For 2012 I have planned so far:

    Chained Fairy
Personalised coasters (The ones I made for my office went down VERY well, I have requests for another half a dozen, including for the big boss lol)
    Candlelight
    Sweetie Jars (Low priority though)
The Passion of Dance (which I unearthed tonight at long last!)
    Touched by Magic

And assuming I get TBM completed, my next large project will be Lighthouse of Dreams - I bought the chart a couple of years ago but keep getting sidetracked by HAED's :o

Looking forward to seeing your superfast progress on these. I love Candlelight in particular

I've done a few of his circular designs and found it's much easier to stitch them on evenweave as he tends to use half height and half depth stitches, as well as fractional ones. Not many, but enough to mean evenweave makes life easier :)

I second that and on this klt which has quite a bit of fabric left unstitched I think evenweave would be nicer - but that's just my opinion. The stitching directions are good on Heritage kits IMHO

Oh and I think Westminster is a stunning design

Not sure what to do with this one - any suggestions?

Finished XS on Angel Stocking and then make into stocking

Katy's Stocking finished by stitchyfeather, on Flickr

So the first of the 4 stockings I would like to do this year finished

So all in all a very successful weekend. No such ambitions for this weekend as have visitors.

Have sorted out fabric and threads for Sophie's Stocking by Shepherds's Bush - number 2 on the list

Hope everyone is having a good weekend
  • *Louise* That's amazing work! I've just seen it on the FB page! I am nowhere near that many projects completed! Still struggling to get my mum's heirloom quilt done. :o

However I've been sorting out my photos that have got in a bit of a mess and it has reminded me how many pieces of stitching I have done. :o

In fact I need to update my sig:
It's 43 squares of 90 completed for the Knitting Throw and can be seen here so far:
    http://flic.kr/s/aHsjtzdzS2

I have done 4 out of 8 squares for the heirloom quilt with half the large square in the middle done. It's very slow going, mostly because I don't spend the time to do it and it's on linen which is much slower than aida.

Hope you enjoy your stitchy week off - it sounds wonderful

What designs do you like in Cross Stitcher? I haven't read it properly, just flicked through and am very tempted by the Diamond Jubilee cushion although I think I would stitch it with perle threads instead of 4 strands of normal DMC. My mum would like this I think. I don't stitch her a Mother's Day card since I discovered that she throws them out just like a bought one but she does keep stitched pictures and items - last year I mounted a cross stitch design in a small tray which she keeps on her dressing table. She wouldn't throw out a cushion (would she?)

I like the free kit and for a change, the materials supplied seem ok unlike last month (free koala kit) when I had squashed eyes :( I like the idea of stitching on soluble canvas. Not 100% keen on the design so may use the soluble canvas and stitch something else :T

I like the Bug's Life gameboard - and I love those little ladybirds! Thats quite a clever idea.

I guess you could stitch the design and fit it in a coaster (hopefully?) and then you would have a firm gameboard for your ladybird and bee pieces.

The cupcakes are ok but not as nice as the cakes in another stitching mag I have seen recently (can't remember which one?)

I do like the cushion buts it not something i would stitch! I'm also not really into royal memorabilia and never in a million years would I be able to produce such a perfect show piece as is featured in the picture!

I also like the competition WOW!

The small easter designs :) would be great if they did a similar xmas themed one so you could make xmas gift tags :T Not really sure what the obsession is with buttons though ??

The Guess how much I love you design is sweet but i have seen this before and its not something I would stitch.

I also like the photo of the Keep Calm and Cross Design that someone has stitched on the letters page - the different colours used are really effective :D

I do like the seed packets but doubt it would be something I would stitch. Too much else to do!

The patchwork pals are also sweet.

and I like the China Blue sampler too. But I don't think (if I stitched it) that I would use the thread indicated.

    The teacups are also sweet!

I also like the scarf featured in the Simply Knitting advert - I'm wondering if i have this mag (took out a subscription with tesco points) not sure if have had that mag as subscription about to finish.

In summary, lots I like just not sure how much I will get round to doing!

Hi Skoobie Love Santa's list - who is the designer? Is a chart a kit or from a magazine? I need more designs on my to do list like a hole in the head but I am also very taken by designs with wording on them :D

Flower of Scotland, Santa's List is actually called Dear Santa! My bad, I've got another project called Santa's List, got them muddled up!

The design is by D Morgan and I got it from Santa's Great Book by Leisure Arts. If you want a ;) let me know!

I definitely agree with this! And I too prefer the look of evenweave if there is a lot of fabric showing around the design.

Durham Cathedral is a Heritage Design too and it has tons of half stitches!

Hope everyone's having a lovely day xx

Mags cat & flowerofscotland & Skoobie, thanks I have never used evenweave. Maybe if I do my rose design on here to practice before I splash out for the kit/fabric for this new one.

BEG, thanks I prefer working on clearer charts now so thats good news. So sorry to hear about you BIL :( Hope all the family are ok though.

Eric, lol ok not so ahead then maybe behind ;) Its nice though to do things without having to rush them they give you time to relax/enjoy stitching them.

Louise I keep going back to your pictures and admiring them again. I also love the 2 Mermaids and having stitched some Mirabilia mermaids myself I know how much work goes into them. The Europe map is fantastic - was it in a magazine or kit? who is the designer? I

I must admit I do like stitching mermaids:D I have tried to google the europe map but can't find it again - I remember it cost nearly £50, so it was in a kit. The chart had been in a magazine previously though, it was their 'giant project'....2006 I think.

*Louise* That's amazing work! I've just seen it on the FB page!

Ooo I didn't realise I was on the fb page (thanks chicky)

Hello ladies, could I join you please? I was around for a bit in an earlier cafe but couldn't keep up :rotfl:I'm usually found in the tougher thread on the OS board.

I am very impressed with all your work. But Louise - you must have bionic fingers!!! I'm sure if you send it in to WOCS you'll end up as their stitching genius and win yourself another kit you can do in super-fast time!

    I am starting this: http://www.cross-stitch-corner.co.uk/christmas-moonlight---maia---thomas-kinkade-124-p.asp

Hopefully it will be done for Christmas as a gift for my sister. The kit I had contained a chart with lots of mistakes on, so Maia have sent me the correct chart, but I've had to wait three days for it. I'm just going to do an hour or so now before bed. I imagine I might need a few kicks up the wotsit to get it done once the initial honeymoon phase has worn off :rotfl:
