once, sometimes two. Looking forward to seeing how it goes for you.

When stitching two handed I have my right hand under the frame to poke the needle through the hole and my left hand on top to pull it up and poke it back through. I'm right handed and have quite poor control of my left hand, so I can only use the left where I can see what its doing!!

when stitching 2 handed I have my left on top and right underneath. I'm right handed and I think I do it that way way because my right hand is more coordinated without the help of being able to see it than my left.
