Is that the hot air balloon one? I seen advertised in a website - looks really nice - quite tempting.
    sweetcarer ;)

I'm waiting for a EP graphic design lettering sampler, I think the balloon is in next months, I'll ;) for you, and the free Asda chart was cute Russian dolls. Sorry, wasn't sure which bit you were asking about!
ok girles..... November 2013 - st*tch and b*tch retreat..... lake district?

whos up for it??? any other venue suggestions??

Ooh, yes please! I'm east midlands, near someone else (who i think changed their name so I'm not sure who now!). One of my stitchy friends on fb runs a camping and caravan site up in Yorkshire. Could be an idea but might eb too far north. I really want to go to Yorkshire anyway so hope to visit this summer.
    - wherever we go we'd need a day room / living room / village hall (!) for us to meet up in and stitch! :T and some good local craft shops for a trip out!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!

  • Just catching up after a busy weekend and work.

The wedding was lovely and not spoiled by the weather as they had a large marquee and it wasn't too windy.

In stitchy news I have finished the XS on my Jubilee cushion :j and now just need to make it into a cushion.

23rd spiral - that Celtic Rose fabric is lovely and will be ideal for Stonehenge

JCS1 - thanks for the heads up about the bookmark. I like the design and intend to stitch it; I checked mine and although the design would just fit on the fabric it is too big for the backing paper so I agree it has to be done on 16 or 18 count. I will also complain as this is what is printed on the address sheet that came with my subscription copy
"We really value and wish for you to have the best service possible. You can reach us by phone email post or online. So get in contact with your questions, queries, praise or problems to help us help you". I will be quoting this !

I am one of the fans of the new format and I thought this month's issue was particularly good with quite a number of designs I would like to stitch. I've got every copy since issue 1 (and I even have a design in either issue 2 or 3 - the magazine started by asking readers to send in designs). I think it was brave of them to change direction but it was needed as all the mags were becoming too similar. When I was economising I cancelled all my magazine subs except this one and it would probably be the one I would keep again if I needed to do the same.

The "stitch and !!!!!" weekend sounds great fun and I wish I could join you but I am a full time carer for my DH at the weekends. My sewing class organises trips like this and they always have a great time. They plan in advance who is bringing what food/drink and usually agree to stitch a project together (although sometimes not much stitching is done:rotfl:)

It' s a lovely sunny day here - I feel so sorry for those people affected by the floods.

AM. Fizzy Moon is coming along nicely.

nmm. Nice to see the beginnings of a Wolf! Glad your dog is much better and I hope your finger gets sorted soon.

Louise. Lovely progress, can't wait to see her finished.

mrs-mp. Love the Lily and balloon design.

    JCS. Love the bookmark.

happy-chappy. Welcome to the cafe! Personally I use zip lock bags for storing threads. I bought them from ebay, 1000 of 3 inches X 3.25 inches for 4.59 though quickly looking just now the price has gone up by a couple of pounds, still cheap though. I keep the whole skein in it's paper tab and cut off a nice length of thread to use, not too long though because of tangling when stitching.

    rubyrara. Welcome to you too!

FOS. Can't wait to see your completed cushion.

forgot to say got a nice bargain t the carboot on sunday 12 assorted small picture frames (some of them still in packaging) fro £4.50 and a bag full of skiens of anchor silks for £1.50.

tidying the cupboard i found the two boxes of silk wound onto cards i picked up last year and forgot about - i really should stitch more.

working on the little felt crown hanger thingy that came with last months cross stitcher. didnt think much of the needle i thought it was a bit thin but presumed it was so the beading could be done with it as well - i'd only stitched a few rosses when i snapped the needle pushing it through one layer of felt!

saw a piccy in the mag of your jubilee cushion design FOS someone had stitched it onto a shirt.

Back from holiday - haven't caught up yet but have seen the post regarding meeting up Yorkshire way November 2013. Count me in - sounds good.

If there are enough of us what about looking at taking over a Youth Hostel, they rent out whole houses that time of year. That would give us sleeping accomodation, somewhere to cook (if people want to do that) plus the room to sit and stitch/talk.

Will catch up with the last 6/7 pages later and update you on my holiday. At work at the moment and haven't the time now.

Chicky - well done on your win! What comp was it? I think the dinosaurs was a good choice for you, with your boys. Personally I'd have gone for either Birthday Peanut or this one, too cute! http://www.littlestarstitches.com/Apple-Picking.php

if you subcribe to little star stitches newsletter (that they have admitted they've not sent since may cause they've had no news) you get entered into a draw with 1 'winning' every month.

i liked apple picking and autumn leaves and bathtime....but with a win I wanted to go for one that I'd never buy as out of my price range :rotfl:
Have unpicked the few stitches on polar abc - but managed to rip the aida so it'll have to be used for smaller projects.

hello rubyrara - don't forget to post updates.

ohhh it almost sounds like an omen...........

that sounds a good idea ailsb. my only reservation with doing a 'buy in bulk' is if we agree to it then people drop out/ not pay etc. the organiser will end up out of pocket (my friend has just arranged something and in a month has had 4 people now drop out). At least with a travel'ogy type place we all book our own. But YES it would have the drawback of no communal space....... hmmmmmmmmmmm

half a page of princess palace left to go............ (and the bit that i can't do cause i've run out of about 4 threads)
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
