Thanks for the welcome, I will start posting on here as everyone seems so friendly.
I'm in between big projects at the moment, finished one last weekend so thought I would do a few small ones before starting the next one I have planned.
For the bookmark - I've put a warning on their facebook page as well as on here, and also emailed the publisher.
It is a very nice design though, just wondering if to start again on the right size fabric0 -
Welcome to the Cafe JCS. Looking forward to seeing your piccies.
Hope you enjoy your holiday brednall and that the weather picks up for you. We love the Lake District - it has been one of our favourite places for many years but we are having a bit of a change this year and we have had a break in Harrogate and we are off to Chester in a couple of weeks time and then back to Harrogate towards the end of the year with some friends.
Again no stitching done here today as I feel absolutely shattered and just want to put my head down and sleep. Trouble is I've just washed my hair and it is still soaking wet. Nothing much on tv tonight so we will see what happens then .......
Enjoy the weekend everyone (despite the weather)

JCS. The cat design is really nice, I love it!
Thanks - saw the chart on an american website, and didn't realise until it arrived that it has 60 shades in it. It's a present for OH's Mum, she had a black cat and white cat, sadly lost the white cat last year so thought it would be a nice present.0 -
for those who have a homebargains near them i saw these in there today (or something very similar) i think they were £1.99Afternoon everyone,
Long time lurker here
Just wanted to warn anyone who has the new Cross Stitcher and is planning on sewing the bookmark that came in the cover kit.
The fabric I had was 14HPI, and the material included is not big enough to fit the whole design on. It's also too big to fit on the bookmark backing, I suspect it should be stitched on either 16 or 18 HPI (haven't yet worked out which).
Disappointing, as I've done a third of it before sewing the edging to the right end and finding out (I thought at first I hadn't found the centre correctly).
helllo.
thats awful (but seems to happen quie a lot with SOMETHING being wrong)........ hope you complained.
the cats are lovely!Afternoon to all
Off on holiday next week to Bowness-on-Windermere and just wondering if any of you lovely peeps are from that area and can tell me if there are any good craft/stitchy shops around? Not sure my family will want to visit them but if we 'happen' to be nearby, I can always pop in. Planning to take some smaller bits and bobs with me plus 'Row of Love' to do in the evenings after little ones are in bed but I probably won't get any done at all - lol!!
Regards
Emma
ermmm I hate to say this but Bowness is in the middle of nowhere...... seriously.....nowhere!!! (apart from an elusive nightclub called the wheelie-bin by locals)
used to be a lovely pub (i'm going back 7years) caled 'the ship' (we think) which has dancy clubby stuff underneath --- where me and hubby got together.
there is a lack of crafty shops. there's one in Penrith if you stray that far but nothing special.
A lakeland plastics in Windermere next to the train station.
you must go to Ambleside too.i was a student there so if you wanna ask anything.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I love the Lake District and have been several times over the last few years. I would also be interested to find out if there are any stitchy shops because I will be visiting again soon and I can then plan a trip to said town and then oh look (dearest fiance), stitchy shop, I might be a while :rotfl:
Ambleside is worth a visit (Daisy's Cafe) for Breakfast?Lunch and the Apple Pie Bakery/Cafe for a takeaway sandwich lunch. Their Bath Buns are also very yummy! Gaynors is good for walking gear if that's what you need although sadly not very :money:
There are some cool lake district designs on sew and so - shame there are not enough hours in the day to do them all.
Re Cross Stitcher ! what a shame. I think I have 16 count in my pack but I'm not sure ??
I was tempted to start this yesterday but I don't really get the design. I'm guessing what its meant to say is Read Me ? but I have to turn it every which way to see that ? and then I'm still  so I think I will give it a miss.
Its a shame that they didn't have the silhouettes of the letters as was done with the Happy Happy House recently. That would have been cool.0
