Thank you so much FoS I think you will be getting A LOT of questions on this.

I adore the Just Nan designs and I really hope I am up to doing them, they to me are perfection in samplers and I have seen so many I really like.

I think I am going to use the Anchor threads I have I know its only 6 threads I would need but money is a little tight at the moment. I will buy the krenik metallics as I have never used metallics before and as you have recommended them as the easiest to use I think thats the way to go.

Willow fabrics are closed today and I can't see it on their website. I shall call on Monday and ask about the Quaker. I shall also spend some time today on the web seeing if I can find it anywhere else. Would you say the Quaker or the Cashel is easier to use?

    Thanks so much!!!!!!!

    xoxo

The Quaker fabric is still on the website here though that doesn't mean they haven't sold out. I think Quaker and Cashel are very similar for stitching - Quaker has some cotton mixed with linen which makes it a bit cheaper and it's not easy to tell - certainly the look it very similar. I like using both.

Hi all - just wondered if anyone has stitched The Gold Collection Sweet Dreams Stocking. (Sorry can't post links)

Its on 18 count aida and most of its done in cross stitch using 2 threads apart from some half cross stitch using one thread. When I came to do the blue in the window it said to use half cross stitch with 5 strands. I have half done it but if seems a bit crowded if you know what I mean. I'm thinking of unpicking and trying maybe full cross stitch with 3 strands. Presume it says to use 5 strands for coverage.

    Any thoughts?

I don't have that kit but do have a couple of other Dimensions kits which use just one thread in some places and up to 5 threads in other places  I think its to create the overall effect because some of their designs really stand out / look 3D?

Louise, yes the last one I purchased was £1.25 and I thought that was a little expensive. £4 is crazy considering some magazines are £3.95 :o

This is the chart, called new baby sampler 123, its number 13. It has three ballons with bears and clouds. I think it may be from crosstitcher because I reconise the 'what you will need' font but I could be wrong.

Today I will be mostly stitching before heading out to work later, I am now only working for my new job :T

I am sure i actually have that chart, may take a few days to find it but I could post it to you if you would like as that seems very expensive.

As part of my Polstitches order the other week I brought a variety pack of the hand dyed aida in 16/18ct. I got 3 pieces and they really are lovely. Anyway last night I decided to see if they where large enough to use as the fabric for the Joan Elliot seasonal fairy collection and they are :j I checked, rechecked and checked one last time just to be sure plus after looking at the recommended fabric for the design I actually think that all three pieces I have are the actual fabric needed or are so close that you can't really tell the difference:D So that means I have everything I need for the spring, summer and winter fairy, very exciting:D.

DS1 feeling a bit better but not 100% so we have had to change our plans and basically stay in, shame because my OH gets a saturday off once every blue moon but on the other hand it is overcast and freezing but we will just have to make the most of it as best we can. Plus it means I can sneak in some stitching;)

Have a great stitchy saturday everyone, and Louise have lots of fun at the show today.

Thanks for that Flat Eric. I will finish the windows and see what it looks like. It just seems a bit strange to make the night sky stand out but it will probably all come together when finished.

That's brilliant luck. Polstitches fabric is a delight to stitch on and your seasonal fairies will I'm sure look wonderful - I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. Hope you were able to make the most of your Saturday in. We've had a beautiful spring day but then the UK has such variable weather across the country. A few days ago someone posted about stitching in the bright sunlight and it had been dull and grey the whole day here. Hope DS1 continues to improve

I found the magazine that I stitched the anniversary card from. The one I stitched was the ruby card although I didn't stitch it exactly as is featured above. (i put the charm inside the card) I now need a gold wedding card. I don't like the gold card design so was thinking of stitching the ruby card again but stitching the square border and inner border in gold thread (dmc 744)

I think I would stitch the pink circle border in the green and instead of the heart charm, I am thinking of stitching 50 in gold sparkly thread ?

I don't fancy stitching on evenweave again so thought would stitch on aida and have thought about stitching on gold flecked aida, what do you think ?

OR I could save myself the hassle and faff and buy this

Had to find this as I love stockings For anyone else curious here it is What a fabulous design but sorry I can't help with the query. It does seem odd to use 5 strands on 18 count aida but as FlatEric says it may be to create a 3D effect.
