And I'm all caught-up now. I've also been ripping charts out of magazines for the last week. I did have all my magazines in boxes and an Excel list with which chart was in which magazine. I've completed the ripping now, took all my left-over magazines to the tip yesterday and now I have all my charts in poly pockets in lever arch folders. I still have 5 of those though
People who categorise their charts, what categories do you use?
I use (so far!):- Christmas/winter pictures
- Christmas projects (such as advent calendars, stockings)
- Christmas cards
- Other cards
- Weddings/new baby samplers (including charts to stitch for children)
- Flower/garden pictures
- Flower/garden projects
- Real animals
- Cartoon animals
- Miscellanious pictures & projects (with a sub-category of geisha girls)

Soulie hope the magazine sorting is going well I'm sure it will be worthwhile when finished Does it count as one of your 15 tasks for the year?
Flat eric I would use one treasury tag per magazine so that you don't risk charts tearing - you do want to stitch the ones you are keeping so you don't want them spoiled
23rdspiral love Crafty Fox and especially your take on what he means to you
And thank you (I think) for adding to myA must stitch list with that link to the Crystal Fairy. Have downloaded, saved and printed it alreadyThough I couldn't face doing all that background in navy blue - I would stitch it on dark fabric instead Something similar to Louise's Circe fabric would look good I think
augustsmummy - love that Mackintosh sampler - what a bargain. It will make a beautiful wedding sampler.
I have also seen your stitching technique referred to as "railroading". I've used this technique where I think it makes a difference such as when stitching with silks and when I am stitching on an "heirloom" piece. It takes too long for general stitching for me
sublte_minx welcome to the cafe I'm a comparative newbie and they are a great bunch I can help with the fairytale alphabet after Maria helped me I agree that crafting is good for reducing stress levels (though not if you stitch to deadlines )
Louise - Rapunzel is fabulous. I have already stitched a Sleeping Beauty and have a Cinderella in my stash but this one is very tempting......... Circe is looking wonderful
Maria - love autumn reflections - really good progress
Keiss - well done on being ahead of the game for FD:D
Choosing names in advance does seem to be the usual thing now - though I do know a couple of people who have changed their mind after the birth. We have a large extended family and there has been some staking of claims to particular names as well as a falling out over someone "stealing" the name they had chosen
I think French designs are lovely and am looking for ward to your pic
Emma - keep going with Gorjuss - it will be worth it. Perhaps post a photo to show how much you have done? Joan Elliott's blog gives details of the magazines where the designs appeared
blue eyed girl - both cards are lovely Are they for someone special or just to have on hand?0 -
Woo hoo it's finished,
Still need to mount it though. I'm thinking of interfacing it then mounting onto some felt and then the felt onto stiff card, will play around with some colours
Back to the blackwork cats this evening!
Wanted to stitch something smallish for me next but don't have all of the threads for any designThat will have to wait until next month, no more stitchy purchases for this month lol
Congratulations to everyone else on your progress :T
nykied - I haven't organised my magazine charts yet but your categories look good to me. At the moment I've just got Christmas designs and then everything else!
TMIF and Emma - Another fan of the ladybird fairy here, although I'm resisting putting her onto my to stitch list until I've done the unicorn!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
Seeing as we're talking about the beautiful lady, I thought I'd post a pic of my progress. I've been doing an hour or so a day for about 10 days...
Here she is:
I have also, finally managed to frame Too Pooped. I did manage to cut my finger quite badly when doing so - but I didn't bleed on the fabric, so that's good0 -
23rd Crafty Fox is fab, hes so cute
Maria shes looking great
Keiss21 hope you had a good hol. I dont think I would like to know the sex of my children. I would like people to try and guess. I also think that it could be bad luck. I agree with Louise and I would keep the name a secret - as you do have 9 months to change your mind :rotfl:
FOS nice cushion
sk00bie1 Monsters look great. Have you got your fabric for the unicorn yet? If so did you get the smaller fabric or the one with the bigger boarder.
nykied I dont think you have over-categorised at all, you might need to add more, the more charts that you get. :rotfl:
Tellmeitsfriday Too pooped looks fab and so does Ladybird fairy. Whats she on the fabric looks stunning.
Well I tried "tramlining" last night during BGT final and it was hard and took sooo long to do one section, might wait and use it on other pieces. The more I do it though I might get quicker at it. :rotfl:
Yesterday I took the plunge and ordered a grab bag from polstitches and it has already been sent out, that was very quick  I am going to wait to see what comes and how nice it is before I order unicorn and cinders fabric from there. I know that it is a little bit pricey.Bit more stitching tonight inbetween telly and a hot bath :rotfl:

I got the smaller 28ct jobelan, and a smaller piece of 28ct jobelan 'summer breeze' for 'Imagine'. I nearly ordered a grab bag too, but it would have been too much! The fabric is lovely and soft and the colours are bright, will be a bit of a change from stitching on plain fabric!
Let us know what you get in your grab bag, which one did you go for?Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

Love the finished monsters piece Skoobie - looks great.
The cushion is coming along well FOS bet it will look beautiful when its done.
23rd - I haven't got the same fox, mine is a Woodland folk one - this one , but you reminded me I need to crack on and stitch it. Yours is lovely
.
Well no stitching yet today as DD needs a costume for school in a few weeks so I have done a bit of sewing on that. I am no dress maker that is now apparent. Oh well, at least I tried!
Have a stitcy evening all

Will do, I went for a mixed grab bag. I dont know If I will be able to tell what count it is on when it comes :rotfl:or if its linen or not. They have already sold out again of grab bags. I have heard great reviews from other people about their fabric.
Has anyone tried to dye their own fabric? any success
