You what? Seriously?
I would have sweetly pointed out that it costs around £20 to make and many hours of work to complete (if you costed it at minimum wage that all adds up!!)Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Arghhhhh this annoys me no end as well, some people just don't get it! I know some unfortunately but I don't waste my time on them anymore.
I finally managed to get my butt in gear and take a photo or two...
Here is Durham when I last posted, around May last year (gulp!)
And here it is now
feel like a little progress is being made.
Finally here is a pic of Santa in his frame, I am so pleased how it turned out! Sorry about the massive pics but at least you can see the detail
Thanks for the info about the show at Bluewater, I've decided to go and I can't wait! I've persuaded mum to come with me so we'll probably go on the Saturday or Sunday and make a day of it :T (and try not to spend too much hehe)
Anyway best get off to bed, night all xCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
I love the blue mount you have got for Santa, not something I would have thought would match in theory but it goes really well.
What a pity it's so long until Christmas when you can have it on displayCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. How dare they!! That's awful, and even if they were thinking it (which is bad enough) they shouldn't say it!!!
I've been asked to stitch a picture for someone I barely know and as it's a gift for her to give to her mother and we're not friends we're looking at it as a business arrangement. The picture is 6x8 inches and she will be paying quite a bit for it. Not even close to minimum wage for me but at least she understands the effort and time that will go into it.
I never understand people who don't appreciate handmade gifts. I'd rather receive something handmade, it's evidence of effort and proof of time they spent thinking about me! Sadly not everyone is like us, they can have boring shop bought presents from now on!0 -

Apologies if this is the wrong forum for such a request but my good lady Wife is looking for a pattern called "in her Garden " she doesn't want the kit, says she's got all the threads (I personally want to trim the collection down, but what do I know), she just wants the pattern.
Is anyone able to help, again apologies is the wrong forum / thred just thought would give it a shot to surprise my wife.
I don't think that design is available as just a chart. I love it, but wouldn't enjoy stitching it myself. Good suggestion to look on eBay & please send your wife in to say hello.sophieandemily wrote: »Happy new year to everyone long time no speak!

Been browsing back through last few pages will start at the beginning with a cuppa in a bit can anyone suggest where to buy lizzie kate charts I love the alphabet ones but can't find them as a chart
take care everyone
How rude! Never stitch anything for them again.
Now tell us about the lovely stitchy things you got for Christmas. I had some funky coloured aida from my mum.I love the blue mount you have got for Santa, not something I would have thought would match in theory but it goes really well.

I think Santa is beautifully mounted & framed too. It's still winter, so hang it up until spring...I would!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hello everyone!
Now up to Part 2. BUT.... oh youse are making me spend money, not too much YET... but I've a wish ist as long as my arm and its not even just kits but lap frames, gold needles, bobbin boxes etc etc.
I aso for the first time used the wash off pen - what a difference! So much quicker and easier - now it woud have been even better if I had ooked at the pattern more often cause I forgot a whole section and had to unpick a good bit to fit it in, but the grids helped a lot. I was just doing a small love birds in a cage from this months cross stitcher free booklet, I have washed it and now waiting for it to dry so OH can iron and frame it for me tomorrow.
On frames Poundland had looooaaaadds of frames in loads of sizes and seemingly quite good quality - all for oh yes a QUID! I got a few but will have to add to it soon.
Just about to finish the Cath Kidson design I will try and post some pics of both tomorrow.
I am still mainly doing one handed stitching but I am feeling a good bit better so could be back to normal service by early next week I hope, with the plans I have running through my head I'd need to be:rotfl:
I don't knnow if anyone still gets it judging by the chat on last years thread but if anyone does still get Cross Stitcher but could anyone;) me the Share A Little Happiness chart from issue 241??
Happy stitching

The Lizie Kate alphabet charts which I have stitched only come as a part kit - chart plus overdyed threads (no fabric).0 -
Thanks for your lovely comments about Santa
The blue is actually more green in real life but something about the tone (or is it the hue? ) really works with the other colours, which is excellent cause that mount was more expensive than any of the others I looked at

Glad you're feeling better Benny and I hope you can get to stitching normally soon.
I didn't manage to do any stitching last night after sorting out the photos, but I've got nothing planned for tonight so I will be making much progress all being well! :T
Am off to book my tickets for the show at Bluewater, then I'd better get on with some work!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
sk00bie1 - Love the santa he looks great!
sophieandemily- that is so rude , I wouldn't be making or buying them anything in future after that! That's just the sort of comment my husband makes if I make him something, I think some people just don't appreciate the time and effort that goes into it.
Some minor stitchy progress here, but I need a decent light so that I can stitch more in the evenings.
I got given an old sewing machine months ago, and I finally got it out of the cupboard yesterday. Now I just have to figure out how to do somethingI have a feeling YouTube will become my best friend as I have no idea what to do with it. Hopefully I won't let it distract me too much from my stitching!

Am with the people who like stroking material - have got a new jacket that is so soft and lovely it has been stroked all day!:o
I'm not a fabric stroker but I do love going through my stash every now and then to remind myself of all the lovely kits I have to look forward to :rotfl:
sk00bie. Love the Santa! The mount really sets him off.
I got a couple of hours stitching in yesterday but then Lewis came on and the stitching got put away.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
