Fos It really is lovely. I could do with something like it as I'm forever losing my scissors down the side of the settee.

Soulie hope the magazine sorting is going well I'm sure it will be worthwhile when finished Does it count as one of your 15 tasks for the year?

Sadly not no, it should be allowed though as there's soooooooo much to sort through!!

MRSM - You can tell it's going to be a ship so that's good progress :D

catwoman - I woudl be excited as well, and was tempted to order some but I am being good this month with stash or else I will have to 'fess up to F_E :rotfl:

    shelly - C'mon...home stretch now! *\o/* <--Getting the pom poms out :D

Louise - that RM sampler is fabulous I love the way the lettering is in the RM style. Was it a chart or a kit or from a magazine? I'm sure it would be worth unpicking and using for something else though probably not suitable for someone in the family who knows the history

It was a chart I bought online and I just changed the colours

    ;)

I think your couch companion is a great idea:T I have seen similar online but it's so much nicer to have one you have made yourself :)

ohhhh just been nosying - I love polestitches colour of the month fabric...... shame the May one isn't in aida!!

Oh no, now you've made me look at their site again to see what the May fabric is! Do want the Joan Elliot cards! they have made it onto my list, and the home sweet home design is re-affirmed as well!

I will have to make a dash to WHSmith and hope they have some issues of XC Gold left  If I can't get the right one I may have to subscribe :rotfl:

I was wondering about the subscription offers, 5 for £5 etc. If I subscribe when do I cancel, after they take the payment, or after I get the 5th issue?

The only type of dyeing I have done is tea dyeing of calico and cotton for applique or stitchery projects - this is an example

It is supposed to look "blotchy" as my DH described it when I showed it to him. It is literally dyed with tea (you can also use coffee) I don't have enough confidence to try with proper dyes

I love the embroidery on this FOS, it's just beautiful :) Did you stitch it freehand?

Your fabric look great catwoman, what size grab bag was it?

Great progress everyone as always, loving all the pictures. You give me something to keep me busy at work, the next best thing to stitching :p

I've done a little more since then - some colour other than blue, white or black! (The horse's legs, which are shades of brown, hooray!)

It's a pattern ;) and the embroidery is traced onto the fabric then stitched - it's only backstitch and satin stitch so very simple

its very similar to a piece my DD did for her exam she felted a panel and embellished it with felted flowers embrodery buttons and little bees.
