Dora, I am with you I didn't like my gorjuss design, mostly because the thread had no numbers so I can't redo the design. But it did come together very fast so that was a positive. Its now a ufo as I have to do all the backstitch  I am not looking forward to finishing that.

I think I have made a boo boo on my dragon :o I think the second page has slipped and I have stitched it one line too much up iyswim. I have done so much that I really don't want to unpick it and I have no copy of the chart so can't redo it as its been marked with pen. So I am going to finish page one and two and see what happens. If it is one line out I will do ther remaining pages and fill in the line to make it look 'ok'. If it looks awful I will prob have to reorder the kit

I am now looking for a gift bookmark. My adopted Nan has coo ed over all my cross stitch lately so I want to do something for her and as an avid reader I have decided on a book mark. Now I am down to these four but I don't know which to choose. She is about 65ish and although I love the FF designs I think she would prefer the MP one, anyone got any opinions?

    FF personalised
    FF daisy
    MP vase of flowers
    Blue tits

    Many thanks :D

    I like the Blue tits
  • Mmmm Blue tits it may well be. Won't order it for another month incase I see anything else I can stitch for her :D

Is anyone making any new years resolutions? Mine is going to be to stichy things for me, i want to do the complete dictionary of series (maybe not all in one year !) So next year will be sent doing ones for me

    Xxx

I've thought of a few and mentioned them here (post 6)

In previous years, I've written out a list and stuck it to the back of my page a day calendar but writing things down and actually achieving them - well its rarely happened.

To be honest I hate new year. I find it all a bit of a faff and well if I could go to bed at 9pm tomorrow and wake up in 2012 well that would suit me!

As long as I'm healthy and happy, likewise my better half and my family then well thats all that matters really.

I'm tempted to change jobs because next year marks a milestone in my current job and I feel ready for a change but well the news would suggest that now is not the time to change jobs so suck it and see springs to mind. Oh and speaking of news, with time on my hands, I've found myself catching up with the news more than usual and I think thats one resolution I shall be attempting - not to read the news - its just too damn depressing.

In cross stitch new years resolutions, lots and lots is the plan!

Dora, those are lovely designs, I'm glad u can complete the set :)

PAP, personally I love the MP and think the blue tits are lovely. I'd only go for FF if I knew the recipient really liked them already.

Hello all, didn't realise there was a new thread until I stumbled on this earlier - how out of touch am I??

Some lovely makes everyone, especially like the Christmas design that is the word CHRISTMAS running vertically. Sorry I can't remember who stitched it.

I;ve been looking at the Sew and So sale, it's naughty I know, and fatal. I've resisted so far and need you lovely people to tell me not to do it. This is what I like, I've even thought where it could hang. http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Souls-Flight__ANC-5678000-01038.aspx?LineItemId=6bb0531e-14db-4ad6-a51e-f0c0d40c63c6

Those that have good memories will know that I inherited all of my mums kits as well as having my own, must have about 20+ to do. Could keep me going until I am 100 and still leave some to family - lol. So I shouldn't buy this. Will go to bed and ponder on this.

Night all and _party_Happy New Year _party_to you as well.

i never watch the news. I have the 'postcode gazette' app on my phone which gives me any important local information/ news and sky news app.
I check it a couple of times a day. figure if its not on them it don't need knowing about.

I got some stitching done - tho not happy as only about 300 stitches in 3 hours (all half stitch of one colour!) Am tempted to leave the sky as half stitches then if i get it finished in good time do the other half............

my news year resolution............. stop checking the flipping grabbit board on here!
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Hi Catwoman yes I have a frame like that one. I will persevere with it.

I didn't find anything in the sew and so sale. The only things that caught me eye were at full price. Always the way eh?

I might check out black sheep wools next.

    Happy New Year everyone

Hi everyone, been a while since I posted although I have tried to keep up with the thread. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all have a great new year.

My HAED is coming along slowly I am now onto page 5, I will post an update picture later (if/when I have one lol). For christmas I got a new kit http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=K3898 to go with the rest of my oriental obsession :D. I absolutely love the Christmas design with the snowmen its lovely.

Also can I ask as I know a few are stitching or have stitched the gorguss range, can these be purchased as chart only?

So I couldn't sleep... So the sew and so sale didn't help!

    I'm thinking of getting...
    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Chrysanthemums__DMC-K5549.aspx ooh, linen!
    and
    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Simple-Flower__DIM-71-06238.aspx. Ooh, odd stitches!

But the basket won't load on this device, the in laws to be are imminent and the kitchen is needing sweeping! so I've got to go!

FlatEric I'm with you on the 9pm giving up on New year's eve tonight and also with the news - have started just reading through on teletext to avoid graphic pictures in front of children especially.

Resolutions - basically get stuff done so I have decent time for family and stitching too. Even dh has commented this morning how much better the house is and that 15 mins will get it fit for visitors, just got to get school work licked into similar shape.
