    Oh that was you!

Well done. I got the green fabric...planning on using it for TOS once I get the pattern :)
I was tempted by the green too, am glad we weren't bidding against each other :) sorry, please remind me what TOS is.

    Afternoon everyone,

    Long time lurker here :D

Just wanted to warn anyone who has the new Cross Stitcher and is planning on sewing the bookmark that came in the cover kit.

The fabric I had was 14HPI, and the material included is not big enough to fit the whole design on. It's also too big to fit on the bookmark backing, I suspect it should be stitched on either 16 or 18 HPI (haven't yet worked out which).

Disappointing, as I've done a third of it before sewing the edging to the right end and finding out (I thought at first I hadn't found the centre correctly).
thanks for the heads up. I'm really irritated. I've commented on someone's, probably yours, comment on the mags FBpage. They just keep putting out shoddy stuff. It's not free, it's paid for in the mag cost, and at best it's a disappointment, at worst a waste of our time

Tree of stitches, it's a speciality stitch piece by Abi gurden. It was a freebie sal on the yahoo stitch specialists group. Alas, I joined too late to join in but the piece is stunning, if you google image it, I imagine you'll see lots of inspiring pics. She still sells it on her website for £10.50, which is reasonable but just not in my budget at mo :(
but at least I know have my fabric. I really liked the purple too but saw cpl of bidders so went with the green. will be my first piece of hand dyed fabric :)

Hi guys, loving all the updates, no been posting but have been reading. I've managed about 50 stitches on Beautiful Dreamer with my sore/swollen finger, its so annoying as i wanna stitch  The doctor has no idea what is causing it, as all my chilblains have gone but my finger is still the same 6 weeks on. They have run blood tests for Thyroid and Rhumatoid, my first thyroid tests were borderline underactive so they did more tests and asked that i make an appointment asap to discuss treatment. They put me on naproxen which helped at first but not so much now, just want my finger better :rotfl: Onto some better news the doggie is doing great :j she's had all her stitches out and its healing really well, her drinking is coming down so that is slowly getting back to normal too. She has lots of energy and running around like a puppy again :)

Sorry for the off topic, but i know you girls don't mind :) Here is my stitchy update i managed the bit under all the blue, its the wolfy :D

And for the people that cared about my doggie here she is enjoying the sunshine at Longlands Lake today :)

I feel sad because Cross Stitcher used to be (in my opinion) the best cross stitching mag on the market. Now its just a run of the mill cross stitch themed craft mag with shoddy free gifts. I don't mean that to sound harsh but in the spirit of :money: (as a long term subscriber),
I feel upset/miffed that loyalty means nothing. (i.e. no annual subscriber gift/no birthday card/no deal with sew and so offering 10% off etc)

It will be interesting to see what comment, if any Cross Stitcher make to the comments on the facebook page. Since the magazine changed to its more crafty theme, its gifts have been of extremely poor quality and a bit naff. Its a real shame.

PS sorry for the random formatting - don't understand it?

I've googled it and it's lovely, it'll work well with the fabric. I can't find a pic of my stonehenge chart, I guess it's a few years old + made by a small designer.
When I googled StoneHenge Xstitch, my earlier comment came up in the top 5 results!!
When I switched to images, for some bizarre reason Louise's multicoloured black work card was in the top 10 results!! :rotfl:

Nmn I'm really glad your doggy is getting better :)

Eric ditto with the irksome way they treat subscribers. pLUS we don't get the Special extra charts Asda put in the bag either!
I really want nxt months Emily Peacock sampler (lots of useful bits), but vow to cancel then... I'm on quarterly DD.. Does Anyone know how that works to cancel please?

I also emailed them yesterday (can you tell I had wasted a few hours stitching on Friday night and was ), so will see if they respond to that too.

I've finished the bookmark today though, it fits perfectly on 16HPI :p

I agree totally. Cross Stitcher is such a disappointment to me since it's revamp. And as for the 'free' gifts, I don't know by they bother when they are such bad quality.

    Hi all

Spent the evening sorting out my thread stash. all tidied up now, stored in their bobbin boxes and have redone all the 'spare' ones into zippy bags (0-199, 200's, 300's etc) so I can find them easily when a bobbin runs out :)

Also got an update on Circe:

Think it was after 12 days of stitching when I last posted her:

    May2012016.jpg

Here she is after 20 days of stitching:

    Circe20.jpg

Don't think I will have her finished by the 19th June as I hoped but I have been so hectic lately that I have had loads of days where I haven't even picked up my needle :(
