Sorry to hear about your dad, Louise. I know what your sister said was nasty, but remember she's dealing with the news too, and sometimes you say things that are hurtful without meaning too. I know I've been a right b!tch to people when I'm stressed & I don't even realise it at the time. I'm not condoning her actions, but don't let it spoil things with your family. * hugs *

Louise - sorry to hear about your Dad and how your sister is behaving, if this is out of character for her it might just be her way of coping.. Well done on finishing the ballerina. I looked at the book that came with WOXS and commented on the African Horizon as well. will try to hold out as have so many things to stitch and unfortunately I don't stitch as fast as you.

Thanks guys - we have all been making excuses for her for 9 months now I'm afraid, and the incident I mentioned is actually one of the lesser ones! Honestly, I could fill a book on her antics lol - the final straw for me was finding out that she had been texting 'Here comes the little f-ing Princess' to my other sister about my 4 year old DD (she went to my Dad's 60th birthay in her Rapunzel outfit) along with various other nasty comments, so I am pretty much done with her now - I will be nice and ignore her for now so as not to cause my parents any upset.

Ailsb - well done on not blowing a fortune at the craft show! That is one colourful dragon...it's a subject I have never stitched before, now I think about it.

When I got to the show the other week, we went in at 11am and there was people who were leaving with their purchases! Blimey, after paying for a ticket I want to be there all day :rotfl:

Been to the NEC today. Left home at ten past seven this morning and when we got to the place that the coach was leaving from, we were told by the driver that the M5 was closed, so we weren't sure that we would even get there, but we did.
It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday, but we still got there too late - about 10.30, to stand any chance of getting on any of the workshops.
Sadly, the frame people weren't there - so I still don't have my lap frame. I'll go online tomorrow and order one.
I bought a book, some white metallic mixative to use with alcohol inks to alter the colour of the jewellery I am making and beads.
I saw some absolutely amazing sampler kits - quite pricey and beyond my budget, but really sensational.
The Downton costumes were nice too.
On the way home there were signs to say that the M50 was closed and we had to divert over the Severn Bridge instead and the driver had to fork out £18 something. Bit harsh given that the road was closed - what would you do if you didn't have the money?
Overall, we had a great day out and the lucky dip, bingo and raffle on the bus raised £83 for the local children's hospice.

Louise - I got there early as it suited my train times - I got dropped off at the station by hubby on his way to work and picked up again later. Also by getting there early I managed to get booked on the sessions. I really wanted to do the quilting one and was really pleased that I did it. I managed an hour of aimless wondering, then the sessions and then another couple of hours actually looking at what I wanted. I left at just before 5pm and seeing as I got my ticket using Tesco clubcard points I well and truely got my moniesworth. I don't understand people who leave after such a sort time either.

Also, I didn't mean to tell you what you should think about your sister and saying things about a your DD is (in my opinion) out of order. I think ignoring it for the benefit of your parents is the best thing to do. No point upsetting them.

Well I have just enjoyed The Voice followed by BGT - now to watch the BGT I missed while watching the end of The Voice :j
Have started the pooh design that was in WOXS - I have completed two 10 x 10 squares and I think I'm just a few rows from completing a third 10 x 10 square

Soulie - your progress on white lightening (I think that's what it's called) is really good.

Chicky - sorry to hear that your hubby is being "naughty" again.

Lanc-lady - think it was you and possibly flowersofscotland that ordered the large piece off ebay. If it was you has it arrived yet? I ordered one 6/3 that was supposedly despatched 11/3 but haven't received aything yet. Just wondered if yours had arrived as I know you ordered yours a few days before me.

Now the show at the NEC, well I went. I got there half an hour before it opened and was about 8th in the queue, everyine was really friendly with people that had been there the day before letting us look at their show guides to see where different stands were. I managed to book on 3 make and takes and really enjoyed them. I did a patchwork session, a beading one (which I have to say was a waste of 30 minutes - but at least I had a rest) and a decoupage one which I enjoyed. I saw some lovely designed including a whitework piece of an angel on black or possibly very nark navy fabric which I thought quite a few of you on here would love.

The only cross stitch that I considered buying but was out of stock was this dragon http://countyneedlecraft.com/html/dragon.html. I might invest in the chart in the future but no rush.

I only spent £30. I bought a Jelly Roll for quilting, some wonderweb type stuff and half a metre of some fabric with elephants on. So nothing to do with cross stitch.

Sorry for long post will slink off now to continue watching The Voice followed by BGT.

I've not received mine yet, but I did receive something else I bought from Hong Kong on Thursday. That was bought on the 29th February and received on the 22nd March, so I'm hoping it will be any time now. I'll post as soon as it arrives. I can't wait! :j

*Louise*, Maia have designed a couple of other smaller kits similar to African Horizon, Elephant Silhouette and Giraffe Silhouette. I have lots of empty wall space, i think all 3 would look great together. I just spotted this one too Savannah Sundown oh, i want them all :rotfl:
