dorastar - good to hear DS is making progress; good luck with Welsh Chapel - sounds like you have a plan
chicky -hope your arm is recovering
mags cat Tenby looks stunnng and well worth paying to have it framed after all your hard work; how lucky you are to have just a great framer locally; most of the ones I have used over the years have closed down:( I've added some photos to the group Flickr account - the pieces I have finished since joining this group and my current WiP. Sorry but this took it over the 400 so not a nice round numberLoved looking at all the work displayed there.
emma123 - interesting comments about Gorjuss. I haven't stitched any of them myself though have been tempted. However am worried about my SiL - she bought the Ruby kit a while ago and I helped her start it. I did say at the time I wasn't sure it was the best choice for a beginner (it was mid grey aida rather than white for a start). I haven't seen her recently to know how she has been getting on. I do hope it hasn't put her off
sweetcarer - both projects are looking great; hope you are enjoying your weekend
Louise - I wouldn't like to face your framing bill either but surely you don't have to do them all at the same time:eek: But they do deserve to be on display. Have you considered fabric frames for any of them or making them into cushions? It can be cheaper
victoriajj would love to see your framed version of Noah's Ark
flateric - hope you can enjoy your holiday without worrying about work
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the holiday weekend
So would I lol but I gave it to my sister without taking a photo and she lives in Cornwall, I will ask her to take a photo and email it to me and when she does I'll be back on for instructions on how do download it onto here0 -
titanics taken a bit of a back seat, i knitted a little bunny for my niece, now im doing a matching one for my mum so shes got something to cuddle when she needs to

Just trying to have a quick catch up with all your post from the last few days.
23rd - hope your luck changes soon and things start to go well for you. Ooooh just read about your Roller Derby - sounds fun and painful (ouch).
sweetcarer - love your lavender and blue sampler.
Mags_cat - you know I love MP stuff and your Tenby confirms this. Looks great framed - well done.
catwoman - love the beers pic.
Flat Eric - I haven't really gelled with any of the contestants in this series of the Apprentice. Usually there are one or two who I tend to hope will get through but I just couldn't care less this time.
Aislb - £100 for framing  (sorry I must be a cheapskate). Sounds like a perfect weekend for you - pleased little Charlie is making progress. Hope you enjoy your trip to Devon.
maria - hope all goes well with the move.
chicky - hope you manage some stitchy time
Decided I needed to stitch something (anything in fact) as fingers were starting to twitch and were having withdrawal symptoms but I didn't really have time to sort anything properly. However I came across a free gift that came with a mag recently I think (home sweet home in in little round gold frame) started it and I just feel frustrated stitching it. I just want to throw it at the wall. Could be because I have got too much on and by the time I'm getting round to it I'm just soo sooo tired. Anyway thats my moan over for now.
Please can someone help me - visited a friend yesterday and as I entered her dining room (first time I have been to this house) there was a picture on her wall and it was a cross stitch but can I for the life of me remember the name of the chart. I am sure someone here has done it (lady in long red dress carrying candle with the word 'noel' stitched on top). It was absolutely stunning. Apparently it was her father-in-law had stitched it for her and had it framed. It is driving me crazy trying to remember the name of it (putting it down to a senior moment). DH reckons I'm having a few too many of these lately (don't know what he means).
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone

I have started Emily Peacock's HUG cushion today - I think it will take me about a year to complete! The colours are beautiful, I have outlined the "U" and realised it is a long project. It's on my frame but is much too big for it so I think it will be a bit of a faff until I get enough done to feel I am making progress. I am enjoying/impatient in equal measure.0

Hi all,
I discovered this wonderful tread while googling Emily peacock charts. I hope you don't mind me making a brew and pulling up a seat at your little circle.
I've rediscovered my love of cross stitch while off work sick. I like to make my own designs as well as work from patterns and am a huge Emily peacock fan (If only the kits were cheaper!)
I'm heading over to flicker now to try and upload some images and join your group!0 -
Morning all
Welcome to the Cafe Shelleyphant and tootallulah. Looking forward to seeing your piccies.
We are starting to hang wallpaper today so I can't see much stitching getting done. Did a little last night while I listened to the Royal concert thingy.
Seems quite cool here today (had winter coat on when I walked to mums this morning) - so much for flamin June eh. At least its dry for the time being but rain is forecast for later.
Hope you all manage some stitchy time.
Take care everyone,

My copy of Cross Stitch Crazy also arrived on Saturday. The front cover didn't inspire me one bit and I thought, what a disappointment but on browsing the mag, actually its ok I suppose.
Here is my verdict:
Flower Fairy
Not for me.
Jessie J
I really don't see the appeal of the celebrity stitches. I will not be stitching this month celebstitch or any other month.
50 Folk Art Gift Ideas
Some nice designs here.
Elliott and Buttons
Cute but don't like this particular design so doubt I will stitch. I suppose the mouse and flower could be stitched on their own.
Craft xtra pages
Yes these are ok, might stitch?
Simply sassy
not for me.
Tropical fish
A possible stitch?
Birds of beauty
Actually quite like this but doubt with all the other projects I have that it is something I will end up stitching.
Party pals - meerkat designs
I actually think these are quite cute!
Vintage charm
Don't get these?
Space mobile
These are quite cool!
Challenge lucy
Like the octopus.
Next month
Like the look of the Margaret Sherry chart book and the country companions design although amused to see its an "exclusive" because, I think this is a kit that I have?? (but filed somewhere safe!)0 -
Hi all, not been around much recently, having just been catching up reading all the posts. Some lovely work you should all be very proud
I've not done a lot to Winter Angel recently, in fact not a lot of stitching, I did start on her headdress and wings yesterday so hoping to get that finished this week, and will post an update at the end of the week.
I know I'm going to sound really cheeky now, but would anyone mind giving me are the Jessie J chart please? My daughter is mad about her and I would so love to stitch this for her.
I'm also trying to design some Moshi Monsters charts for her, she's crazy about those little blighters too! Have tried putting them on my XS designer, but not come out too clear, so I might try and chart them myself on graph paper. I've never done it before, so not sure what they are going to turn out like. I'm certainly no Van Gough either, but perhaps I could trace them on or something :rotfl:St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0
