Thanks for sharing your comments on CSC - I always find these interesting; I've added my views next to yours

My sub copy of Cross Stitch Crazy came yesterday but as with WOCS, I am a bit disappointed. Here's a list of the projects if you are interested:

Free Best of summer chart book - might be able to use some designs for the keyrings I have been making lately and there seems to be some smaller designs for cards
I really liked these designs and think they will be useful

I like a few of them, they will be good for cards

Almond Blossom Fairy - again, not for me but I know a lot of people love the fairy designs
I have stitched Flower Fairies and like them but haven't got a reason to stitch this one at the moment; I do like the colours though

I'm really not a flower fairies fan tbh.....it's the flowers lol

    Celebrity stitch - Jessie J - I don't think so!!
    Ditto
LOL, I don't know anyone who is a fan tbh

50 folk art gift ideas - smaller designs for cards/coasters etc
A couple of designs I liked but not many

    Nope, nothing there for me

Elliot & Buttons - cute but I just know I will never get round to stitching it
    Ditto

Adorable, but all those greys and awkward backstitch make it a no for me

Julia Rigby motto cards - definitely not my cup of tea
Ditto - I really don't care for this type of cartoon design where the backstitch overlaps the XS

They look fun but the backstitch would be a nightmare:eek:

Crazy for tropical fish - no!!
    Ditto

    Not crazy at all...

Lesley Teare's Peacock designs - again not for me
I like peacocks but have seen far nicer designs than this one

I don't like the colours in the tail?

Meerkat alphabet - definitely not for me
can't see the attraction of these animals at all

My MIL loves these animals, so I might stitch a letter as a birthday card from the children

Maria Diaz's Vintage Charm designs - the only thing really that appealed to me
I agree; the sewing machine would be lovely for a needlecase or scissors fob and all of the others would make great cards, coasters or notebook covers

    Very pretty and delicate looking

GLow-in-the-dark kids mobile - again no
Didn't care for these at all

They are nice but not for me

I did quite like the 2 subsriber extra charts

Really not impressed that 5 full pages are devoted to ads that have nothing to do with cross stitch. I would rather have a magazine that was 4 pages thinner ( I could tolerate one page of something crafty such as the Soap Kitchen)

Next issue - Margaret Sherry chart booklet, Country Companions design, back to school stationery, home sweet hoe picture.

    The fairytale alphabet looks nice
    .

I also saw an advert for Scarlett on page 6 - I think my mum would love her:T

Thank you - it was from World of Cross Stitching but I don't have the issue number as I photocopied the chart when I decided it would be ideal for my niece and the copy doesn't have the issue number on it. It's probably from about a year ago.

Thanks FOS! That's enough info to know which box to look in :)

Oh, and that's a great idea... Think I'll steal it... Of copying a chart I know I'll stitch when I get it, so it's ready when I need it in a separate file I think.

She certainly is. I stitched it ages ago though left out the Noel so that I could keep it on display for winter not just Christmas. One of my SiL keeps dropping very broad hints about stitching it for her but I don't know if I can face all those beads again - the actual xs is very easy as are all MLI patterns. Someone here (may be LancsLady) is currently stitching her Winter Angel which is beautiful

OOOOOh she is beautiful too FOS. Looking forward to seeing your update LancsLady.

Love your Jubilee cushion and pincushion FOS.

I don't know whether or not its me but, not many of us seem overly enamoured with the stitchy mags atm - could it be the time of the year??

Well just finished decorating for today and an absolutely shattered so don't think stitching will be a good idea as for every one stitch that is done I will probably have to unpick two. Whilst decorating today I remembered I have a kit in my stash that will probably go colourwise with the revamped bedroom but will have to wait until I can get it sorted to checked that the pic is something I want. I have only had it for about a year so thats not too long, is it :p. Will post a link when I sort it out.

I love my cat, I really do but I really don't appreciate the 5am alarm call and the 2 minute snooze function (until getting up time that he operates) :(:(:(

Thankfully I'm off today and I'm determined to get some stitching in. I'm trying to resist the temptation to go to the shops and spend money..... I'm so determined to stop wasting unnecessary money once and for all!
  • No stitching from me but it is MOVING DAY! wish me luck got all 3 kids to keep amused aswell, and they are already driving me mad, they have been awake since 6 and are very loud due to the lack of carpets and furniture, everything is echoing !

didnt get any stitching doe as one day went over to see one of my nieces in the hospital she is so beautiful and content it breaks my heart, i dont think i will ever say lifes not fair again as my petty little problems are nothing to what my brother and that beautiful little baby have to cope with. went to see mum yesterday as she is beside herseilf with worry and needed support also shes not shoping properly so felt i needed to take a grocery box round so i know he has stuff in.
i want to stitch something for my brother but really dont know what to do
