So sorry for your loss nmm.

Fos - gravy browsing sounds messy! I tend to use a bump brush to stipple on cinnamon ect onto folk art bits, but haven't used it on stitching. And it does smell good.

aislb, ouch! Hope hubby is ok now?

Louise, AM - I don't have kids but this has been such an expensive month here too! AM, that seems very cheeky of the school to guilt you into so much.

If u listened to the radio this morning, the traffic report, my OH was in the middle of the collision that brought Northampton's Riverside / A45 to a halt. Very luckily he is fine, and because he was driving cautiously, so was the biker My OH was shunted into. I'm so relieved. Everyone was ok, but the chap who started the domino- shunt will need a new car. He's home now, fine, talking to insurers, and I'm still a nervous wreck!

23rd - Glad your DH is ok!

I am afraid is just the tip of the ice burg with this school! We have a new head teacher who seems to forget it is in quite a poor area, and finds it acceptable to ask for a lot of money! On top of these sort of letters she has decided to change the uniform colours and logo, so as of September all DDs uniform will be useless even if it still fits , worst of it being I was organised and sorted some uniforms for the next few years as I found bargains - all wasted money now. That and I had saved uniforms for DS - all will be binned as they were logod. Sorry, lol, rant over.

Right best crack on with DDs dress, still looks a bit Interesting...
    lol

    Happy birthday Louise!

On a slightly unrelated note, it makes me laugh how people categorise stitching speed on here - the fastest being Louise speed!

    Glad hubby is ok 23rd
AM my kids school doesn't ask us for money, because it doesn't do anything, no summer fair for 2 years, there idea of celebrating the jubilee is pizza or fish fingers for lunch! And nothing for the Olympics! Drives me mad, but every offer of help to organise stuff is ignored!

    Happy Birthday Louise.

ouch 23rd and AM glad hubbies are ok.

You're really going thro the mill aren't you AM. hope DS does outgrow his allergies. I know a lot of schools won't allow a sniff of nuts within 100m of their children but not so sure on the eggs. have they given him an epi-pen and most of all have you made sure the school have someone who can administer it if required.

That does seem to be a lot of money/ expectations to throw at you in a few months. I know when my high school chanegd the uniform they started it from the next intake. Basically you only HAD to start the new uniform if you were having to buy it anyway. It may be worth asking the LEA if they can force the change and explain the situation.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hello
Chicky - (whispers - my DH wasn't in the crash just 23rds was, but thank you for caring :))
Yeah I feel to be being thoroughly dragged through the mill by my hair at the moment, but things can only get better.... I hope.
DS is only 2, so hope to have all issues sorted with school before he starts nursery in January. Iirc they fill in health forms in the November before they start, so will get it all sorted then.
He doesn't have an epipen as yet. He reacts with hives (big blotchy patches) to egg, so we just have piriton to give if he eats it.
As for the nuts he was fine with them when he had them at grandmas, then he had just one of mine and his bottom lip started to balloon  and I was very quick with the piriton to avoid the reaction getting worse. We only had his test yesturday with the nurse and are waiting for consultant to get in touch with the care plan. Hoping we do get an epipen just incase the reaction next time is worse!

As for school I wouldn't mind it being a few times a year, but it is a few times a term. I think it bothers me more that the expectations have gone up when money is at its tightest for us (and most of the families in our school are really struggling).

I just don't understand the rationale of changing the uniform, but it is happening. Not sure about contacting LEA, its a good idea, but DD will not be happy going to school in a different colour to her class mates (she is a sensitive soul bless her), some of whom have started to change uniforms already!

Sorry for the off topic non stitchy posts.
    :o
Hope others are having a stitchy day

23rd - glad your hubby is ok, it's really frightening when something happens like that. It really does make you realise just how vunerable life is and how much people mean to you. Away enough of the deep thoughts from me.

    Happy Birthday Louise.:bdaycake:

AM - I love the Eat cake for breakfast design, if it were a male design it would be so appropriate for my son. That's his moto for any celebration, whether it's birthday, Christmas, Easter, any excuse really.
