This one cost £58, so all in with the cost of the kit just over £100. That's a lot - but it has given me many hours of stitching and will deliver countless more hours of enjoyment looking at it. I have framed things myself in the past, only little pieces - but they never look professional. I have a really good framer and the ones that do a good job with stretching fabric are rare, so I'm hanging onto him!

    I think it's worth every penny :j:j:j

I started on my Ladybird fairy and have made a fair bit of progress, really enjoying her. ATM on my to do list I have Ladybird fairy, cinderella, sleeping beauty and butterfly fairy i'm loving these designs!! I hope Joan Elliott slows down a bit i'm struggling to keep up lol.

A non stitchy question does anyone here work in preschools? if so whats the qualifactions required? I have looked on my local college site and theres so many its confusing.

    Emma x

soo glad i'm not a fairy/ princessy/ person stitchy person. my list would be endless (i love the designs but wouldn't stitch em)

it depends what role you want.
i would say (having done it). for nursery nurse you need at nvq/ btec level 3 (i think a 2 is also available) in childcare and early education (mine was a 2yr full time course).

teaching assistant you need probably the above or i believe there is a TA course.

teacher - degree + pgce or a teaching degree that includes qts.

    hope that helps.

    Magscat - looks stunning.

sweetcarer - fab progress enjoy your days off.

Day 1 of hols and I have only managed about 20 stitches (to a diet magnet I'm stitching). Mr T turned up 1 hour and 20 mins late !! which kind of threw my plans out a bit but they had all my shopping (apart from some substituted weight watchers meals) and my tiger bread wasn't as fresh as I would have liked. Felt sorry for the driver. I can't really complain and get the delivery free because I signed up for their delivery saver thing.

I love the Tenby Harbour above. Its amazing. I love Michael Powell's work although I have never done any of his designs. Its my birthday soon so might have to browse on sew and so and see if any take my fancy :j

ahh well in that case you should have handed the meal and bread back and re-ordered just those 2 items lol.

    grrrrrrrr.
Don't know about T but A are fab if they get something wrong.
They had charged me for the 6 (yes we eat a lot) of cheese which was on offer (2 for £5 or something). Yet only delivered 3. They not only refunded the 3 but STILL left the money off on too. so get 3 blocks of cheese for about £1. :D

They are usually good at refunding though - I phoned up cos they charged me full price for something and they sorted it straight away. Another time there was a few items missing and they refunded the value (although they did offer to deliver it before refunding) and sent me a £10 voucher to apologise.

Morning all from a very rainy Derbyshire.

Managed a few stitches on my Home Sweet Home sampler last night but too tired to concentrate so I put it down.

My sub copy of Cross Stitch Crazy came yesterday but as with WOCS, I am a bit disappointed. Here's a list of the projects if you are interested:

Free Best of summer chart book - might be able to use some designs for the keyrings I have been making lately and there seems to be some smaller designs for cards

Almond Blossom Fairy - again, not for me but I know a lot of people love the fairy designs

    Celebrity stitch - Jessie J - I don't think so!!

50 folk art gift ideas - smaller designs for cards/coasters etc

Elliot & Buttons - cute but I just know I will never get round to stitching it

Julia Rigby motto cards - definitely not my cup of tea

Crazy for tropical fish - no!!

Lesley Teare's Peacock designs - again not for me

Meerkat alphabet - definitely not for me

Maria Diaz's Vintage Charm designs - the only thing really that appealed to me

GLow-in-the-dark kids mobile - again no

Next issue - Margaret Sherry chart booklet, Country Companions design, back to school stationery, home sweet hoe picture.

Sorry if this doesn't help anyone but I think I will either sell this mag on or shred it for charts. So many charts to list on fleabay - must stop buying them really.

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone
