  • Big hello to all the newbies :):)
Some good work coming along on here. :j
Hope everyone had a good easter, eating all he chocolate :)

I have added to my stash aswell. Last week I ordered celestial Dragon kit and Medieval Enchantment chart and the linen. I have never used linen before it is easy to work on. All I need is to buy the threads now.My chart has arrived, but my dragon hasnt yet. :(I am hoping tht it will turn up this week

I love the Medieval Enchantment chart.

Linen is lovely to stitch on. I assume you will be stitching over 2 threads. The best tip I was ever given was to make sure you start each cross stitch with an over upright thread on the right of the hole - difficult to explain but if you look at the stitch animation for Cross Stitch Danish on this site I think you will be able to see what I mean. This helps when you are counting threads/holes. If I am stitching a large design I often mark up the fabric with large running stitches - I was never keen on the pen marking method and after reading the horror stories on here I wouldn't risk it on a large piece.

Good luck with the linen stitching - hope you will be another convert to evenweave :D

Has anyone bought this frame from argos Wide Box 3 Aperture 4 x 6 Photo Frame - Black if so can you tell me if the aperture is removeable as it is the perfect size for Czar and a bargain too :)

I haven't seen or bought this but I don't see how the aperture can't be removable - I think they are just card mounts to separate the photos. Usually with frames like this you can remove the glass and the mount card. If it wasn't removable it would have to be attached to the glass or the frame which doesn't seem right. Agree it seems like a great price.

I have been tormenting myself by looking at the polstitches fabric site :o

Gorgeous stuff, and the fabric viewer is a great idea, I have Joan Elliots Cinderella but it is so much more expensive than using normal coloured evenweave :(

Sorry to hear about your OH - hope he is on the mend.

What a lovely gift from your Mum. I love the patchwork cushion design and as you say the free gift is good value. Are the charts new ones or are they reprinted from back issues of the magazines?

I'm not sure if they are reprinted or not, I haven't bought enough mags to recognise them. Would it say in the magazine if they had or not? I'll try and get some pics for you to see if you recognise them when I settle down later. If you want any ;) I can scan them next week at work :)

i have a chart for Enchanting Pegasus by Dimensions, is it that one?

No, I'm afraid not :( Thanks for looking though. The one I'm after just has the unicorn/pegasus flying in front of a huge golden sun. Its not really a landscape as such.

Agreed it does seem daft if it wasn't removeable :rotfl: There is one in stock at my nearest store so going to get it tomorrow :)

True the fabrics are more expensive but the final effect is wonderful on designs where enough of the fabric is showing - obviously not worthwhile for designs where the stitching covers the whole of the fabric.

I have 4 large Mirabilia designs on display on the same wall - 3 of them are stitched on coloured/hand dyed fabric and one (an early effort) on plain white aida. It is driving me mad and I know that one day I will replace it with one that is stitched on a different background. I wish I hadn't spent so much on getting it framed or I wouldn't have it on the wall:( It's only there because it replaced Queen of the Fairies which was stitched on hand dyed fabric. I gave it to my Dad a couple of years ago because it was his favourite of my stitchings. The only regret about it is that I didn't take a photo first and keep forgetting to take one when I visit.

Anyway Joan Elliot designs look wonderful on Polstitches fabric - they seem to collaborate a lot I also love the Fabric Viewer and can spend a lot of time playing around with it :D

Yes I do - is this a test of my magazine filing system ?:rotfl:

Anyway as explained earlier I won't part with the actual magazine but happy to provide you with a back up copy of the chart you need ;)
