Still no stitching, but will be soon, once lil sis decides which birth sampler she wants me to stitch.
Belated Happy Birthday wishes for yesterday Louise, look forward to seeing what stitchy stuff you get.
Sorry to hear about your granda nmm, hugs to you and your family. xx
Chicky - I am on my second coil, admittedly the first was quite painful going in and the second wasn't much better (it was worse getting the first out! TMI?!). I am so glad I have it though, as my life is sooo much better than without it. I too thought that as in my 50s now, I wouldn't need a second one, but was cheerfully informed if I started early (aged 9!), I would probably finish late  Life's just not fair sometimes!!!:(
Have a good weekend everyone xx

  really Keiss? You've been told that as u started early, you'll probably finish late? Can I ask by whom? I also stared age 9, still in junior school. I'm 31 now and childless. Mum said itd mean id end early as u only have so many. But then mum had the change a bit early so i wong get my hopes up. I'm feeling the clock ticking louder and louder. I want to know if I even can. OH doesn't want to try till we r sorted! Ha! Think I've won him over though and will explore options for coming off Depo injection b4 too long. Had now today - he doesn't want my mood all over the place as we're planning our wedding for autumn. I'm half  and half:T at that suggestion!

Happy Happy Happy that's it the weekend.:j
Even happier that a snoopy cross stitch kit that I have been after for ages popped up on ebay as a buy it now this week. had to buy it !
It arrived yesterday so looking forward to starting it :T
I need to catch up with all your posts (where have the weekday evenings gone??)
unrelated to cross stitch1 (sorry) but are any of you planning on going to see the olympic torch as it makes its travels round the uk? I see its on its way to the UK tonight... and are any of you going to see any of the Olympics ???
unrelated to cross stitch (2) (sorry again) and copied from the sw thread I visit - hope you don't mind me asking?
My fridge is far too cold - when I pull out the salad drawer - water leaksand for dinner tonight, I decided to have sausages (they were half frozen!!)
Its been happening for a few weeks now and I'm not really sure what the problem is?
I've googled it tonight and there seems to be mixed opinion about what the problem might be and I am still none the wiser. Does anyone have any ideas? Its a Hotpoint RLA34 that I have. In general terms the fridge is keeping things cold (too cold in fact) and I think the frozen sausages were my fault because I turned the temperature dial up to colder.... Ive put it back to what I think is the lowest setting now?0 -
ohh keiss that made me go all cringy tingly just thinking about it.
well dr agreed it could be the implant........although I could tell from her questioms she was more hoping to saddle it down to depression/ stress/ anxiety and 2 kids!!
she wasn't trained to remove the implant (only 1 dr at my surgery is) ... seriously give me a knife and i'll do it myself!! so am stuck with it till a week on tuesday.
she did however agree with me that because my OC was never 100% confirmed that i can go back on microgynan (which i know has no psycological effects on me) and will review me regularly to make sure it doesn't make me itch etc. + if it doesn't resolve my issues then see if other tablets will.
sorry but thought I'd fill you in (i've left some details of my trip out lol).
Right am off to give tinywiggle his dummy AGAIN!!! then onto my stitching.
I ran out of one colour on Wednesday. Ordered Wednesday night and it was with me today.
AMAZING service so congratulations to madaboutcrafting a good price (£1.55 for 2 skeins of DMC), Free 1st class delivery.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
FE - I'm reallly excited about seing the Torch (people can't understand why) but it's gonna be a once in a lifetime for me (and the boys probably). It's not here until the 25th (26th?) June but practically passing my front door so it's an opportunity not to be missed (IMO).
I'm not even the slightest bit interested in the Olympics :rotfl:
My fridge (it's a fridge freezer) is cr*p!! If I put salad in the salad trays they are frozen and have to be binned by the following morning.
Food does not defrost at all in it!!!
But if we turn it down stuff doesn't seem to be cold enough.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Just had to look up if/when the torch is coming nearby. Guessed it probably would be, as Stratford is only a few tube stops away. It's passing the end of our road early(7:30-8am!) on a Sunday morning. If I'm up, I may go and see, but I'm really not fussed on the Olympic stuff. It's already driving me nuts & I won't be able to go into London for at least 3 weeks while it's going on. Tube/roads will be crazy busy!
On stitching related news, I have one more line of wording to go, plus a line of decorative 'stuff'. Maybe 2 days work? Anniversary is next Friday! Eeek!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

It passes through here in the middle of June - probably won't bother going to see it tbh, it's a lot of faff for a bit of fire :rotfl:
I am interested in the Olympics though and will watch a lot of it (my children will dislike me - no cartoons haha) but it's too far / too flipping expensive to go and see them.23rdspiral wrote: »  really Keiss? From a vague recollection of Human Biology lessons at school, that is my understanding of egg production as well. The vast majority of the eggs within the ovaries steadily die, until they are depleted at menopause. At birth, there are approximately 1 million eggs; and by the time of puberty, only about 300,000 remain. Of these, 300 to 400 will be ovulated during a woman's reproductive lifetime. The eggs continue to degenerate during pregnancy, with the use of birth control pills, and in the presence or absence of regular menstrual cycles.
So if you start early, you are likely to finish early as well. (Getting it over and done with I guess)

Ah, we have the Olympic party in Plymouth tomorrow evening, so I think I will go to that.. apparently, they are having one every evening; I am not fussed about the olympics, but I will go to the freebie party
I have that fridge FE, and it's always cold - I have it on setting 1... anything higher and things freeze0 -
hugs nmm :grouphug: thinking of you xxx
and belated birthday wishes to Louise. Hope you had a lovely day :bdaycake:0 -
catwoman - that dragon kit is stunning but quite a challenge on 18 count black aida - best stitched in the summer IMHO but then my eyes aren't as good as they used to be
subtle minx - well done on finishing your pincushion; it is very unlikely anyone other than you will notice the mistakes so don't tell
23rdspiral - thanks for the reply about the bird clock; glad that your OH is ok. I expect you are still recovering from the shock
aneres - I;ve never tried this because I actually prefer soft fabric but I wonder if spray on starch would help (sprayed on the back obvs) It would wash out when you finished.
chicky - the stieg larsson books are great. I bought the set of 3 fromMr T for less than £5 I have read the first 2 but they were loans and I kept thinking that I must buy the 3rd one so I was very pleased to get all 3 for the price of 1. My other excuse was that it took my total spend to just over £50 so I got the petrol voucher
Louise - ouch! Good thing you did hold back on stash spends. And belated happy birthday - didn't see any of the posts on the day; hope it was a good one and of course birthday money should be spent on whatever you want i.e. stitchy stash Hope all goes well for your mum
Ailsb - I know what you mean about framing - it is really expensive when done professionally. I've found some nice frames in charity shops and I try to keep a note of the sizes I need so that if I see any in CS of £shops or the supermarkets I know whether or not they are suitable. Kidney stones are dreadful - very painful but pleased that your DH should start to feel better.
augustsmummy how sweet that you are being asked to stitch by your children. Sorry to hear about the allergies - it's tough for anyone but even more so for children. Understand what you are saying about your DD wanting the same uniform as everyone else but I would still express your concerns to the LEA or to the governors. You won't be able to change this decision but it may help to prevent any others of a similar ilk.
emma - how disappointing that just as you get your stitchy bug back you get an injury - hope it heals quickly
FE - yes looking forward to seeing the torch and have been involved with plans at work to allow everyone the opportunity to get out when it passes near our office. I haven't got any tickets to go and have had the time blocked out in my diary for months saying Do Not Plan Any London Meetings Can't offer any help about the fridge I'm afraid0
