    Ah darnit!

I hadn't even looked at the Mag, had a little browse through the catalogue that came with it and have found myself a new project!:o

African Horizon - I've never stitched a large piece on red before, it looks great. It's £25 in the catalogue but I will shop around.
Edit to add: Don't think I will beat that price as it's just been released...

Right - as for the magazine.... Don't read any further if you don't want to know what's in it!

Nice enough free gift, will probably give mine away to someone as I won't have time to do any of them.

Winnie the Pooh - Good beginner project, very simple but not somehting I would do now.

Stained glas - Pretty but no.

Birthday cards - I really like them, the detail is lovely so I can see myself doing some of them. I intend to build up a pile of small stitched pieces then have a card making day with them all.

Just read the craft awards - Well done to Michael Powell on getting designer of the year, very well deserved.:T Margaret Sherry was runer up, it must have been a difficult choice! Sewandso were retailer of the year runners up.:T

Spring flowers...well you all know how I feel about flowers so that's a no lol :rotfl:

Handbag designs - nice enough but can't see me using them tbh

    Cupcakes..mmmmmm. Sorry what was I talking about.....:o

The Unicorn is gorgeous, I do love Joan Elliots work but I can't see me stitching it. I agree with Soulie, the fabric is gorgeous.

Wedding Sampler - Not for me

Anthea Turner - I have no opinion on her either way but good on her for encouraging people to get crafting. I wouldn't have thought of her as a stitcher tbh, more of a PVA glue and cardboard after her Blue Peter years :rotfl:

Regency Ladies - I do like them, could see my mum appreciating them, but as for the time to stitch them...who knows. I like the box they are displayed on but when I looked up the price..OMG

Peacock - too much green, would make me think I was stitching foliage :rotfl:

Done...off to put last few stitches in and wash my latest piece. Then order African Sunset....*whistles*

So I got quite excited when I caught up with the posts at lunchtime and saw that some of you had received WOXS :j
Yay mine was waiting for me too :D

    so....

Love the winnie the pooh design and can't wait to stitch it :j Have already found some of the threads I need...
Free chart book ok but probably won't stitch anything from it. I do like the purple thread - not sure on the pinky coloured thread.

Stained glass windows quite pleasant but something that I don't think I would stitch.

Don't like the advert following the stained glass window - really not suited to a cross stitch mag?!

I got excited when I saw there were some Assisi cards but actually I think some of the designs are a bit naff, not wishing to be rude or anything. The slice of cake is probably the best design out of the six. There doesn't
seem to be many assisi designs available which is a shame - its something I would like to stitch.

I am surprised sew and so didn't take top spot for online retailer ??!!

I like the Bloom and Grow design but I have too many projects and don't think I would ever stitch it.

Subscriber page chart - ok but colours a bit random?!

not keen on the handbag designs.

the cupcake is ok but not a must stitch, doesn't show you what one you get next month :(

not keen on the unicorn, not my cup of tea but do like the flowers at the bottom of the design!

I do like the love and cherish design. Ginger Tom designs is a cool company and I like their work. I suspect I shall be paying their new website a visit when its up and running.

Nope, anthea turner and cross stitch doesn't mix for me

Big no no for the secrets and roses design.

The monster alphabet is quite cool :j

peacock design ok but don't think I would stitch it. too much like hard work. don't feel the love for it.

    LOVE Newton as always!

so the pooh design and newton win the day for me.

    Next month...

Like the free kit even though I am not a fan of All our yesterdays. The take flight design looks pretty amazing and milton looks like a possible stitch too!

thank goodness its the weekend :j and I hopefully can get lots of stitching in :j
  • I got mine too - I didn't like anything this month, except the little bag designs... Ho well, it's £3 I would only have spent on coffee I suppose ;)

I think he's sweet, but I only do cartoony stuff for other people. I'd like a cuddly Newton though. You can never have enough cuddlies :)

I wonder what Pooh would look like on sparkly black evenweave :) Mmmmm.... twinkle twinkle little Pooh!

I do like the sound of sparkly aida. will see what I have in my stash....

If I want to stitch on 14 aida instead of the 16 count it allows for, how much material do I need? It helpfully tells you half the measurements.....
