Blackwork done by Flat Eric on Flickr, on Flickr

I haven't managed any stitching today what with visit to shops and snooze (hunting down pie dishes is hard work), the time today has soon disappeared but this is where progress stood yesterday. Might get some done later or may do tomorrow....

    Hi Catwoman

The bars are rolled up quite tight but the tension throughout the fabric is uneven despite me keeping the fabric as straight as possible while attaching it to the frame.

(wanders over to sew and sew looking around in wonder ......)

    Thanks

    Elle

Have you got something like this http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran881-0.html ?
If so give it another go and pull the fabric through as tight as poss when you turn the screws at each end. You might have to try and pull the ends of the fabric at each end so it gets tighter.

Is such a nice picture but the whole kit is not making me smile :(

Dora, I am with you I didn't like my gorjuss design, mostly because the thread had no numbers so I can't redo the design. But it did come together very fast so that was a positive. Its now a ufo as I have to do all the backstitch  I am not looking forward to finishing that.

I think I have made a boo boo on my dragon :o I think the second page has slipped and I have stitched it one line too much up iyswim. I have done so much that I really don't want to unpick it and I have no copy of the chart so can't redo it as its been marked with pen. So I am going to finish page one and two and see what happens. If it is one line out I will do ther remaining pages and fill in the line to make it look 'ok'. If it looks awful I will prob have to reorder the kit

I am now looking for a gift bookmark. My adopted Nan has coo ed over all my cross stitch lately so I want to do something for her and as an avid reader I have decided on a book mark. Now I am down to these four but I don't know which to choose. She is about 65ish and although I love the FF designs I think she would prefer the MP one, anyone got any opinions?

    FF personalised
    FF daisy
    MP vase of flowers
    Blue tits

    Many thanks :D

  • Happy shiney new thread everyone hope everyone is ok, and Lovley piccies to those that have posted elle I have 3 of them frames and always have the same problem as you so unfortunately I have no advice for you :( sorry

Stichy presents mum brought me loads of.threads and a load of metallic threads and some thread heaven. My best friend got me a 13 month subscription to a xstitch mag I'm so pleased waiting for the first issue to come through, I love the mags but with 3 kids I just can't justify spending that amount of money on me lol

Is anyone making any new years resolutions? Mine is going to be to stichy things for me, i want to do the complete dictionary of series (maybe not all in one year !) So next year will be sent doing ones for me

If I don't get back on here tomorrow Happy New Year to you all, and those who had a tough year this year, I hope next year is much better for you all
