Happy [STRIKE]chocolate munching[/STRIKE] Easter!
Well no stitching managed today, yet! Been busy making a card for my niece, it was not easy to decide what to do for her as she hates pink princessy stuff, and is a bit of a tomboy, but hates football etc.
In the end I did an ice cream theme which DD chose.
Welcome to the newbies :hello: Look forward to seeing your work
Loving all the updates, I promise I will add mine asap!
Well my stash is growing againSeriously need to be banned from Ebay! Ah well, I am keeping postie busy and out of mischief.
Now time for a brew and a bit of Kipper stitching!

Hi Ladies
As my collection of magazines is ever growing (thanks in part to the charity basket at the local stitchy shop), I am wondering how you all store yours. Do you keep them as whole magazines or disect them and just keep the charts in a file?
Regards
Emma
I am something of a magazine obsessive so I like to keep whole magazines and yes I have hundreds of them
Some I keep in binders for the magazines, some in A4 plastic filing boxes which usually will take a year's worth of magazines (12 or 13), others are in magazine racks (I got quite a lot from the office when we moved - they were destined for the skip until I rescued them) and others are loose (mainly the most recent ones). I store them by date and it isn't the best way for finding a particular chart but I can spend many a happy hour looking through them and while I have enough room I will keep them
Louise's idea of only keeping what you might want to stitch is probably much better but it's not for me (at the moment anyway)
I have a notebook where I make notes of particular designs I want to stitch so then I can easily locate the design from the issue number/date. Of course when I am trying to find a design I didn't note down and can't even remember which magazine it was in then my "system" falls down completely0 -

I'm trying to find this kit online so I can start stitching so its ready for my new nephew in August!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170816642857?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1287
Does anyone know please who may sell it online??
Any help gratefully received!
Welcome - hope you can be encouraged to join in more frequently:)
This design by Maria van Scharrenburg does not appear to be current so auction listings are probably your best route. This is a similar style though much smaller.
Isn't it frustrating when you know what you want and can't find it:(0 -

Can I join please? I was amazed (ashamed) to see how many unstarted and part started kits I have.
Have decided to make an effort to do "Live in the The Spirit of the Season" and "Walk on the Rainbow Trail" both by Joan Elliott. Fortunately had plenty of spare Aida to start RT and have bought one or two extra skeins to complete it and LSS.
Puzzlingly I have found what looks to be threads and started design for a dream catcher one (possibly "Follow Your Dreams" as I vaguely remember having had one that said that) but so far no chart. I'd like to complete that one, but do I turn the house upside down and hope to find the chart, or grit my teeth and buy the kit again?
Welcome to the Cafe.
This is purely my opinion but I would carry on with stitching RT and LSS and not waste time turning the house upside down. You may come across the chart when you are looking for something else. I wouldn't buy the whole kit again - keep looking on auction sites for the chart and it may turn up at a reasonable price. In the meantime keep stitching on your other projects.
We love seeing progress and finished pieces so can I encourage you to share0 -

Thank you for taking the time to look, will keep trying online but unfortunately time is ticking!! Its only the fact I have a new nephew on the way that's encouraged me to stitch again, just a time thing at the moment with 2 little ones but do find it very relaxing once I pick up the "bug" again. May go for a dimensions kit if can't track this one down!0 -

Hi Ladies,
All this talk of UFOs has reminded me of something! I have/had a kit of a winged unicorn or pegasus that has been separated
I've relocated the fabric and threads but I can't find the chart.
The design is a winged unicorn, or a pegasus in front of a big yellow sun, stitched on navy aida.
Can anyone help? I've googled around but can't find it, can't even remember what brand the kit was.

Hi Ladies,
Just checking in! I Have had a sickly OH to deal with over the last few days so not been online. Have been stitching away, working on Dear Santa and the party paws card kit from cross stitch card shop. Will post pics soon!
Glad everything went as well as it could for you Louise, I've been thinking of you.
Welcome to all the new peeps, I'm sure you'll be right at home here!
My stitchy to do list is growing like mad!
I finally got my hands on WOXS (thanks to Emma) and the unicorn is definitely on there! Love the wedding sampler and the monster ABC as well.
Then my lovely mum handed me Enjoy cross stitching 'hearts & roses' edition, bless her! This is the one.
Some lovely things in there, at least 3 designs I'd like to stitch! Theres a lovely patchwork cushion design, a flowered bag and a 'home is where the heart is' sampler. Also loads of quick card type stitches.... I'm going to be busy! The free gift was good as well I thought, aida, threads and cards, enough for 6Just found a handbag design I want to do on the cover page inside the wallet... Help me!!
Anyway I'll stop waffling and get back to stitching. Hope everyone's having a relaxing weekend.
Happy Easter all!
Sorry to hear about your OH - hope he is on the mend.
What a lovely gift from your Mum. I love the patchwork cushion design and as you say the free gift is good value. Are the charts new ones or are they reprinted from back issues of the magazines?0 -
