Afternoon ladies
Just a quick update before I start with some housework.
Thinking of you AM - hope all goes well for you today.
Good progress sk00bie - looking forward to seeing your updates.
Oh nearly forgot - tulip update
Have done this for a friend and had intended to give it to her for her birthday later in the year but plans have changed as she is having her kitchen decorated next week and she said that she would like a new picture so I think I might give it to her now. Decision decisions. Oh I got the frame from Mr. A's and it had the white mount and it only cost £3 - bargain.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.

P.S Thinking about how to store xstitch mags so that they take up the least amont of space. Do I remove any articles/charts that I may wish to use in future and throw the remainder? I also wondered about scanning any possible charts into computer but I think I would rather have a physical copy to look at. I would appreciate any suggestions.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -
Those tulips lo look great, the red mount really makes them pop out, your friend is going to love it (and I think it would be a nice gift for a new kitchen)
Adsa does have some bargain frames atm, I stocked up on a few reduced ones myselfCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Well it didn't save my post last night!!! I posted to say goodluck to AM and that it was Stardust and Moonbeam that I really liked but didn't dislike any on them. Also said that if Tellmeitsfriday wanted to PM me to feel free.
SkOObie - your monster sign will look great and good progress already.
B-E-G - your tulips are lovely you have one very lucky friend. The frame sets the design of a treat.
Decided to call WOXS today as I hadn't received my magazine only to be told the bank details they have ffor me are incorrect. To cut a very long story short they re-took the details and the next magazine I will receive will be next month so no WOXS for me this month. As I was about to go off the phone the man offered me other magazines 3 for £1, well it would have been rude to say no so I have ended up subscribing to Cross Stitch Cardshop for 3 months as well.

Yes the're the ones. As I say my favourite are Moonbeam and Stardust but I think that's probably because they were the first ones that I saw many years ago at the NEC. I quite enjoyed doing the blackwork earlier in the year when I stitched the Embroiders Prayer.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Welcome to the caf! cosmopolitan
Sunny….sunny…..sunnny…… nope remind me what that is louise. It’s poured/ hailstoned here for the last week!!!
Skoobie – those Monster letters look brill, can’t wait to see it finished.
BEG those Tulips are lovely and that red mounting makes it look really professional. I think they’d look great in the kitchen.
Ohh and it’s ANOTHER free listing weekend on ebay this weekend if anyone wants to try and shift any old stash they have outgrown (tho it seems they have one every other weekend – perhaps they could just reduce the fees permanently instead).
Have started the next page of princess palace so will post an update when I am furhter through it - hoping to get a load done tonight.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Have been doing some cross stitch this week for the first time in what seems like ages! :j I have started the free kit (All our yesterdays) that came with WOXS and also came across my Snoopy Bookmark so started stitching that again.:D
I must also sort myself out because I have an anniversary card to stitch and was planning on stitching a father's day card although I suspect that might end up being a birthday card instead.
I haven't caught up with all posts yet so hugs all and Happy Friday evening! Do you all have a lovely weekend planned? We have a weather warning for Sunday so I don't intend to venture out ! other than to get the paper so perhaps I could make it a day of stitching and listening to my audio books :j
Question.....
I shall be browsing the forum shortly to find a suitable challenge to stop me spending all my money BUT whilst I think I can [STRIKE]quite happily[/STRIKE] give up buying cross stitch stash, I don't feel I can give up my addiction to the kindle daily deal. I don't buy it every day but do check what the daily deal is and if its a book I am interested in then I will buy it. I do have hundreds of tree books to read and lots and lots of kindle books so its not as if I need any more books but when a book is 99p then unfortunately the temptation to buy is just well all too tempting. Views please.... Oh and if anyone would like to join in my no spend challenge then you are more than welcome! I suspect I may start up my own thread - should I allow any type of spending or ban any unnecessary spending altogether? I know this isn't cross stitch related but you are such a lovely lot and I am sure you won't mind. Also how long should I set the challenge for ??? I seriously need to rein in my spending!0 -
i dont have a kindle flat eric but i do have a huge stack of tree books and cant resist them at carboots, when they are 20-50p it seems rude to leave them there. i do try and give 'one reads' back to charity shops or pass on.
i try to cut back on spending and have joined varous on spend challenges. but its more low spend than no spend i actually achieve.
wool is my other downfall, i have more than i could hope to knit in a lifetime but i still buy moreSPC~12 ot 124
