Oh, I've also just remembered. Does anybody have one of those concealed cutter things, like the clover? Would it cut paper that's sort of plasticky? It's quite strong stuff as it holds the timing chip onto your laces. I thought if I could carry one when I'm doing to marathon, I might be able to save my laces - the officials cut your laces to get them off and my runners are still quite new with nice blue laces0

Nail clippers would, surely? Or buy cheap boring laces to wear that day & swap back into funky ones afterwards.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Nail clippers are possibly a bit bulky to carry round. I hadn't thought of changing laces. I'd probably need to swap them now so I'm not running in new ones on the day.
Although last time I swapped laces, I put in the bright red Heart UK ones and couldn't find the original white ones0 -
managed to get a wee bit of my project done last night i can see it starting to take shape not just a bunch of colours
nykied I have a clover cutter it cuts threads ok but wouldn;t be good for anything else I don't think.
housework then some more stitching I think!I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
*Louise* - you've no doubt noticed by now or it's been pointed out, but on your lion chart, the lines underneath the claws, you've drawn in red but they're part of the banner which is in blue/black ( I can't quite remember what colour).
Haven't touched it for a week - thanks for letting me know....don't even know why I penned it in red, probably becasue I was doing the outline and realised I had forgotten to draw that bit in so just used the pen I had in my hand :rotfl:No matter, it will be stitched in white in the end to match the rest of the banner.

Same here - it's great for threads but the gaps are too small to do much else.
I have completed all the housework this morning, pick up DS2 at 3pm then got my mum/sis/niece/nephew visiting so will either stitch till then or cuddle up with DD and fall asleep on the sofa.....:oCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi everyone, sorry for being missing again. I'm feeling quite a bit better, less depressed and less overwhealmed, thank you for all your well wishes.
I've shameless dropped in to tell you that I've won tickets to the Country Living Spring Show!! Thanks to a Crossstitcher comp! its too short notice for my best mate (this week!), and mum just panicked at the idea (though she has been quite stable for a while now thank goodess), so I'm pondering going alone. Has anyone done similar alone before?

I went to Stitch and Craft in Olympia on Saturday. It's fun
Go, you'll have a lovely time x
Take lunch (if you're being MSe) then you can buy more treats.
Bet you have a fab time - no one bossing you about re where to look0 -
23rd - I'm going to the show at the NEC on friday on my own and really looking forward to it. I went to the one in November at the NEC on my own as well. It's different from going with friends but I have to say I really enjoy it. I try to get there as it opens and book myself on to a couple of the free make and take sessions.
By doing sessions it means I don't have to walk round on my own all day, I get to talk to people whilst I'm doing the sessions.
You go, I'm sure you'll have a great day, and as tellmeitsfriday says you will have no one bossing you about re where to look.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

My hubby has told me to go to the NEC on Friday but seeing as it is his birthday, I'm sure he wouldn't want to spend the day alone looking after our two little ones!! I have been to shows on my own but never done any of the workshops. I always just wander round thinking 'oh look it that person off the telly' as it's always weird to see them in real life (if you watch the craft channels of course). I enjoy going on my own - the most daunting thing is the drive there more than actually being at the show and of course, the panic about finding your car again at the end of it all.

Not sure if this will work but I'm trying to post a link to something I did for my Mother in Law.

Just realised it wasn't quite finished, I haven't got a pic of the framed product.0
