Yay! I 'won' the ebay auction on some lovely hand dyed purple / grey fabric I wanted from the excellent Celtic Rose. A friend recently gave me a great atmospheric chart of stonehenge with a zodiac over it, so that's a high contender. But I've 2 weddings to stitch for before I can think of that :0(
This is it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370620073013?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_922. Scroll down to see it.
If you don't know of Celtic rose she does charts, kits, gives away some free charts on her website (inc countryside, fairy and dolphin), sells hand dyed fabrics, and can chart your own photos ect. Heres her fb link https://www.facebook.com/celticroseneedlecraft

    Mrs M - that's a lovely idea, well done :)

Abatha - I have it somewhere, but will take a while to sort out... Does anyone have it to hand?

back from the shops (Well supermarket) after being treated to a cooked breakfast (was surprisingly very tasty), a trek round the clothes aisles (several pounds poorer after buying two pairs of work trousers and a suit jacket to match) then home to my auntys to drink tea (munch naughty cake from said supermarket) and watch daytime tv! beats being at work!

GRRRR at the kindle book I bought this morning (Peter James - Not Dead Yet) (I paid £7.69) - its now priced at £7.19  only 50p difference (and I threw more than this in food away yesterday :() but still bugs me.

Having some catch up time on the computer and need to update my financial spreadsheet (which will no doubt frown at me :rotfl:) then hope to settle on the sofa with the cross stitching :T

OFF TOPIC Have never heard of Peter James but then last night I noticed that the book of the week ie half price at WHSmith is one of his (not the one you mention here). You can return Kindle books within a certain time frame - I'm not sure what the limit is. The 50p would bug me too.
  • Morning everyone I can't use the word "good" as it is dark, cold, windy and pouring with rain again. Although we have escaped the destructive winds which have battered the south west
And we are going to a wedding which is supposed to be in the couple's garden  Hope they have a Plan B
It would be much better to stay home and stitch IMHO:D

Thank you to everyone who commented on my Jubilee cushion and pincushion. I hope to do more on the cushion this weekend although the wedding plus the need to alter the hem on some trousers I need for a party next Friday will take priority on my time.

augustsmummy - I wasn't complaining that you had guessed the correct answer to FE's challenge especially as you did give a spoiler alert :) Sorry if it came across that way
well done on getting a positive response from Bothy Threads

Louise - great price for that lovely frame
That "blackwork" design is stunning. It would make a fabulous coaster

Chicky Loving the way PP is coming along; hp[e you get some time to stitch on it this weekend

FlatEric - the Welsh baby sampler is gorgeous; just needs the right couple :D

catwoman - of course I don't mind you looking at my stitching photos - they are all set to public viewing. The Imagine chart is from a booklet that was free with WOCS I couldn't find mine and Louise helped me out so I can do the same for you ;)

mrs mp - sounds like you have been really successful with your unique design. Spelling out the name in the string of the balloon would be a lovely finishing touch Hope we get to see the final picture before you give it away

23rdspiral - that fabric you won is delightful; you deserve some better luck. It will make a fabulous background for Stonehenge

Have a lovely stitchy weekend one and all

    Hi ladies.

Louise. The ballerina is lovely, the frame sets it off a treat. Also really like the blackwork card.

Not much stitching done here this week what with hubby being here. I like him being home but looking forward to getting back to my own routine next week :)

    Afternoon everyone,

    Long time lurker here :D

Just wanted to warn anyone who has the new Cross Stitcher and is planning on sewing the bookmark that came in the cover kit.

The fabric I had was 14HPI, and the material included is not big enough to fit the whole design on. It's also too big to fit on the bookmark backing, I suspect it should be stitched on either 16 or 18 HPI (haven't yet worked out which).

Disappointing, as I've done a third of it before sewing the edging to the right end and finding out (I thought at first I hadn't found the centre correctly).

    Afternoon to all

Off on holiday next week to Bowness-on-Windermere and just wondering if any of you lovely peeps are from that area and can tell me if there are any good craft/stitchy shops around? Not sure my family will want to visit them but if we 'happen' to be nearby, I can always pop in. Planning to take some smaller bits and bobs with me plus 'Row of Love' to do in the evenings after little ones are in bed but I probably won't get any done at all - lol!!

    Regards
