torn between:
birthday - http://www.littlestarstitches.com/Make-a-Wish--Birthday-Sampler.php
and
dinosaur abc - http://www.littlestarstitches.com/Dinosaur-Alphabet-Sampler.php
actic loveables sampler - http://www.littlestarstitches.com/Arctic-Lovables-Name--sampler.php tho think the shades of black/ grey may drive me mad.

Hi everyone :hello:
Back to work todayand what lovely weather we have for it!
I've been following your posts, great work as always :T
I have been really rubbish, no stitching for me over the week. I got distracted by wedding stuff (Bought the bridesmaids dresses! Eek!) and started playing my game again on the computer and before you know it the week was over!
Need to get my behind in gear to finish Dad's fathers day cross stitch before Mum goes away so she can take it to him  Think I'll bring it in to work. It shouldn't (she says!) take too long as the design is quite simple and it's coming together quickly. Must remember to take a pic to show you all, I don't think I ever posted one.
Sorry to hear about the troubles you've been having with the Cross Stitcher kits. I have to say I haven't bought and issue since they changed it.
Speaking of magazines, I never managed to find a copy of Cross Stitch Collection with the butterfly fairy in it. By the time I'd got to the shops they had the July issue out! There's similar design in her new book though so might get that instead, although it's not like I haven't got enough projects lined up already! (Although I think that the butterfly and ladybird faries are unofficially on my list :P )
Flat_eric I'll have a look at your techie question, I know a bit about excel and I heard Open Office is similar. I've been meaning to download it so if you can wait till later, I can download it at home and have a play!
Hugs to all, hope you are keeping dry xx
I was bemoaning the (lovely) weather this morning with a work colleague who was also off last week but over lunch/and since its been raining lots so that made me feel better. :rotfl: Actually I don't mind the rain although its not so great when you are out in it. I did walk from my office into town in the rain without a proper coat or umbrella and it wasn't too bad. Its only a 20 minute walk and it saves £1.50 bus fare - I just need to do it more often. I could save near on £30 a month (assuming i caught the bus everyday) and that saving could mean more money to spend on cross stitch stash
It also wakes me up following a day in the office/sat in front of the computer.
Yes thats cool re open office. I'm in no rush. I have been tweaking with it for weeks and recently completely revamped it because I had about a hundred sheets and that was a bit crazy.
In stitchy news, nothing to report.I have ordered a couple of the new vaerigated dmc threads so looking forward to trying those :T

I like the Dinosaur Alphabet Sampler :j
that ones growing on me more and more. + can always stitch the dinosaurs seperatly on cards and stuff.
however........my next ufo is a polar animal alphabet sampler.:(
ok - i caved and went for the dinosaur sampler. Have decided as polar abc only has about 20 stitches in I will unpick it (re-use the aida for something else) and try and sell the chart/ threads (i don't think i paid a lot as it was an ebay auction....in fact IIRC I only bought it cause i wanted the afgan that came with it that i decided not to stitch it on :rotfl::rotfl:).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. I feel sad because Cross Stitcher used to be (in my opinion) the best cross stitching mag on the market. Now its just a run of the mill cross stitch themed craft mag with shoddy free gifts. I don't mean that to sound harsh but in the spirit of :money: (as a long term subscriber),
I feel upset/miffed that loyalty means nothing. (i.e. no annual subscriber gift/no birthday card/no deal with sew and so offering 10% off etc)
It will be interesting to see what comment, if any Cross Stitcher make to the comments on the facebook page. Since the magazine changed to its more crafty theme, its gifts have been of extremely poor quality and a bit naff. Its a real shame.
PS sorry for the random formatting - don't understand it?
I totally agree - as you know I had been a subscriber since issue 1 - until I gave it up last year - I know I have patterns in old mags that I would love to do - need to sort out what - there was one with a herb alphabet stitch (similar to my floral alphabet). I done it way back in 1995 but lost it in my house fire but I am sure I still have the magazines in the shed to redo it.23rdspiral wrote: »Eric ditto with the irksome way they treat subscribers. pLUS we don't get the Special extra charts Asda put in the bag either!
I really want nxt months Emily Peacock sampler (lots of useful bits), but vow to cancel then... I'm on quarterly DD.. Does Anyone know how that works to cancel please?
Is that the hot air balloon one? I seen advertised in a website - looks really nice - quite tempting.Speaking of magazines, I never managed to find a copy of Cross Stitch Collection with the butterfly fairy in it. Let me know what you are looking for and I will see what I can do.

I use excel all the time I will print of your question and I will have a look at what I can do to try and help you - I use all sort of formulas at work to make my work easier eg I have to count how many hours all my guys work in the last 17 weeks and work out an average for each of them and make sure it don't go over 42 hours. Also I have it set to change colour if they go over and another colour if they make their allotted hours and then another colour if the go under. Sorry girls if I am boring you with work stuff.
NMM - glad to see doggy is on the mend - he looks a picture of health.
Just wanted to say thank you to TMIF and chicky - you are stars *****.
Well I am off to check facebook, work out my secret stitch and maybe do some of my lavender - not done any for a week been rather busy.
Keep well everyone where ever you are in the world

I think I might cancel my subscription after the emily peacock letters next month. Then I might re subscribe with my tesc o vouchers and after that finishes, as a new subscriber with a free gift *possibly* if they can sort out the free gifts and stop supplying shoddy/wonky/wrong sized aida/rubbish thread/extras needed. (i.e no more squashed eyes/no more wonky/bent needles)
Re open office - that would be cool - thank you :j :T umm that makes my head hurt just reading what you use excel for0 -

I'm in! Would be awesome to put faces to posting IDsThe Lake District is a bit of a trek for me but it's so beautiful it would be worth it. I've stayed in Ambleside before (I saw it mentioned a coupe of pages back and forgot to comment
), I'd love to live up there.
Although 2013 is a long way away! Is that to give everyone a chance to save up? I'm saving for the wedding in April, put could manage 2012 too if it's a typo!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
Well, after all the hassle with the wrong size fabric, I'm not sure I like the bookmark :rotfl:I'll make it up, but it might make it's way on to the craft stall at the chuch flower festival next month.
Cross Stitcher not bothered to respond to comments on facebook, or my email.
Hope everyone had a good Monday, no sewing for me today, ironing is calling me.....0 -

well unless some can give an open house somewhere, :rotfl: we're sooo spread out it's tricky to find somewhere central.
i was discussing it with sweetcarer - we kinda need to do out of season somewhere to keep costs minimal. but i am on an expensive (son's 4th birthday) away this november so that kinda rules out the end of the year for me if i'm paying train fare and hotel costs. then we should be away march/ april which would rule out early next year.
so concluded november 2013.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
