  • Skoobie - the monster sign looks great and will be truely original

blue eyed girl - love the tulips and the frame really sets them off = no one would guess the cost. I'm with you in the "floral camp" :D

I'm the wrong person to advise on storing magazines as i have hundreds and keep them all complete. I like to use A4 plastic storage boxes though I can't say this is the best way to save space. You could remove the charts and articles you like and put each one into a plastic sleeve with holes and then file them in lever arch type binders. I do this will the various free and single charts I have accumulated. I didn't do this but wish I had - sorting the charts by subject and/or designer and then separating them using dividers would make it easier to find a specific chart. That's a job for when I have some spare time (think I may have a window around Jan 2016!)

^^That's what I do - it took me a weekend to sort out about 70 magazines, I now have 6 A4 folders, which still take up space but at least I can find stuff now :rotfl:

Ok now its cross stitch time.

Feeling a wee bit down but still got an update for you. Just the one I do from work to show off. Not being able to sort through stuff - keep meaning to but meh! (good word)

Hope everyone is ok where ever they are in the world

    sweetcarer ;)

  • Well a week after I finished it here is the photo of my latest finished UFO Millennium Sampler - 12 years in the making - can anyone top that?

I also framed my Keep Calm and Cross Stitch. The frame is an oak Conran frame which I got in the M&S sale - not quite as big a bargain as b-e-g's £3 frame but still a lot less than the original price. It's unusual in that the glass is set back in the frame though you can't really see that in the photo.

This week I have been working on Imagine (thanks Louise:T). It's the same design that Skoobie is about to start. I've used a piece of sparkly hand dyed evenweave from Polstitches that I had in my stash (it was part of a grab bag from there)

Not sure how much stitching I will get done this weekend as have visiters tomorrow so major house cleaning and tidying required today :( I don't have the beads to finally finish it off anyway
  • Ailsb - good deal on the Cross Stitch Card Shop. If there are any designs you really want from this month's WOCS I'm sure one of us will have a spare copy

tellmeitsfriday - those blackwork fairies are stunning; I've also seen some of the stitched models at shows and they look wonderful - the photos don't do them justice

chickywiggle -thanks for the heads up about the free listings weekend. Hope you get lots more done on PP

Flat Eric - love your new challenge. Like MrsMP and Louise I find it is more realistic to cut back than eliminate spending altogether. And I find this is more successful for me - if I set a target of no spend and break it then the challenge is over whereas it is much easier to keep going where the goal is spending less

Tricksie - you must have made some good progress in a couple of hours and I find it's no good carrying on stitching when tired as that's when I make mistakes and have to unpick:eek:

catwoman - yes that is definitely a dragon:)

sweetcarer - sorry to hear you are not feeling great; your flower sampler is lovely

Now back to the housework :(

fos they are fab - love the millenium sampler.... 12 years isn't bad lol.

Hmmm to ebay tonight or tomorrow??
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Love the blackwork fairies.

    Good progress with dragon catwoman.

Thanks for the suggestions for storage fos and Louise. Thought I would try to get a system in place before the magazine pile gets too high. :D

    Love the snowdrops sweetcarer.

Well done on completing Millenium Sampler fos - 12 years not that bad. Looks great btw as well as Keep Calm and Imagine. I haven't tried sparkly fabric yet ......

Just started the AOY kit that came with WOXS. Just done the plum colour and just had enough thread - will have to be careful with the others. It seems quite a fiddly little bit of fabric too.

    Enjoy your stitchy Sunday everyone.

well the weather is, as predicted, rather rainy and windy so aside from dashing up the shop to get a paper and taking delivery of my food shop later, I don't expect I shall be venturing out.....

I did manage a little bit of the bookmark I'm stitching last night but not much. (mainly while waiting for BGT - bored of that now though?!) I have also noticed that despite marking the material out in blocks of ten (and the last block 4), I have overstitched by one square. so the last block has 5 stitches instead of 4.

I'm tempted rather than trying to unpick to just continue stitching this extra row as there seems little point in faffing with the unpicking and making a mess and getting frustrated! Also I suspect as it is a bright blue I am stitching with, you will see that there has been a stitch there? Will hope to retire to the sofa with that later.

Hope everyone has a lovely stitchy sunday planned :j
