TMIF - Lady bird faery is stunning, I can't wait till I am skilled enough to try some of Joan Elliots designs. They are amazing!

Actually, although they look lovely, and swirly and complicated, they're not difficult.

If you look, they are big swishes of colour, with the occassional random stitch of another colour.

I've never done beading, so that will be new, but I am leaving that until the end anyway :)

If you were Louise, you could do it in a week - I intend to take my time and enjoy it :)

    All Cross Stitch Gold

    Cinderella - Issue 90

Sleeping Beauty - Issue 93 (On sale now)

Rapunzel - Issue 94 (ON sale 19th June)

Just checked her blog and the lady bird fairy was in issue 206 of Cross Stitch Collection

Just realised that I signed up for a trial offer of CS Gold (3 for £5) and my first issue is 94 so I will have Rapunzel :D. I'm not entirely sure I like the featured fabric though - what do the rest of you Rapunzel fans think?

Ahhh the Ladybird Fairy. She's beautiful. I've just started her....

Just be aware that if you want nice dyed fabric, all the beads and special thread, she works out quite expensive...! Gulp!

She is absolutely stunning and will be worth every penny and every minute of your time. What fabric are you using?

    I think it's wisteria, 28ct Lugana Opalescent from http://polstitchesdesigns.co.uk/Fabrics.html

I am enjoying it so far... infact I don't want to do it too quickly. I don't have much wall space, and she deserves to be on display all the time rather than rotated :)

FOS. Nice progress on the DJ cushion.

    beg. Cute cards.

Skoobie. Love the monsters, they look really good.

TMIF. Love the Ladybird Fairy, look forward to following your progress on her.
I adore Too pooped! It looks great framed and on the wall.

    AM. Newton coming along nicely.

aneres. Nice progress on the flower.

Chicky. Nice progress on Princess palace.

As predicted hubby fell asleep while F1 was on yesterday so I got quite a bit of stitching done. Admittedly though I seemed to spend more time looking at the chart deciding which bit to stitch next than I did actually stitching! :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

And I'm all caught-up now. I've also been ripping charts out of magazines for the last week. I did have all my magazines in boxes and an Excel list with which chart was in which magazine. I've completed the ripping now, took all my left-over magazines to the tip yesterday and now I have all my charts in poly pockets in lever arch folders. I still have 5 of those though

People who categorise their charts, what categories do you use?

    I use (so far!):
    • Christmas/winter pictures
    • Christmas projects (such as advent calendars, stockings)
    • Christmas cards
    • Other cards
    • Weddings/new baby samplers (including charts to stitch for children)
    • Flower/garden pictures
    • Flower/garden projects
    • Real animals
    • Cartoon animals
    • Miscellanious pictures & projects (with a sub-category of geisha girls)
    Have I over-categorised? :o

I haven't done this type of chart organising (yet she says hopefully) but I don't think you can over categorise unless you got to the stage where every chart was in a unique category. I would be tempted to have categories for specific designers as well

    Woo hoo it's finished,

    photo-4-3.jpg

Still need to mount it though. I'm thinking of interfacing it then mounting onto some felt and then the felt onto stiff card, will play around with some colours :)

Back to the blackwork cats this evening!

Wanted to stitch something smallish for me next but don't have all of the threads for any design :( That will have to wait until next month, no more stitchy purchases for this month lol

Congratulations to everyone else on your progress :T

nykied - I haven't organised my magazine charts yet but your categories look good to me. At the moment I've just got Christmas designs and then everything else!

TMIF and Emma - Another fan of the ladybird fairy here, although I'm resisting putting her onto my to stitch list until I've done the unicorn!

This looks great and I think your finishing ideas will be perfect for a little boy. Looking forward to seeing the final result
  • Seeing as we're talking about the beautiful lady, I thought I'd post a pic of my progress. I've been doing an hour or so a day for about 10 days...

    Here she is:
    SAM_0005.jpg

I have also, finally managed to frame Too Pooped. I did manage to cut my finger quite badly when doing so - but I didn't bleed on the fabric, so that's good :)
    SAM_0004.jpg

The stitched version of Ladybird fairy is even better than I thought from the magazine photo - the colours really zing on that fabric

What a brilliant job of framing you have done. Hope the finger is healing and not getting in the way of your stitching :D
